How does the egg get in the pan? It's totally unable to get in the pan. The cook has to choose it, remove its shell, and put it in. The egg can do none of these things. Your illustration is a defense of Calvinism, not a refutation of it.
If you wanted this to be a Provisionist illustration, the cook would have to place the egg carton on the counter, near the pan, and open it. Then, some of the eggs would have to get out of the carton on their own, break their own shells, and put themselves into the pan, and then be chosen by the cook. That's impossible.

The eggs are totally unable to ever get up from the carton and break the cooks commandments in order to have any need to be in the pan in the first place. It's just supposed to be a picture of receiving blessings and a destiny once you've gotten into Christ dude, don't go too crazy with the analogies.

@@missiletoad7015 You're making my point: analogies, metaphors, similes, and illustrations that are not the ones used in the Bible fall terribly short. This video exemplifies this, as the illustration actually does the opposite of what the fellow may think it does.

@@TheMaineSurveyor I actually agree with you to a great extent. But people do the very same thing with the Bible's illustrations and analogies too. Especially people like Calvinists. Twisting them or taking them too far. Instead of using them in a way to *support* the *clear explicit statements* in scripture, to *subvert* the clear statements instead. You can make pretty much any analogy mean the opposite of the clear scripture if you use it wrongly, many do.
All analogies break down at some point, they're just analogies. Every pastor I've ever heard of uses analogies and illustrations from the world around us - I can't imagine not doing so. If you've got a better analogy or illustration of what he's trying to say here, well, fair enough.
But I'm less worried about this or that particular analogy than I am about Christians' lack of knowledge and authority in what is already *plainly directly stated* in the Bible. Just the way I see it.
