I like the bumpers! They singularly make this Resto-mod instantly recognizable as a modern car. Thats backed up by some crash protection upgrades. That engine is a jewel. I love the whole concept of my friend's project, including the mechanics of that engine. Ian Cullen is an automobile artist. The automobile artist. I hear that five hundred copies will be made at half a million U.S.D. each. No economies of scale.
This is fantastic to see. I first started working during my school hols back in 1972 doing Bob a Job in a garage where the owner had a Mk2 3.4 and a 3.8 I was so awestruck that I came back after job week and stayed working during holidays and weekends just so I could be part of seeing and working on cats like this. I mean sweeping up making tea and sitting in the cars on the lift with a water bottle putting out underfelt fires when the Owner Les Ridley was brazing new plates and panels on the underside before good corrosion protection. Jags have been my love ever since these days and now in my 50s I've had a few. But this one looks just the dogs Balls and as an old Jag man I certainly approve 👍😀
Great car with a great story, I'm not sure if many people are aware that as a young lad in 1968 Ian sent a letter to Jaguar with some drawings and Jaguar chairman Bill Heynes sent him a letter back with advice on what to study to become a car designer, he then went on to do some epic creations like Escort Cosworth, Puma, Aston Vanquish, etc before going to work for Jaguar as Director of Design. The guy is a huge petrolhead and this MK2 Jag clearly means a lot to him and is a great way to honor it. Restomod FTW.
ABSOLUTE ELEGANCE - up to date and classic. It is time for Jaguar company to get back a Jag personality (instead of a generic look of current XF and others).
I've never seen the point in tinkering with past classics. It's like trying to rebuild the acropolis on Calton Hill. It also says a lot about a modern designer that he would rather run about in a sentimental dream than one of his up-to-date creations.
Lovely, I would have hid that stereo or not had it at all & I would have kept the chrome bumpers, I've always felt that for a car of that era they were really very subtle and unlike a lot of other cars they were tied into the design well. But still phwarrr!
Would love to see a brand take a classic and re-produce it in numbers to make it affordable. Dodge, Ford and Chevrolet attempted it with reasonable success with Challenger, Mustang and Camaro. But they still re-worked the originals, this car is the essence of what I'd love to see. Well done Ian Callum.....
Stunning, but I am also not sure about the bumbers. Did they have to change it due to modern safety laws? The stereo screen folds away so I don't think it is that bad, music is important for me so I would cope with the juxtaposition. Being an old car it is probably a bit thinner than modern cars as well, it would be much easier to drive around our small UK roads.
Put the modern stereo away out of sight! Take a period radio and modify it to work with the new system, I have seen it done on restorations. Pete C's Cortina GXL "Swampy" Rebuild being one notable example. Also this car prooves one thing! Jaguar could start making this model again if they really wanted to :D It would sell!
Those bumpers are a crime against humanity. They totally interfere with the basic design of the car and spoil the original lines. With the stock bumpers, one can still see the intended lines and they accent said design quite well. These just gouge into the original shape and add an unwelcome and awkward modern element into a proven aesthetically perfect design.
Callum didn’t ‘design’ that machine, he simply modified the original. I’m the owner of an original and unmolested Mk.2, and am completely unmoved by these alterations.
Fantastic car. Crap video. No beautiful engine sound or exhaust note. Whole video has rubbish background music. Too many clever camera angles. Someone obviously went mad in the editing suite.

How could someone not like this car?! I just got a dream!

Fantastic design elements all well executed by CMC.
I love what U have done to this cat pure " purring" beauty , craftsmanship at its best
Great job on this car, truly a work a art.
Good bit of retro modding. I like it!
It came out beautiful. Very nicely done.

I'm hooked, just started looking for a Mark 2!
that thing looks so badass
Great job! Awesome car, timeless!

Great looking car.
Nice car, good music
Wow!! A black man could excel at life in that fine auto.

Beauty in motion...
Love it.
Most beautiful car ever , perhaps because it was my first car . Can anyone tell me where I can get these wheels ???? Thank's
Yes when will mine be ready

A couple of minor tweaks and it's production ready. Would be the perfect mid-size Jag for today
Nicely done...but needs to fix that console/shifter tunnel...
Like that a lot.
I want one of these.

At 350k it would not make that much sense for Jaguar,.
Now I could be wrong.
A gorgeous thing this car ... The only thing spoiling it is the stupid modern stereo
I thought it looked like a smart modern stereo. Android?
Why is it impossible to built such gorgeous cars for "everybody" today?
A S-Type was gorgeous too, but now they replaced it with some faceless XF...
Not sure about the rear bumper strip, spoils the rear of the car for me. Apart from that I love it.
Another thought, that rear wheel appears to have no suspension travel before it hits the rear arch? There appears to be about 2cm available?
Great interior not too sure about the extended rear though but non the less a stunning car
Nice music .
i came to hear the exhaust...

Why not hide that modern stereo in the glove box..
If I win the lottery 👍
Why play music over the car sound track? Please don't do it again.

Leave the exterior alone - especially the bumpers...
Jaguar, Take note and start making these instead of those Ford Mondeo look alikes.....
Awfly sorry....that's sacrilege!
Sorry, prefer the original
half a million lol what a joke.
Aweful. Just aweful.
