Some of the best philosophers in the world can be found in the most unlikely places: in preschools and playgrounds. They gather to debate questions about metaphysics and morality, even though they’ve never heard the words and can’t tie their shoelaces.
In this conversation with Aaron James, Scott Hershovitz initially discusses philosophical questions raised by Amy Sutherland's work on "Shamuing" in relation to raising his children. The conversation then opens into more general questions about philosophy and children, with Hershovitz suggesting that we shouldn’t just support kids in their philosophical adventures: we should join them, so that we can rekindle our own innate, childlike wonder at the world.
Scott Hershovitz is Director of the Law and Ethics Program and Professor of Law and Philosophy at the University of Michigan. His new book "Nasty, Brutish, and Short: Adventures in Philosophy with My Kids" is published by Allen Lane. www.scotthersh... / / shershovitz

This is painful to watch. This guy does not let the author speak. Not sure why all the trepidation when he tries to make any points. I feel for whoever has to take a course requirement with him.
