@@That_Skeleton1 Same here, Titanfall 2 was just incredible, but no other mecha game could fill up the void in it's place. Be it Robocraft Hawken or Daemon X Machina. But recently I tried out some souls games like DS3 and it hooked me. The moment I've learned abaut armored core universe and what I missed I was shocked. +The fact that I knew this game is going to be made by the same developers who brought me DS3 and Elden Ring gave me a lot of confidence in that purchase. AC6 is just fkin amaizing! I'm going to try and simulate the old PS3 games from the AC ip, whenever I get new controler. (I know that the games that I listed are very diffrent from eachother, Robocraft is just make a mech battle arena, Hawken was closer to MOBA shooter like overwatch but with mechs, DXM is the only game close to AC, but all of them gave me satisfaction for experimenting with mech's builds and unique tactics.) I really hope I won't have to wait a decade for another AC game like the old Ravens did.
This is a franchise i wouldn't mind becoming an annual release! I used to play AC back in the day, hadn't played sense 4, it just didn't feel as fun as the previous ones. But 6 has reignited my love for this series. Can't wait for more!
I heard reviewers talking about how the game was too grey and there wasn't enough color. And its true that most areas are pretty monochrome, with a blue/green/orange tint on a grey canvas. But there is bright color scattered around. And what people dont seem to notice is that there are only 3 areas where you will see bright colors used: weapons/projectiles (for gameplay reasons), important character ACs, and the natural world (including coral). The visual design perfectly depicts a world with vibrant beauty and incredible characters slowly being smothered by corporate greyness. I was incredibly impressed. It's easy to make a game grey and dystopian, and not too hard to make something vibrant and colorful. Using color in a meaningful way is much more difficult, and FROM absolutely nailed it.
Yeah theres definitely a "For Answer" and "Verdict Day" coming for AC6. Hopefully quite a few for this Generation. I just wonder where it fits in the continuity or if its a reboot.
I hope it takes place before you arrive en Rubicon, playing as the previous Raven. There’s a lot to explore with the leak that effectively set the story in motion
@@cgonzalezcon Chances are you will be fighting on another planet, and eventually you will fight 621 who is now a coral zombie and you have to put it down, FROM never lets us have "good" endings. AC6 is the bleakest entry in the franchise.
@@SethonanGamingThat couldn't be any more wrong. There are plenty of games in AC that just outright have good endings. Hell, ACVD ended with you taking down the Foundation and working towards tearing down everything they did. The ending of ACII is you stopping a moon from crashing into Mars and saving the planet. The end of ACIII is you liberating Humanity from the control of an AI and forcing it to let humanity back onto the surface, something the AI itself wanted but couldn't do. Armored Core is the From Software franchise with the most happy endings out of any of their other series. The idea that ACVI is filled with bad endings is such a horrendous take that I'm genuinely surprised. The entire POINT of the last ending is that you DON'T KNOW what's going to happen next because NO ONE knows what's going to happen, no one wants Coral Release because they're afraid of what they don't understand. No one knows what will happen with Coral Release, so they're content to keep the status quo. The entire point of AC is that you, the Raven, will always change the world, and will always dictate the Fate of Humanity as a whole. The point of Armored Core VI is choosing and crossing the Rubicon, something Julius Caesar did centuries ago. Whether it's good or bad is something we DON'T KNOW and shouldn't assume we know. People fear Coral Release, but they never explain why. Nagai may cite mutations as something to be concerned about, but Ayre is a mutation, and in Fires of Raven she still remains hopeful for Humanity to work together with Coral. Fires of Raven and Liberator of Rubicon change nothing, things remain the same and Humanity suffers for it. Alea Iacta Est is the one ending where things change, even if we don't know what that change is, which is the fucking point. Stop saying everything is a bad ending when you don't even know what's going to happen.
Armored Core is one of those franchise that you don't expect to make a come back but when it does, it either crash and burns horribly or becomes a fucking banger
Old fan of the series. The sudden announcement this year, with all the bangers that came out, made me say "this time it will go well" and bought the biggest collector i could find. Totally not disappointed.
Actually, armored core 4 and 5 were pretty good game, Fromsoft just didnt have the same level of reputation back then. I'm still waiting for the next Tenchu, best stealth game I ever played
It has been making comebacks since 1998; this is no surprise. It's the audience who was finally ready for a game with an actual design vision and a developer that sticks to its guns no matter what.
One of my favorite little details is the blast radius of the weapons (particularly how they're portrayed visually). The Gou Chen grenade rifle has statistically bigger radius than the Iridium, but the Dizzy is bigger than both. And you can *see* that. When you kill a group of MTs with a Dizzy or an Earshot, you know those poor bastards baked alive in a massive fireball. I'd feel a little bad for em if it wasn't so... *mesmerizing.*
Everytime I fire a weapon in this game my senses are completely overwhelmed and I feel a dopamine rush. It's insane, and the more you pay attention to the little details the more amazed you become at just how in depth these devs really went for stuff most people won't notice
LCs are my favorite enemy in the game because of the ragdoll effects they have off explosives. To see one try to get off the ground right as a grenade hits and watch them sail through the air in slow motion till they collapse in a pile of parts on the ground is one of the most fun things in the game.
It really does feel great, and now with the new patch that changes Grenades to air burst detonate when they hit their ideal range, you're going to get a lot more usage out of them I think now. It won't be something you feel like you can only use on a grounded enemy. I've been running the Majestic bazooka recently, and it's absolutely been living up to the name with the projectile speed buff all the bazookas have gotten.
@@VeggiePun someone has been arguing with me that Malenia could fight an AC like, bro, the dizzy and earshot cover her whole arena in a blast zone bro, napalm is a thing bro
I've never played a mech game in my life until my friend who has been a fan of Armored Core since the 2000s has badgered me into getting it. I met him through Monster Hunter, and we played Soulsborne games together, and I decided to give AC6 a shot because he's been excited to share his love of AC to newcomers. Given his sheer passion, I finally decided to pick it up, and stuck with it despite how brutal the curve was for me with my playstyle, and build choices leaning towards melee, and the occasional pot shot with rifles and missiles. It was incredibly gratifying learning the game as I didn't sink, but swam, and I'm so happy that I gave AC6 a chance. I'm onboard, and incredibly excited for a new entry or DLC.
Well said, AC6 feels as fresh as AC4 did to me way back, better even - the mechanics feel refined beyond the realisation of speed/. I hope this welcome resurgence leads to further expansions and DLC; the latest patch regulation alone with it balances reassures me that FromSoft cares about refining the gameplay and such commitment ensures that I'll be playing this game far into the future! I especially appreciate that the game can be played three times to gain a broader understanding of the plot with unique encounters, choices and outcomes, though I play "Breach the Karman Line" over and over again...
This game totally deserves game of the year. Out of all the games released this year, it did the most good for the company that made it, and the genre that it belongs to. But I can almost guarantee that it won't win. Because games like Tears of the Kingdom and Baldur's Gate 3 are simply more widely popular by design. Even though AC6 finally brought the series into the mainstream, its still nowhere near as widespread as fantasy RPGs always are. And that's fine, since everything that makes it less popular is also what makes it so good. From doesn't compromise their vision, just so they can boost their player counts or profit margins. That's why we all love them.
Yeah. Still sometimes feels like a sort of robbery, or would to anyone who takes the endlessly stretched bad joke of the game awards seriously. Tears of the Kingdom doesn't really have a chance against BG3 tho. Came out way too early in the year for the hype (most important factor) to stay fresh and also doesn't have nearly as many horny sexy scenes for incel gamer bros.
@@Aus200How is it boring exactly? I'm genuinely curious as this game is not one you could consider boring in the first place. It can only ever get stressful or frustrating as you get your ass handed to you because you used a terrible build for the mission. For you to feel bored you would have to have gone for a meta build that trivialises the game over a build that's actually fun to play the game in. Even then, there's a lot of shit to keep track of from AP to ammo and even enemy repair kits. The only way this game could be boring would be if you went out of your way to make it boring.
@@starhammer5247 I’m disappointed with this game. The “missions” are easily ran through in 3-4 minutes. Then, it’s followed by an unbalanced boss fight. Rinse and repeat.
@@Aus200 You are aware that none of those bosses are unfair, right? For example, switching to quad legs makes the Cleaner, the Juggernaut and the C-Spider piss easy. Balteus and Balteus Snail is a fucking breeze if you bring pulse guns that absolutely shred his shields. Ibis is a matter of timing, just wait for an opportunity or get a decent generator and boosters so you can keep pace with them, I killed them first try. Walter is a glorified AC fight, just figure out how to get good, you've definitely fought 15 ACs at this point. ALLMIND is difficult but you only need to focus them down and you can say goodbye to their lackeys, you'll actually be punished if you don't focus on ALLMIND. The EKDROMOI are a matter of prioritisation, just focus down the melee one. The HC LC fight just requires you to focus on the HC and let Rusty distract the LC. The CATAPHRACT just requires you to bring heavy weapons or high stagger gear and a Pile Bunker plus speed. SOL/Ayre is simply a matter of speed and dodging. The transformer thing in depths 2 is a skill check, flight and pulse guns are very effective against him, though. None of them are unbalanced, you just brought the wrong build to the wrong fights, AC encourages you to change up your build and experiment, why else can you buy and sell parts at cost? As for the five minute missions, you've clearly never played an AC game before and you've clearly never made it to the tougher missions. Hell, I doubt you even found the hidden parts in all the missions.

One of my favorite things From Software managed to do is revive the series in a new world with a new fresh story. Rubicon is such a cool planet. Vast with actual trees and stuff! No more underground corporation wars! And the sci-fi, space odyssey vibes are awesome.
I am someone who started From games with the Souls games, had a mild but not driven to pursue interest in mecha, and never played any AC. But I gave AC6 a shot because the dev earned my trust in their ability to produce quality and the enthusiasm of AC's fans, and after most of a month of playing it I'm now going through the series starting with the very first one. It can not only create new fans for it's franchise but send them back several console generations to play more of it, that's a powerful success there.
I pre-ordered the $70 edition of the gane 5 days before release after seeing the trailers. I've never once played an AC game before Fires of Rubicon, but coming hot off the tail from Elden Ring, I trusted FromSoft enough to try a game that's been on life support for the better half of a decade and a half. Oh man, was this *the most fun* I've had in a single player game since Halo. I've always wanted an amazingly fun mech game. Tried Mech Warrior, Hawken, and anything else I could get my machine loving grubby hands on, but nothing quite stacked up to getting Armored Core's 100% achievement. Even its multiplayer stands far above the rest(Minus one specific mech game... AC6 can only stand shoulder to shoulder with you, my beloved Titanfall) I patiently await for AC6's inevitable tradition of Overhauling DLC, and if there's ever a chance at an AC7, consider a new die-hard raven "On Standby"
Love reading this, the more Ravens the better. This series is so unique, there's nothing like it - and it manages to scratch so many different itches at the same time, it's always been fantastic but it really needed this moment In time and all the stars being aligned to really shine.
@@meeirudayo7270 like they used to do after an arena fight.... or every racing game does after a race, loll. It records all inputs and "replays" it back and gives you full camera control
Rusty AC1&2 vet here, i hope AC6 moved the needle enuff to revive the mech genre. Maybe we'll see MechWarrior6, AC7, and other mech sims within 4 years.
Bro, i almost cried when I saw how well this game has been received. I've been playing this series for 18 years now, and the thought of this game getting mainstream attention felt like a pipe dream.
Im just praying with my whole heart this game gets the For Answer/Verdict Day treatment. If there is one thing you can never have enough of in AC games, its parts, missions and enemies to fight. Of course, they will have to finish that gargantuan Elden Ring DLC first.
This is such a well crafted and thought out video! I saw all your other videos and im happy that you weren't being subjective alone in your critiques which made me respect you even more. Also love the bit at the end which is what i personally liked the existence of this game for. Fromsoft is willing to take a risk and using their expertise amd experience was able to bring back something so obscure from limbo. I cant wait for this game to get an expansion as this is by far one of my favourite games.
Thank you that means a lot! I want to be able to put out my honest thoughts out there but also give credit to what's objectively observable. This game is fantastic even if there are things I dislike about it!
I never played an armored core before and im loving this one. At the beginning i didnt like it very much, i thought it was just a fun game with cool robots and nothing more. The more I play it, the more I want to play. Im on my third run now, for the last ending, and it still feels so good to play. The only problem I have with this game is that i feel like I suck at it and I should be better by now. I dont know how I'll do all the S rank!
Hang in there Raven! What you're saying is very real - at surface level it might look like a dumb big robot game, but if you just trust the process you'll find gold. Practice makes perfect
All you've gotta do is just get into the groove. Find your fav weapons and put on your favorite tunes(or listen to the bangers in game) and just be a badass. Take risks, go for the ballsy finishers, and be aggressive. Fly high Raven.
Can we also talk about how amazing the patches has been (pun intended)? 1.03.1 changes gameplayer meta while making the fights more intense. This is so hard to do right and these the bastards at From did it. This ties to one of your messages too - is that a good game is dependent on the Devs, not the genre or franchise.
After replaying old gen once I had 100% AC6, I can say its not my new favorite but 6 is certainly a welcome return to the franchise and I sincerely hope it paves the way for a more classic feel and balancing now that the newcomers are familiarized with some of the AC dna.
Somewhat in line with my opinion too. This game sheds a lot of nuance and series defining tropes in order to be more appealing, but of a tradeoff. But it still manages to be stellar regardless.
Look every film writer worth their salt knows not to do expo dumps. This applies to games as well; because many audience dont wanna sit through cutscenes. Many would rather skip and get back to game play. So fromsoft does their storytelling very good in this aspect.
Dude that freaking intro was freaking awesome! I literally wanna play Armored Core because of that intro now. And you chose my favorite intro song out of all the installments. Everything you said was spot on too. As a fellow vet lets hope now that they've reintroduced their baby they will bring back the hardcore mechanics such the tuning you mentioned before, shoulder units and more parts. I think the soundtrack was awesome and fitting to the story, but God listening to the intro song again from AC 4 Answer, man I hope that music makes a return. That would be so cool if they did something special for us vets by giving us a dlc with AC parts from the older titles. I love the AC in the intro of Last Raven which is one of my favorite intros of the series. How awesome would it be to get all the tracks to the previous titles and choose what song you want to do your mission in? Man I'm so happy for this series, I actually said my goodbyes thinking they'll stick to their winning formula and only make souls games. Anyway, I've blabbered enough. Great vid man!
Thank you! Yeah I was not expecting for them to come out swinging like this. And for sure, I wanted to recreate the feeling of a classic AC opening cinematic, unfortunately had to do it with ACfA music because 6 doesn't have that one banger to carry the same energy - glad it turned out cool
"Mechs aren't popular in the west" It's something I've never understood; how can you look at stuff like Armored Core or Gundam and not immediately be like "holy shit, giant robots are awesome!"?
I would bet 120% on that, even when we were on hiatus they have said it's not a matter of if, rather when they are doing the next one! Sometimes we have to remember that From soft IS Armored Core, this is their legacy, even if Souls games are astronomically more popular.
@@SilverGlint Well they did say that currently there were no plans for DLC but that can definitely change in the future. I know for sure FromSoftware isn't going to neglect Armored Core. I'm just curious as to if they're going to go ahead with a DLC or just make another game entirely.
@@SCF721 which one would you prefer? I personally want to see what AC6: The Expansion looks like, with many more parts, better balancing and some deep changes to combat range, this would be really interesting
@@SilverGlint Most definitely an expansion. A "Beyond the Fires" or hell even a "Before the Fires" type story would be cool as hell. The world of Rubicon is still so interesting so I would love to see it fleshed out more.
Infiltrate Grid 086 YESSS! Definitely my favourite mission in the game - cool aesthetic/setting, really fun to explore, good enemies and an awesome boss. Also some moving parts with the lift and Carla's 'fireworks'. Great vid, loved it :D
I’m a miser, i don’t spend money unless I have to, but as soon as I saw finished watching a full play-through of it (thanks Shirrako) I spent the next few days resisting the urge to buy and play it. Then I gave in, I bought it, got my arse kicked by the chopper a few times, spent an hour or 2 trying to kill Balteus and then finished all achievements except S-ranking all missions. This game was definitely worth the money, and I really hope that they put out expansions and DLC’s.
About the charge mechanic shutout to my dear VP-66LS shotgun that doubles as a laser rifle with longer range when charged, all this in just one weapon and has been fun especially in PvP to keep people guessing what I was gonna use (poorly but hey the baits worked sometimes). This mechanic was probably one of the best addition in AC6 and added a lot of versatility to weapons while making their actions less linear by adding 2 sometimes even 3 more functions to a singular weapon. The mission bit I mainly agree, my only caveat is that there's a few too many multi staged DMC wall kill all enemies to progress type of missions which isn't exactly uncommon to the series but they would usually feel looser and not restrict you to a particular location unless it made sense within context. Still one of the best package of missions alongside Silent line and V for me and wasn't expecting them to bring back unpopular missions types like stealth missions. With you on the narrative also, one thing that really worked in 6's favour is that a lot of characters stay relevant and have personal stakes in the big conflict rather than just disappearing as fast as they appeared. In most of the other games characters could die in the mission they were introduced in and while some would leave a mark in that one appearance 6's route helped us connect with the memorable cast more (similar reason that in oldgen people remember the Last Raven crew the most), they employing a lot of repetition that doesn't get grating like having a lot of different nicknames for 621, Michigan constantly fixing the ego of his troops every time they get too cocky and talk shit about someone else or Snail always being high and mighty that it is a "rare privilege" to be part of the mission he's commandeering made it hard not to love them (or hate them). Dunno if I cared a lot about the more high sci-fi concepts like the coral, I wish we got a wider lenses into the factions especially PCA and Allmind could have been integrated better into the story even if the way their mask fell off through multiple playthroughs was really cool. Overall I would still say it has the best narrative in the series. Good vid once again and I think you covered AC6 in a generalized sense really well with this trilogy of videos.
Thank you for the feedback, yeah I agree with you wholesale, I am a bit biased to the Layered concept and gen 3 world building but 6's delivery and characters are unmatched.
@@SilverGlint oh yeah same for me. Gen 3's world and setting is still my favourite and I'm a bit bias towards a more scrappy rundown future setting over high sci-fi for AC specifically but in terms of moment to moment and character drama 6 is above the other entries.
The atmospheric soundtracks help make players focus on storytelling more. That is why when a banger like Rusted Pride that tie perfectly with the mission start playing it is so emotional. You listen to the solemn and heavy soundtracks the entire game then your buddy show up with a hopeful music!
This video kept popping up so I finally took a look and wow!!! This is a very well made video. Great work! You covered pretty much everything. No screaming or craziness. It's impressive! I subscribed to the channel. Keep up the great work!
I've always played a tank build in previous AC games. Used laser rifles on the arms and gatling guns on the back. I'm disappointed that you can't in AC 6. Still it's my second favorite of the AC series
You can do that though, except lasers on the back and gatling on the arms. If you don't mind using Weapon Bay, you can just switch between the hand laser rifles and the gatling guns.
Main thing that tripped me out is while I was in training mode I could add and remove stuff while not having to go back to the garage each time so nice best game I've played in awhile (besides Elden Ring)
This is clearly a love letter to From Software. What a wonderful video. I for one am glad to be a welcomed Raven. I am new and I am all on on the future of this series of games. For the past handful of years I dove deep into From Software games. I've found a place where developement cares about their craft and their customers. I am a mono-gamer meaning I play the same game A LOT. So Far I've done Dark Souls 1 & 3, Elden ring and I am now on my first new game+ playthrough of AC6. I have so much more AC6 to look forward to and Sekiro to dive into after that.
Welcome to the ranks Raven. It makes me really happy that you enjoyed the video and even more so that the game managed to captivate you, this series is very special, and you'll find that even the older titles bring a lot of great things to the table
A fun thing about the story telling is that you learn the important info, but the ‘how’ is learned only through putting the clues together. Ever wanna know HOW Rusty got into Arquebus? Well read some of the Arena descriptions, and notice Rusty’s AC is primarily Schnieder parts and it’ll become clear HOW he got in there.
I’d like to add the patches have been aggressive and precise to issues of certain weapon types and body part types. By fixing issues fast and immediately they help keeping the main selling point of the game (AC diversity) alive and well.
Even though I'm not as big of a fan of Souls as I have been of Armored Core games both past and present, I applaud FromSoftware for their focus and dedication. They aren't trying to cast a wide net or come up with something that's going to win awards. They aren't abandoning their vision for reviews, or pouring their budget into figuring out ways to nickel and dime their fans. I can't even find the words to describe how much I appreciate the game's direction. The way the game rewards the player for their input. Exploring and finding data logs results in filling answers to questions left by the story. Tinkering with builds often results in finding even more fun ways to approach combat. Falling in love with the characters makes it so much more meaningful and emotional when you have to make your choices. Taking the time to learn how to create and stick decals all over your AC makes it so much more uniquely yours.
It took a few patches to be perfect. I'm sad that many people started, finished, and shelved the game while dealing with Zimmerman's making nearly every other arm weapon a forced concession you'll take to intentionally make the game more difficult.
@@dakotaisgreat it's still not there yet sadly, but that's how it goes, admittedly previous games had these sorts of issues too, might get even better as patches come in
Started as a kid playing Kingsfield and Armored Core 1 and 2. Kinda didn’t pay much attention to From Software until a friend recommended Dark Souls to me. At first I thought the game looked kinda bad but it soon got its hooks in me. Fast forward to this year I’ve played every Soulsborne title and had a little trepidation coming into this entry since it had been so long. I can confidently say this is one of the best games ever made and I literally cannot stop playing even after getting 100% and all the data logs.
Bro, i had to keep replaying this video just for that intro. Please, release a separate video that just has that intro. It was absofuckinglutely incredible!!!
@@SilverGlint Hey, it gets you extra views and gives me something that can show how awesome AC is to non-fans in under 3 minutes. It's just so beautifully well done.
I've done everything there is on the game and all I can think of is when will the next DLC/installment come. It was so good that I can honestly sayI might be addicted lol. PvP is a blast even if there are days you 2-5. I would say though that I kinda missed 4/4A music although AC6 music fits well. I need my Remeber remix of remix jk
While AC6 is pretty awesome, it does feel like that From is just testing the water with this entry. Reused maps in missions, barebone PvP, etc. You can tell that From didn't wanna pour all of their time and resource into AC6, cause they were unsure of how well AC6 will be received. Hopefully From is feeling confident enough to add more AC6 contents soon.
I get what you mean, although this is very much in line with what came before - reusing assets and shit pvp comes hand in hand in these games. Hopefully once they can actually pool all their budget into the game this can be remedied
I think it is less confidence and more time and budget. Unlike other games AC6 is clearly built from the ground up however it is like other armored core games the game should end up with impressive expansions. The leap from AC1z project phantasma and to Master of Arena was insane and this is not count AC2 and 3 games that were built on the gameplay mechanics of 1 I have no doubt this is just the first taste of the new era of AC
I'm so glad i picked this game up. I haven't been able to put it down since release day. AC6 is some of the most fun I've had with a game in the last 20 years. I've experimented with many different builds, but settled on a lightweight reverse joint build with either dual laser pistols or dual viento needle guns and laser dagger/slicer or plasma thrower. What a game!
I've done my 3 playthroughs, gotten all the parts and logs, and I'm on my journey of S ranking all the missions starting with the light work (1/3 the way there), and I've thoroughly enjoyed the game as a veteran AC player. I started at AC2 and played almost every title since. The number of parts at first seemed smaller than average, but it actually falls almost directly in the average number having looked back at a lot of titles. The same goes for mission count, falling in at around 60 missions. While that's not the 100 missions of AC2AA, all of them really are pretty quality in make. My hope though is that we get an Another Age or Last Raven of this title, that just offers a ton more parts and missions. I'd like more leg options per leg category, as that translates to just many more platforms to build interesting cores from, and I'd like more versatile handheld weapons. Just having a more generous spread of statistic variables on arm carried weapons, even if it just means having 5 different linear rifles with more or less the same model, just makes it easier to fit pieces into your niche build. Finally I think I'd like to see arm weapons return, and left/right melee weapon interchangeability. That last part is probably a big ask for the balance of the game, as the combat is really weighted in close range. Combos like Lance into Pilebunker can already be really strong, so not having to give up a shoulder slot to do that to run instead Truenos or homing missiles might become a nightmare if such a change sees light.
While I have admittedly not played the game overly much, I am the type to pick at a From Software game a bit before going all in, what I have seen has impressed me. A lot of it has to do with how technology has made it so that these games are very smooth to play, the animations are solid, and you get a sense of scale and how the environments tell a story.
AC6 was my real entry - I had played For Answer in the past for a handful of hours but after 6 I've been hooked and blazed through nearly all of them. Got to say I don't usually care to get into "communities" of franchises as they can be pretty awful but everyone I have talked to in the AC Discord has been super chill and helpful also, can see myself being a lifelong fan of this series now. I'm hoping Fromsoft doesn't take AC6's success as a flash in a pan but really goes all out with AC now like they did with the Soulsbourne games.
😂 flash in a pan? This is like the 15th AC game. They've been making these back when they didn't sell. They dgaf about how it sells. That's why these games are as epic as they are. There's always gonna be another Armored Core game. Difference is that now there's a post soulsbourne budget and audience for it.
This was my first AC game and it's quickly become one of my favorite games in general the more I play it. Been a hot minute since a game has grabbed me by the testicules like this one has, to the point of me thinking up new builds around the clock, be it themed, gimmicky and/or just fun, now I'm just bummed out I missed the previous games in the series.
@@SilverGlintThank you for the welcome, since I'm technologically challenged, all I can hope for is that Fromsoft releases a series collection one day, I don't trust myself to emulate games without downloading some wacky stuff to my computer.
You know my 8 yrs old son got Ayre rank S, and showing off to me by digging missions with jail break set. Imagine what joy a mech game like that can bring to boys? The only bad with this game is just too SHORT.
This was what I had hoped Daemon X Machina would be but having no idea what Armored Core even was before this I'm glad to see a much loved franchise getting such a great new game
I've waited 10 years for the return of AC since VD. And oh boy, it feels so good to play AC6 after all this time. I was like a child in a toy store during Christmas when the very first reveal dropped, I litteraly screamed of joy 😅 And it's not really tied to AC6 but god, it feels fantastic to have a game being perfectly optimized and without bugs, microtransactions or battlepas bs for once. That's why I love FromSoft.
The only thing I disagree with in this video is the music - I mean, when "Steel Haze (Rusted Pride") starts playing, I feel same feeling I get when I hear vocal version of "I want to Live" in Baldur's Gate 3 or "Maker's Ruin" in Final Fantasy XIV - overwhelming stream of emotions that intentionally toy with my perception of reality. This alone makes OST in my opinion a very strong part. Yes, it's a bit subdued in comparison to other games, but it does very important job - it supports entire game feel, pretty much as does OST in Ace Combat series - it doesn't overtake other components but still makes game feel better. And I am very glad for it.
I have always been interested in Armored Core. A lot. I've always been interested in mechs overall, to be honest, but whenever I turned to games, I didn't really see anything that suited my likes. I have always wanted a fast game, but I also wanted it to be tacticool at heart, and things rarely coexisted. The fact that these stories tend to have dark, almost tragic turns is also a big plus. The only reason I couldn't brig myself to try 4 or 4A out was because of my hands; they exist, but are not really functional. So I've been an AC fan before Dark Souls saved my sorry ass with the lock-on feature, but even still, I only enjoyed very select games from that style. I am so glad they actually decided to bring AC back. I had almost forgot about it. The only gripe I have with this game is that, even if it may sound "quite interesting"- They should have taken more inspiration from Sekiro. I feel like the game depends too much on the ACS mechanics and the ACS bar builds up too fast. Same importance as with Sekiro, but it does demand perfection for a while, and fights generally last longer. Apart from that? Fuck, I love this game. Also, can we admit lightweight RJs are just actually amazing now? It makes it hell to hit your AC with them on because of predictive aim.
AC was my childhood. AC2, 3, Silent Line, AC4/FA, and even it's weird brother ChromeHounds. This revival could not have gone better. I thought AC might have been done for after the "meh" of AC5. Going back to fast movement was a wise choice, and they nailed it not being too insane like FA was. And omg...the graphical fine touches like the slowmo kills, the incredibly detailed weapon and mech animations, effects, etc.
I don't think the AllMind path was very well fleshed out... Like it's never made clear what AllMind seeks to gain from Coral Release, or why it suddenly wants to kill you in the final mission
As a veteran American AC fan, who started on AC2 on Playstation, I can tell you. I have been a Mech fan for over 25 years. So has my brother. And I was so scared this game would be a bust. But no, it is not a bust. It is amazing. It reminds me of AC3 story and world wise, but the mech control is better, and the graphics.
I would love some DLC content and even another game. The wildly different endings do make it seem like they wouldn't be able to build off of Rubicon's story though, Regardless, happy to have been able to played an armored core game
AC 4th gen is still peak Armored Core. Also, just a side note, the assets of AC 6 is up to scale. People actually ported these into Elden Ring as they are the same engine and the world assets of AC6 is absolutely massive. It just looks like a sci-fi reskin of Elden Ring but nah... an Elden Ring character is like about ankle to mid-shin high compared to the AC.
You know, you mention the visual design and the beautiful contrast of giant explosions in the night sky, but that just makes me realize something broader. AC6 takes Generation 4's washed out landscape design, and renders it even better than For Answer did, giving us a world that somehow manages to get across that post-apocalyptic bleakness without undermining any of the gorgeous colour palette or broader visual design.
Some good Core-paganda here. If I weren't already struggling my way across Rubicon-3, I'd be sold. (I'm not kidding, by the way. The struggle is real. Even Elden Ring wasn't this rough. I got Balty on the second try, but the Cleaner and C-Spider ate me. I'm half-tempted to rename my Melander "The Struggle Bus", because I am *absolutely* [albeit stylishly] driving it right now. @_x)
Seems like a build issue. Or you have the wrong strategy on the Smart Cleaner and Sea Spider. But hey, 2nd try on Balteus is pretty impressive actually.
On my NG+ run now and the more i play the more i love it. And ofcourse they placed the moonlight blade in a "swamp"/lake surrounded by ridiculously fast moving circular saw like enemies..... Miyazaki does it again. (I know he was only mostly involved at the beginning of the devolpement but i like to meme around the fact how much reverence some people have for him. MIYAZAKI IS A FUCKING GENIUS!!!)
Everyone at Fromsoft share a strong vision for their projects, to be fair more than anything - Miyazaki is carrying the torch of what previous genius at From had started
I've played every AC game from 2 to V, with 4th gen being my favorite... 5th gen had some cool features but lost the feel when they changed it up. AC6 seems to be about as perfect a balance between what hard-core fans want, and getting new people invested. I so look forward to future titles.... long live Ravens!
a solid addition to the franchise, maybe the best game in a legendary series. my favorites are master of the arena, then AC3 and silent line. last raven was also pretty good. dunno why they have no sniper rifle, or howitzer -bu 18 types of missiles?
Don't let anyone gaslight you into thinking otherwise! This soundtrack is amazing yes, but I keep my opinion that Hoshino could've gone HARD and it would be a banger
I miss Sniper rifles, Sniper Cannons, Higher mobility Quad legs like the 049AN04, Dual blades, parry blades, Shoulder back or boosters, a good set of ballistic weapons like the Motorcobras, and missile flares. I loved this game but AC4A is still my favorite.
I should review this after i get done with the RE games and their remakes. It was a nice surprise to se AC come back from the dead. I do wish i heard less complaints about the stagger though, the old games would stun lock you to oblivion. The best thing was finding out the karasawa was still here, and dumb as hell fully charged, tickled me pink. Had to go back to ac1 for the nostalgia hit. Had to sub. Keep it up, boss.
If I had input with FS, I'd ask them to revamp the s-rank system. Right now it just feels like a time attack. Which means, the only complaint I have about armored core is that I want more armored core. Amazing game
My one gripe with this game is the soundtrack, but even then it's minor. It definitely has it's own style, and it absolutely has it's moments (Fight or Flight, Contact With You) but it doesn't ever reach the bombastic heights of 4A or VD. Kinda like Breath of the Wild in that respect; A great game with a fairly sparse soundtrack that still has some great songs.
Its missing dual melee wielding, kinetic gun projectiles are slow, not enough maps for PVP, and not enough parts for customization. Needs more improvements for it to better.
I only measure the game by its endings... Ever seen the meme about the black guy holding the gun while crying? That was me fighting Ayre for the "fires of raven" ending.
I played ac2&3 back on ps2 as a kid and loved the mech gameplay from that.. never knew about the rest after that and was pleasantly surprised at the trailer for 6. All those years between my childhood and now showed only 1 Max game that really stood out to me and that was daemon x machina on the switch. I genuinely think it was a good game that showed me what i was looking for with a mech game. But ac6 took all that to the next level
I bought the game a few weeks ago, and I really like this game, it's my first dip into Armored Core. Though Im probably not going to go to the other 'Core games but I think this one is a good start if I go do the other games.
I've been wanting a good mech game since Titanfall 2, and I think the armored core franchise is now my new home
Welcome aboard Raven.
@@SilverGlint It's a privilege :]
Armored core fill the mech shaped gap i didnt know i needed
(I know that the games that I listed are very diffrent from eachother, Robocraft is just make a mech battle arena, Hawken was closer to MOBA shooter like overwatch but with mechs, DXM is the only game close to AC, but all of them gave me satisfaction for experimenting with mech's builds and unique tactics.)
I really hope I won't have to wait a decade for another AC game like the old Ravens did.
As usual they probably gon make a sequel to ac6 first and then ac7
We're all just wondering what goofy name they'll come up for it.
Armored Core is one of those franchise that you don't expect to make a come back but when it does, it either crash and burns horribly or becomes a fucking banger
So AC5 vs AC6?
Old fan of the series. The sudden announcement this year, with all the bangers that came out, made me say "this time it will go well" and bought the biggest collector i could find. Totally not disappointed.
Actually, armored core 4 and 5 were pretty good game, Fromsoft just didnt have the same level of reputation back then. I'm still waiting for the next Tenchu, best stealth game I ever played
@@LockMatch Wasn't ACV the second best selling game of the franchise, prior to ACVI?
"I didn't ask how big the room was. I said I'm Firing my Dizzies!"
This game is boring. It doesn't compare to Elden Ring at all. Most fans only bought it because they played Elden Ring.

AC6 can only stand shoulder to shoulder with you, my beloved Titanfall)
I patiently await for AC6's inevitable tradition of Overhauling DLC, and if there's ever a chance at an AC7, consider a new die-hard raven "On Standby"
Love reading this, the more Ravens the better.
This series is so unique, there's nothing like it - and it manages to scratch so many different itches at the same time, it's always been fantastic but it really needed this moment In time and all the stars being aligned to really shine.
I always pray that they bring back the replay feature, but for missions, it would be cool as hell

I feel the next AC game will be similar to verdict day and for answer in that it’s a sort of continuation of 6
Bro, i almost cried when I saw how well this game has been received.
I gotta say, G1 Michigan is great. Let's not forget V.II Snail though. His VA nails that condescending tone SO effing well. And of course V.IV.
It's all on them
After replaying old gen once I had 100% AC6, I can say its not my new favorite but 6 is certainly a welcome return to the franchise and I sincerely hope it paves the way for a more classic feel and balancing now that the newcomers are familiarized with some of the AC dna.
Somewhat in line with my opinion too.
This game sheds a lot of nuance and series defining tropes in order to be more appealing, but of a tradeoff.
But it still manages to be stellar regardless.
i'd like to see a remaster/remake of AC4A
Please this ^
Look every film writer worth their salt knows not to do expo dumps.
"Mechs aren't popular in the west"
It's something I've never understood; how can you look at stuff like Armored Core or Gundam and not immediately be like "holy shit, giant robots are awesome!"?
Same but oh well :(
REEEEAAAALLLY hoping this game gets an expansion later down because it more than deserves it.

One of my favorite experiences is seeing my favorite mech series thrive and excel.
Dude the armored core: for answer music you used in the beginning goes so fucking hard, amazing work man
Amazing video, and alot of how I feel seems to be also reflected with alot of the player base too.

Dam it man, I just finished turning off the game after a long session and now you hype me up again with that intro. 621 has barely rested.
I'm a new fan myself and I'm about 6 runs deep now- the combat loop of this game is just so damn good, it's surreal.
Sick ass opening man!
Great video too, completely agree on all that
A fun thing about the story telling is that you learn the important info, but the ‘how’ is learned only through putting the clues together.
Quality video, raven!
I am so excited to see the future of Armored Core!
The DLC for this game is going to be amazing.
Edit: just imagine what a game made for the current gen of consoles will be like.
Yup. AC 7 will be AMAZING
My game of the year, 100% and I’m still not bored
this is the most fun i've had in a game in a long while, AC VI is literally perfect straight out of the box
It's so rare to find something like this, I commend FS for releasing games like these for the past decade almost back to back.
AC6 is my first Fromsoftware game, and I got into mechs late last year.
Bro, i had to keep replaying this video just for that intro. Please, release a separate video that just has that intro. It was absofuckinglutely incredible!!!
I've thought about this, you think I should do it?
@@SilverGlint Hey, it gets you extra views and gives me something that can show how awesome AC is to non-fans in under 3 minutes. It's just so beautifully well done.
I already platinum the game, I thirst for more content. That and I love making new builds
The leap from AC1z project phantasma and to Master of Arena was insane and this is not count AC2 and 3 games that were built on the gameplay mechanics of 1
I have no doubt this is just the first taste of the new era of AC
Just like AC6 this video was a passion project. The love for this gem of a game came through over that AI voice. well done.
Thank you! I love these games to bits, I don't really know how I can do them justice
Ya sound design is god tier.
Very very very well written review man. Good stuff.
Appreciate the support Raven!
Running this game on a 10 y.o. machine. Loading times are long, but it runs smooooooth
This game scratches itches I didn't know I had
Yeah, the photo mode is fantastic. I use a picture of my AC in the garage as a background for my work related teams meetings.
What an intro! Outstanding!
Welcome to the flock Raven, on the bright side now you have 15 more games to play!
@@SilverGlintThank you for the welcome, since I'm technologically challenged, all I can hope for is that Fromsoft releases a series collection one day, I don't trust myself to emulate games without downloading some wacky stuff to my computer.
@@GFMarine if you join my discord I'm sure someone can help you getting most of it set up without a hitch!
Armored Core 6 has to be the best, most faithful reimagining of a game that kept the formula but improved on it since Doom 2016/Eternal.
I just bought armored core 6 a few days ago and I’m having a blast playing it plus this is my first fromsoft game I’m playing too.^_^
Welcome to our ranks Raven! I hope you have a blast
You know my 8 yrs old son got Ayre rank S, and showing off to me by digging missions with jail break set. Imagine what joy a mech game like that can bring to boys?
The only bad with this game is just too SHORT.
This was what I had hoped Daemon X Machina would be but having no idea what Armored Core even was before this I'm glad to see a much loved franchise getting such a great new game
funny you say that since daemon x machina itself is a fan homage to Armored Core, more specifically to 5th gen games (AC5 and Verdict day).
@@dragonandavatarfan8865 Seems weird to call it a fan homage when it's spearheaded by the lead for all of AC 2nd and 3rd Gen.
DxM is basically AC devs that got tired of not making new AC games so they made their own. Same as the Suikoden guys making Eiyuuden
I've waited 10 years for the return of AC since VD.
And oh boy, it feels so good to play AC6 after all this time.
I was like a child in a toy store during Christmas when the very first reveal dropped, I litteraly screamed of joy 😅
And it's not really tied to AC6 but god, it feels fantastic to have a game being perfectly optimized and without bugs, microtransactions or battlepas bs for once.
The only gripe I have with this game is that, even if it may sound "quite interesting"-
They should have taken more inspiration from Sekiro.
Since you brought it up - I'm genuinely curious now: Which one of AC's various universes _IS_ your favorite overall?
For me it's got to be Timeline 2, so from AC3 up to LR
As a veteran American AC fan, who started on AC2 on Playstation, I can tell you. I have been a Mech fan for over 25 years. So has my brother. And I was so scared this game would be a bust. But no, it is not a bust. It is amazing. It reminds me of AC3 story and world wise, but the mech control is better, and the graphics.
GREAT VIDEO
... AMAZINGLY AWESOME GAME
Just earned my sub
I would love some DLC content and even another game. The wildly different endings do make it seem like they wouldn't be able to build off of Rubicon's story though, Regardless, happy to have been able to played an armored core game
AC 4th gen is still peak Armored Core.
Also, just a side note, the assets of AC 6 is up to scale. People actually ported these into Elden Ring as they are the same engine and the world assets of AC6 is absolutely massive. It just looks like a sci-fi reskin of Elden Ring but nah... an Elden Ring character is like about ankle to mid-shin high compared to the AC.
Don't be an Iguazu. Show your resolve and like the video.
Well said Raven.
I’ll do it with “PileBunker”
Stop talking down on me loser
If you're interested in visual-only no-cheese strategy guides, i have them.
Seems like a build issue. Or you have the wrong strategy on the Smart Cleaner and Sea Spider. But hey, 2nd try on Balteus is pretty impressive actually.
Honestly, after looking up older games, and recently 100% Ac6, I can’t decide what I would love more: a next ac title or a remaster of for answer
I would really love both of those outcomes.
I so look forward to future titles.... long live Ravens!
a solid addition to the franchise, maybe the best game in a legendary series.
my favorites are master of the arena,
then AC3 and silent line.
last raven was also pretty good.
dunno why they have no sniper rifle, or howitzer -bu 18 types of missiles?
This game would go so hard with ac4a style music
Don't let anyone gaslight you into thinking otherwise!
This soundtrack is amazing yes, but I keep my opinion that Hoshino could've gone HARD and it would be a banger
@@SilverGlint no I have not been gaslit i just think they could have done a little better with the music aside from rusty
@@MetalFalcon99 that's what I'm saying! Hold on to that idea, that's valid - you'll see a lot of people trying to shit on that.
@@SilverGlint actually doesn't matter for the music since I cant here it over my armored core haha
FromSoft: So we made a new game.
Gamers: But its not a souls game, will it be any good?
FromSoft: I won't miss.
Last year me wouldn't be shocked if I said we'll get to play a new well-made AC games this year.
I've made a whole video about that, you should check it out - probably aligns a lot with what you're saying.
Armored core got so much potential for future series
Best armor core analysis Ive heard
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
God damn Silver you did it again
Another absolute banger of a video
Thank you Raven!
I'm pouring everything I got into it, might need to take a bit of a rest though!
I bought the game a few weeks ago, and I really like this game, it's my first dip into Armored Core. Though Im probably not going to go to the other 'Core games but I think this one is a good start if I go do the other games.
Last Raven and 4Answer
