Everyone always talks about how the show hits full throttle after episode 3, but damn the first 2 are great at being funny, but keeping the "wtf is going on" feeling throughout.
Because it's all mystery and zero hints or answers. It's just intentionally vague until they go back to the "real MCU" and everything immediately gets context.
My feeling exactly. The first two are still very engaging but you don’t get hints of that “Marvel action” until ep 3 so obviously that’s what ppl latch on to
Dottie is played by Emma Caulfield, who played Anya in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Drove me crazy the first time I watched this as I recognised her, but couldn't remember where I knew her from.
Fun Fact: In the 50's and 60's it was not allowed to see couples sleep in the same bed on TV. It was kind of like taboo so they would sleep in separate beds.
@@MontgomeryWenis Actually, there was a very specific set of official censorship rules called the Hayes Code that literally didn't allow couples to be shown in the same bed on TV. The Code existed throughout the 50s and 60s.
@@dlweiss The Hays code was also known as the "don'ts and be carefuls" code because most of the rules listed were only suggestions, separate beds included as one of the "be carefuls". Men and women in separate beds became an unofficial rule in the States in the late 30s, but it was never actually forbidden by the Motion Picture Association.
The only two shows prior to The Brady Bunch that had double beds were Mary Kay & Johnny (1947!) and Ozzie & Harriet (1952), both shows where the husband and wife were played by actors who were married to each other. Their double bed was seen, but they weren't shown actually being in it. The Brady Bunch (1969) was the first one that showed the married couple actually occupying their double bed at the same time.
Glamour and Illusion were two supporting characters in the 80’s Vision and Scarlet Witch comic mini-series. This is my favorite episode with the Bewitched energy it has going on.
The reason why their beds were separate at the beginning was because that's how all bedrooms were portrayed in 50s television. They didn't want to imply that sex existed, even between married couples. The 60s were a time of transition and that's what the beds moving together and the change to color are about
The castle artwork in the hallway and living room is the structure that Wanda and her brother were experimented on in age of Ultron the second avengers movie meaning that this town of Westview is tied to wandas thoughts and memories
Having gone through all of the theories, the hits and misses, knowing too much from the comic books that only translated into this show loosely....I'm having a great time watching you two go through the same WTF is happening theories LOL
Love the reactions. This show gets REALLY good! And I know it’s not difficult, but regardless, props to the editor for the black-and-white to color transition to match the show. It was so subtle I actually rewound the video to make sure it even happened 🙂
I love that you guys are enjoying the early episodes. It gets pretty old hearing people say “it gets better” like the first episodes are bad. I think people are afraid reacters won’t appreciate the coolness of episodes 1-3 because they’re so wildly different and strange compared to everything else Marvel has done.
Enter Geraldine/Monica 😍 7:38 The only thing I remember her from is 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer', maybe that's it? Paul Bettany, acting as a android acting as a human, acting drunk - that's skill. And without a doubt, Elizabeth Olsen amazingly and flawlessly changing her acting & demeanor through decades eras. Brilliant 👏🏾. I loved the _I Love Lucy_ and _Bewitched_ vibes, two shows I grew up watching on Nick at Nite (the creepy Twilight Zone-ish moments in this show are so good). 16:00 not the pulp fiction clip being in black & white too 💀😂
Apparently in the 20s or 30s ( I forget) there was a Tarzan and Jane movie where she falls into the water and he rips her clothes off while trying to catch her and there was actually a shot of her naked int he water. A lot of protest resulted from that so for decades in movies and in tv married couples weren't shown sleeping in the same beds - plus apparently it shows that you're middle class if you can afford to buy more than one bed
Alright let's all take a moment to appreciate what the editor did!!! He didn't have to do any of that, he could've just cut out some parts and that's it, but he went on and did so many things to make the video feel more fitting and more fun!!! He deserves some recognition for his hard work!!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
One of the things that fascinated me about the WandaVision series. It makes that as the series gives it its touch of comedy...it makes us question how ugly Wanda is causing by not controlling her power, take that mysterious and dark tone!! AND I LOVE IT. 😗😘😘 Greetings girls. ☺️☺️ LAS AMO...!!! ❤️🤩❤️
This show was the most theorized show of all, like every week theory after theory after theory was made lol it was fun though, seing people coming together to form a theory on what the heck is happening
Your reactions are always the best. If you read the comics or even looked them up online things like the beekeeper might make more sense to you but you'd probably also be spoiled for somethings that are coming so it might be best to just continue without any more knowledge than you have. They do eventually explain almost all of it anyhow.
I think part of the color aspect was seeing the toy and blood in color was breaking the illusion so going color helped prevent that. Old TV shows showed people sleeping in separate beds because you cant make naughty assumptions that way. Then they moved the beds together and well.... Now shes pregnant
Bewitched started in B+W and switched into Color. (they also switched husbands, but they ignore that here) The first season was supposed to be the Dick Van Dyke show. The attention to sets was amazing for both seasons, the third is pretty good, the second half there is so much more to focus on.
Hey, just want to precise, in case you haven't noticed, that the man with the beekeeper suit has on his back the same logo/symbol that the helicopter toy had on it too.
Hello ladies. The girl that says it’s that how mirrors work, was in an episode of Breaking Bad. She was in the gas station that Jessie got gas in exchange for meth he gave the girl. Hank later questions the girl and made her cry.
The show reminds me of the twilight zone episode a good life were a boy mine bins a town to his well under his control even turning a man into a Jack-in-the-Box
Of all the Marvel shows so far this one stands up as the one that can be re-watched over and over - it's got so many layers as to whats going on - whats happening, whats happened and whats going to happen and how each of those is actually effecting the others. I like Loki and Falcon & Winter Soldier but they don't seem to have the complexity especially emotionally that this one does - Loki might get there though. I am hanging for you to reach episode 4 to see the jaws drop as whats happening and whats happened start to be revealed.
Vision says he knows about the rather unsavory characters meaning that this little town of west view could be threatened by some outsiders I.e. sword even vision and wanda herself
In the 50s and 60s sitcoms, they weren't allowed to show couples sleeping the same bed on TV so they slept in separate beds like in I Love Lucy, I Dream of Jeanie, Bewitched, etc.
The beach boys song help me Rhonda plays over the radio to the effect where it sounds like help me Wanda and the opening song plays to the same Beat as the Beach boys song help me Rhonda
You. Ladies crack me up with your reactions to this marvelous Marvel. mystery. If you would have watched this when it originally came out you would have been just as puzzled as millions and making their theories that wasn't close but the good thing answers are coming soon.
Notice the cold war motif coming up in this episode they talk about communism Which ties into the fear of the color red look how Wanda looks at the red helicopter also big red gum and the blood stain from the cut from dottys hand And a variation of the color red would be Scarlet

IKR lol.
I damn near died at that part 😭😭
Imon: “Was she in bee accident?”
Wanda: “...No.”

I totally didn't recognize her until I watched a reaction and then I was like... ooooh! Nice to see her again. ;)
I felt so happy to see her! I love her as Anya and I rarely ever see Emma in anything else
OMG yes! I thought she looked vaguely familiar and this just unlocked a memory to little kid me
Fun Fact: In the 50's and 60's it was not allowed to see couples sleep in the same bed on TV. It was kind of like taboo so they would sleep in separate beds.
It's not that it wasn't allowed. It just wasn't typically accepted by society. There was no official rule forbidding it though.
To be fair they allowed actual married couples that's why Wanda combined their beds

In the comic books, Wanda's mutant power is to use chaos magic intuitively without formal training. One of her powers is the ability to alter reality.

into the 60's the FCC would not allow showing characters sleeping in the same bed.. so they would be in separate beds like this.
