Wow.. this drone at night mode so clear and beautiful.. I just bought one, but I didn't have sd card yet, and I have to watch most youtuber how to set the drone fly easy .. but I fly in my house... wow it's so quiet than my air a lot ✌️.. have a great fly Sir... 🤓
It's an amazing little drone. It can make a newbie drone flyer who doesn't yet know what he's doing, to look like he knows what he's doing 😳🤪🤣 Thanks Dave 😂👍
I believe GoPro is still king of the hill for action cameras. DJI is king of the hill for consumer and recreational drones, but DJI is giving GoPro a run for their money in the action camera arena, and now Insta360 just released an action camera this week, that apparently has awesome night view capability. Competition is good 😃👍👍
This reminded me of a friend of mine that has a Sea Doo YT channel and he does a lot of filming from his drone following the Sea Doo. Once he was up in Honey Harbour and realized the drone had latched on to another boat that was headed out into Georgian Bay. Once he realized it the drone was running low on battery. He did a hand catch with 5% battery left.
Haha, the DJI engineers deserve the credit, I just had to learn how to turn it on, press some buttons, and play with a couple of joy sticks 🤔😅 Thanjs, Ryan 😁👍
Half the fun is getting new video gear, and half the fun is playing with it, and half the fun is editing the fruits of your labor.... 🤔... yes, that's 3 halves, but who's counting 🥴🤣... 😁👍
I agree with Jody. The reason I haven't purchased one yet is I know it would be (stuck) in a tree in no time (or drop straight into the water). Great flying!!
@@stanweaverIf you ever get one from DJI, get the DJI Care Refresh Warranty, $80 for 1 yr, covers 2 drone replacements including 1 flyaway/lost drone, or $125 for 2 yrs which includes 4 drone replacements including 2 flyaway/lost drones. I purchased the 2 yr warranty because I had never ever flown a drone before, I'm a beginner rookie inexperienced potential lost or crashing drone pilot 🤔😳🤣🤣
Haha, thanks RJ. YOu know I almost bought the Mini 3, kept humming and hawing over it, and now I know why. When the Mini 4 came out, I tried humming and hawing, and I only lasted 1 day, and then I thought why not 🤔🤭😁👍
Nice job editing, Wayne… and the music goes great with it. I just tried out a new Vifly strobe on my M4P last night (not total darkness cuz it got very cold) and it is very noticeable while flying.
Nice video. Your narrative makes it. You are also in exactly the same mode as me. I ride a motorcycle quite a bit, I like to tinker with the tech, I am an avid photographer and I am 70. I love my Mini 4 Pro. I have been shy about flying it at night without obstacle avoidance. I am still warming up to it. If you do the screen push button take-off and then take it up to 10 meters and hover for 5+ seconds, the drone will nail the RTH landing accuracy just about every time....pro tip.
Awesome comment, thank you. I wish I was better at photography to be able to dial in the settings manually on both my drone and my cameras, but I'm learning. Retirement will be here in about 9 weeks from now, and I will be able to spend more time riding and having more fun with my videos. Thank you so much for your kind words, Sir 😁👍
Lovely work, Wayne. Is there no restrictions for flying at night over there? Here in AUS it’s illegal to fly at night, unless you have commercial permits.
In the U.S., to fly a drone at night, the drone must have strobe lighting visible at 3 nautical miles. The Mini 4 Pro has strobe lighting, but I don't know for sure if these lights are compliant with the 3 nautical mile rule. The strobe lights on the Mini 3 Pro were NOT in compliance with this FAA rule. I don't know if there are additional rules if you're flying a drone for commercial purposes, which includes using drone footage on a monetized video on RUclips, which I don't qualify for yet. If that day comes and I choose to monetize, I would have to have a UAS Part 107 license. Back to your question, yes we can fly drones at night without special permits, but the drone and pilot must be in compliance with the same rules for flying their drone in the daytime, and at night, having compliant strobe lighting. Haha, my answer went on way too long 😳🤪😁
Great video, Wayne! I love how you compared 3 different lighting conditions and my favorite was the last one. How did you get what looks like a complete recording of your phones screen showing all of the data from the drone?
No phone used. I bought the Mini 4 Pro that came with the new RC2 Controller, which has a built-in screen on the controller. Now that I have the DJI Mic, I just clipped a mic/transmitter to my shirt. The receiver plugs directly into the RC2 controller in the USB C port. The controller itself has a screen recording feature (which is the parts in this video showing all the telemetry data), and when you have a mic plugged into the controller, the screen recording file contains the audio. So I end up with 4k drone footage from the drone SD card, and my audio is from the 1080p screen recording file stored on the controller. I just had to line up the audio file with the drone footage file whenever it showed me talking on the video. The rest of the drone video doesn't have to exactly match up exactly to the audio file, just get it close enough, no one can see if you're off by a few seconds (when you're not in the video, but talking away) It's easier than it seems in my lengthy explanation. 😁👍
That's a good question. The Mini 4 Pro does have strobe lights, but to be honest, I don't know if those lights meet the FAA rules for night flying (being visible for 3 nautical miles).
When it comes to photography, all my cameras are much smarter than me, including the camera on this awesome tiny drone. I don't have or use filters, and I let the cameras do their thing automatically. 😁
You can use any video editing software to bring in a music file and edit the music into your video. I use Corel Video Studio Ultimate. Thanks for watching, and for your comment 😁👍
Yep, I've been learning a little bit about ISO, aperature, and fps, but man-oh-man, I never realized the magic that photographers can do, until learning how to use cameras with this RUclips hobby, the more I learn, the more I realize how little I know. I'll play around, my best lessons are learning from making mistakes 😳😖🤪🤣 Thanks, Chewie 😁👍
I remember many moons ago in high school learning photography and I have always liked it but I agree photographers amaze me how they know just the perfect lighting! To keep learning all the time is a good thing! I don’t think I could do a drone!
@HarleyGurl114 I think you can, I think you can, I think you can.... 😅 ... this little drone can pretty much fly itself, my primary function is to make sure the batteries are charged up 🤭🤣🤣
Haha, believe or not, you've seen Olcott many times in my videos. First time was at the end of Part 2 of my very first video. The last time, was the video where you mentioned you liked the clock that I didn't know was in my video 😮😊. And the little lighthouse has been in a couple videos 🤭😁🤗
Great video. From few weeks I also have DJI mini 4 pro. Few minutes ago I bought set of filters. I understand that durring the night flight you didn't use light pollution filter ? There’s always a surprise when shooting at night. Very nice. Glad that car didn’t crash into your SpYder.
Everything looks different from above. And that car looked like it came too close for comfort to my Spyder, but I'm sure it wasn't that close 😁👍
Sub 240g is the future of the hobby, great footage, regards
It's my first drone, and I'm hooked and loving it. Many thanks 😁👍
Oh...so very pretty at sunset!
It was only partly cloudy, but a few of those rascal clouds decided to have the sun play hide and seek on me right at sunset 😡😫🤣
Hey Wayne, what a great idea for a video and such a nice location. Cheers

Very impressive, Wayne.. That was a big shortcoming on my S2... no low light or night flying.! Your Mini 4 is getting it done!
The engineers at DJI pulled some rabbits out of a hat, to pack in all the features they put into the Mini 4 and keep it at 249 grams. Thanks Martin 😁👍
Thats a great feature for drone shots .....nice one Wayne................JB..
Love this lil drone, thanks JB 😁👍
Very Cool Wayne... Thanks for taking me along for the flight !! Cheers 🇨🇦

The night footage is amazing! Outstanding update should help folks decide if this the right drone for them. I loved the acoustic guitar in this video.
