I have same gun, bought used 20 yrs ago & upgraded internals with Volquartsen parts. I have a vintage Japanese Ultradot on mine since new and it works well but am wanting to try a scope. Do you find the magnification you gain to be worth the weight/expense over a red dot?
I don't think the MK Standard was the MK l ??? The MK was the Second series, then in '82 a new Series was introduced, the MK ll. The first gun was mfg'd in 1947 ? ? ?
Very good pistol and accurate. Had mine for years, will not part with for a newer version. Mine breaks down “easy”. No problem.
I just received one if these, stainless as well. Pictures dont do it justice. Beautiful addition.

I got one exactly like it.
I just bought the same damn thing today! Scope and all.

were did you get the rail
You could order when new from Ruger. I have a Red Dot on mine, took some grinding on the rings to get the fit right, but you can drive nails with it.
