    You can add a mesh insert bathtub floor in both Seek tents as well.

    I've gone back and forth for weeks trying to decide between the Silex and the Sky Air ULT. I ended up buying the Silex DCF version this morning. It seems to be the most versatile and simple.

      Cant go wrong with either of those setups! Silex is a great shelter!

      also Etowah tarps are made with TNT fabric which is lighter and more water resistant than Dyneema

      Its been 3 years, how are you liking your Silex now? Im debating getting one for a solo hot tent for late season hunts and when im running and gunning for archery elk. I have a Cimarron for when i have a partner to split weight of the tipi and stove, but im looking for something lighter for when i hunt alone.

    Good options! I heated my Seek Outside Eolus with hot rocks from a campfire and it kept me plenty warm for three hours. I posted a video on this on my channel. I would never use a wood stove with a tent this small. You would roast yourself out! Even using hot rocks you can do that.

      How does it do with wind and snow like youd encounter above tree line in late season?

    Only thing to consider with single wall tarp or shelters, teepee ect is condensation in winter you will need a wood stove or stay off the walls and a good synthetic sleeping bag

    You were really stretching to find positive things to talk about with the StoneGlacier tents.

    I think it is a joke that these cost north of $189 up to almost $500 dollars??? Just goes to show that hunting is becoming a rich man only game.

    • @troyhogarth8793

      Taggart Jenkins It’s not a rich man’s game only. These are modern designs comprised of modern materials, hence the price, (add to that the popularity of back country, backpacking hunting).
      One could still achieve the same goals with gear from the Army surplus store, however your kit may be heavier and less effective in certain conditions. On the plus side, in addition to being much cheaper, it may in some instances be more durable.
      A good comparison is the fact one doesn’t need the latest ultralight rifle fitted with European optics, because Grandpa’s old .30-30 will still get the job done.

      @@troyhogarth8793 its nylon its not that new, you could buy a rain fly for $50 or less and use some old paricord and it would literally do the exact same thing.

      Taggart Jenkins You’ve contradicted yourself. Did you really have a point to make?

    • @taggartjenkins7590
      @taggartjenkins7590 4 года назад

      @@troyhogarth8793 Yeah, the fact that every product that comes out these days especially marketed towards hunters, has its price hiked like crazy. This makes it hard for new hunters or hunters who are on a budget to even hunt because all of the new products that come out aren't catered to them, just the rich people. not contradicting just stating that you have to go completely out of your way to find useful equipment.
