  • This is a piece I wrote these last few weeks, entitled "Cerulean Knives." The idea behind the piece is something that is gorgeous and serene, yet disorienting at the same time. The word "Cerulean" is a specific color of blue, often seen in the deep sea. In this case, "Cerulean Knives" refers to the beams of sunlight reflected through the water. The purpose of this nearly ten minute composition is to provide the idea of a fluid piece throughout tons of key, time signature, tempo, metric, and rhythmic changes. There's also a musical reference I incorporated into one of the sections. See if you can find it!
