Wolverine #27 ICONIC JIM LEE. That cover was used for insane amount of advertisements of x-men & Wolverine in the 90’s

The very first comic I ever bought when I was a kid, was Wolverine #17, 1989. That deep red background with Wolverine looking like he was jumping out of the comic, just caught my eye. Ever since, I have been a diehard Wolverine fan. There are so many great story lines of Wolverine, still enjoying them to this day. Even the new Patch was great, it linked back to the 1988 series! Thanks Regie!!

Wolverine 145 when he got his adamantium back is a good one. Wolverine 90 when popped a claw into sabretooth's brain. Wolverine 88 his iconic first fight with deadpool. X-men 268 when he reunites with cap. Wolverine: the jungle adventure one shot. Wolverine 57 death of Mariko. Punisher war journal 6-7 amazing fight! X-men 133 his first time proving he is the best at what he does. X-men 100 first fast ball special would have been a great addition. Wolverine: origins 10 first time meeting Daken. X-men 450 first x-23 meeting. Wolverine 56 vol. 2 (I think)...if you know then...ouch, you know! Yep...sooo many more too..first silver samurai meeting...first time facing lady deathstrike...all his Jubilee early issues just like with kitty...marvel presents 79 first time in weapon x gear appearance...he has been given quite the mythos! Can see why hard to narrow it down lol

I like the Wolverine Origin 1 mini series. I also think that if you are gonna have 180 and 181 you might as well have 182 and GS Xmen 1 as well. My honorable: The first time “Snikt” is used, the yellow transition to the brown costume, and the Deadpool crossover. Don’t remember issue numbers but that’s okay😊 some trivia type individual will come along and fill those in. To those that can answer - I bet Reg will give you an old fashioned “No Prize”.🎉

Great video Reggie. Although i’m not big fan of Wolvie himself (Sorry) but this is good. And another historic moment that can be mentioned here that’s he became headmaster in Jean Greys Academy (former Xavier Academy). Great list of Wolverine issues that are must haves. The cover art on some of them are absolutely amazing and one of my favorites, not on your list, is #17 with cover art by John Byrne. Pair that next to Wolverine #8 and you have an amazing background of vibrant red juxtaposed to that rich, rich blue and you've got a winner. Thanks for the content!

Wolverine is my Marvel guy, nearly the only reason I like Marvel at all. I don't have any big keys to offer since you touched on them....
I think Wolverine vol. 3 issue 66 (the 1st appearence of Old Man Logan) could end up being some MCU spec down the road as a certain actor ages and becomes more fitting of the role.
I also think New Avengers 5 is a Wolverine minor key literally no one talks about. Wolverine joins the Avengers in that issue.

    Punisher War Journal #6
    Marvel Comics Presents #79
    Uncanny X-men #211

Regie, I bought the Limited Series 1-4 off the rack in 1982. It was very unusual for a character to be Canadian in the Marvel Universe, and I bought every Wolverine book I could lay my hands on for a long time. There are some excellent stories, and covers. The crossover to Alpha Flight is one that comes to mind. X-Men 251, cause I also like Conan 🙂 Also , the the Alex Ross Timeless #6, and Wolverine #1 (2020) cover are two of my favorite.

Great video, as usual 👍 I have all of these except for Hulk #180 🤔 others I personally have & would add to the list as must-haves:
Uncanny X-Men #133 (First solo Wolverine story)
Kitty Pryde & Wolverine #1-6 (just because! But #1 will do nicely if you don't wanna collect the whole thing)
Uncanny X-Men #205 (iconic Barry Windsor Smith cover & a haunting Wolverine story inside)
    Wolverine #17 & #28 (legendary covers)
X-Men #5 (Wolverine vs. Omega Red cover is badass!)
Wolverine #75 (Holographic Fatal Attractions cover -- this is the issue where it's revealed that Sabretooth is *not* related to Wolverine & that the claws were always part of him)
Savage Wolverine #1 (Awesome Frank Cho cover, I have the whole series & love #2 as well)
Wolverine Black, White, & Blood #1 (just a beautiful cover)
I can't remember the exact issue number but whichever issue they used for the cover of the Wolverine Goes To Hell omnibus is also great. That's the only one I'd recommend on aesthetics alone that I don't remember the exact issue number.
There are some honorable mentions like that Black Cat cover with her behind his claws, or that adjedtiveless Spider-Man (#7 maybe?) with Wolverine & Parker in the woods. SO COOL!

I recently picked up Wolverine #1 bc it's an essential Wolverine. I started with Wolverine as a kid...decades later to not return to him as I reentered comics. Not a good man...but a great character.

I definitely loved Wolverine growing up and I too have been picking up his important keys before he's officially in the MCU. I have been struggling with the "current" Wolverine stories from the past 5 years or so. The writing hasn't been good or capturing in my opinion. I'd love it if Cates, Zdarsky, or Ewing would write a Wolverine run.

Cool list…some on mine include first appearance of Mariko Yashida in X-men 118 and her heart-breaking death in Wolverine 57. She was intertwined with Wolvie in several of the iconic storylines during the 80’s. Wolverine 88 is also a classic first battle with Deadpool.

Great list Reggie. As far as the 180 - 181 thing. I stay out of it too ! I purchased my 181 many years ago and figured I would pick up 180 ' some other time ' . I finally did get 182 about two months ago though !

Great selection. You had some in there I never would have considered. It's difficult to pick the ones that are pivotal since so much stuff has happened to Wolverine over all these years.
One event that happened that I thought was pretty cool and important to Wolverine's story and timeline, was House of M #8 when he regains all of his memories. That was a pretty big deal in my opinion.

Iron fist 14 is the next book in my buying queue. Already have first first sabertooth and Wolverine fight. I thought that would be in the list. Must have honorable mention though. 👍🏾

I think you mean Jack Nicholson, not Nichlaus. That's the legendary golfer.
    You missed X-Men 133.

Great topic Regie! My money is on X-men # 133 where Wolverine takes on the Hellfire Club. Also Days of Future Past is another great Wolverine story, especially issue #142 where all that's lefr is his adamantium skeleton!

Great video Regie! Thankfully I have both Hulk 180 and 181 as well. I'm sure it's well known that at one point it was in question as to which X-men character would die , Thunderbird or Wolverine. In the end it was of course Wolverine who was spared. But can you imagine how different the comicbook landscape would be without Wolverine in it?

I own a few of those books but the Hulk 181 has been way out of my budget. Thanks for the video.
