  • Scott Hershovitz, Professor of Law and Philosophy at the University of Michigan, delivers the tort law research group public lecture "Tort and Revenge” on Monday, March 16, 2015 at Western University’s Faculty of Law.
In 1870, William Alcorn sued Andrew Mitchell for trespass. His suit did not go well, and at the end of trial, just after the court adjourned, Alcorn spit in Mitchell’s face. This lecture is about what happened next -- and about the relationship between tort and revenge.
