Even though I seldom carry over 25 pounds I think I am going to stick with Osprey... the anti gravity suspension system has really made a difference for me. 10 years ago I said I will never own an Osprey backpack, too heavy. Now I have 3 different Osprey backpacks and passed on my first two to family. My wilderness backpacking backpack is the 58L Eja and the BV500 can fit inside horizontally next to the small of my back. My go to for a more civilized trek, like a hut to hut or a Camino is the 36L Sirrus. My Civilized luggage backpack is the 40L Osprey Farpoint ( I don't own any suitcases anymore). I know my situation is quite different from yours because I am older, female, retired mostly and have a sticks and bricks. Finally my husband does not wilderness backpack. I looked at the new AF backpacks but after traiding packs and carrying one of 6 miles I'm extremely happy with the Osprey, Eja. I second AF should sponsor you. Thank you for taking us along on your adventures. Safe travels.

Thank you Anita! That's amazing and so cool that you could pass on the old packs. I agree that Osprey packs are amazing and I would have been much more comfortable had I used one for this trek. Safe travels and happy trails!

Great to see where things led for you since 2020. Hope you’re getting sponsorships from the backpack company!

thanks for the review. I noticed you use a fanny pack and or hip pockets, but not always. Do the hip pockets bother your arms while hiking? I'm not sure if i want to add hip pockets or a fanny pack

I almost always use a fanny pack these days but occasionally add a hip belt if the pack doesn't have them just for extra little storage place. I carry a lot of camera gear so the extra pocket can be nice for a lens cleaning kit, batteries, etc. If I didn't, a fanny pack all the way. It's versatile, use it in town and everywhere else.
