    It looked like a fun little project! That holo paper really took it to the next level. I'll try uv-resin as sealing on wood, it's faster than a few coats of varnish.

    • @Toonpish
      @Toonpish  3 года назад +1

      It is faster definitely 😂😂

    We recently had storms where I live and a tree fell on a neighbors house. They cut the tree down and it is still in pieces in his yard. I’m going over there after work to see if they will give me some pieces to do some resin projects with!!!! This video was my confirmation because I was wondering if I should do it!!!💜💜💜

    At this point, I'm afraid my Cricut is destined for my daughter or daughter-in-law. I'm just not that motivated to get into my computer. It seems like after such an expensive investment, it should be used. Having just recently been evacuated due to flooding (Cricut got first choice of car space), it just... disillusioned me more. I'm so glad to see you using and enjoying yours.

    • @Toonpish
      @Toonpish  3 года назад +1

      Sorry to hear you was flooded out 🥲
      That’s very stressful 🥲
      I totally get the motivation thing too.
      What ever you decide, I’m sure someone will use it 😀👍❤️

    It's gorgeous! And thank you for bringing up the uv together with epoxy issue! Im always surprised when ppl use uv resin to seal shaker charms they have made with epoxy!😅😅😅 I'm sitting here thinking "oh they're gonna end up with a mess of baby oil all over!" Lol definitely need to encase them whole with uv if they want to do that safely I'd say! 😂 Even if I do that I'm always sure to sand it up roughly and clean again thoroughly!! I don't want my stuff falling apart or making a mess for my customers! 🙀

    • @Toonpish
      @Toonpish  3 года назад +1

      I don’t make shakers but would imagine it could cause a bit of a mess.
      I have seen videos of that particular use of UV resin and now I’ve tried it myself, I know it’s not advisable 🥴
      You sound very professional in your approach.
      Thanks for the comment, really appreciate it 😀👍

      You are too sweet 😅 like most of us, it's more of a live and learn type thing.. many tries, many fails lol. Been playing with resin only three years or so, but also watch a lot of tutorials so I feel like that has rly given me an upper hand! Ppl show how they make things, what works, what doesn't, rly helps me not to have to do AS MANY experiments on my own 🤣 so i very much appreciate when you and others take the time and put in all this work to teach us what u have learned too!! 🥰

    • @Toonpish
      @Toonpish  3 года назад +1

      Yes I totally agree as I am learning all the time and never want to stop learning 😂😂 that’s why I bought a cricut and I watch others who know about cricuts.
      I’m glad they put up the tutorials too 😀😀

    Have you tried using beading snippers? They are smaller than scissors and lighter, easier to cut vinyl with one hand

    Can I ask which epoxy you have used for the flood coat? I guess it is a bit of a thicker epoxy right? Otherwise it would drip off the edge while curing.

    • @Toonpish
      @Toonpish  3 года назад +1

      Oh it did drip off but I had the back coated with liquid latex and that just pops off the drips when cured 😀
      I believe it was vista cascade.
      One of my favourite ones as the price is not too bad.
      I did let it thicken a bit before pouring though.
      Thanks Unique Crafts😀 👍
