    Great in-depth review. My favorite part about the sight is, the people practically giving away landslydes when they "upgrade".

      Thank you for watching. Yeah, the secondhand market is wild. I very rarely buy new items unless I need to get them fast, but the new equipment coming out isn't any better than the stuff they're replacing. All the same, I also love the discount 👍

    this is a great review. I am a left-handed shooter and after purchasing my UV slider it took them 6 months to ship me the sight and you can imagine my disappointment when i received my sight and it was the upside-down version of the right-handed sight. This made me feel like a second-class hunter and left disappointed in UV as there was nothing on their website showing this is how the left-handed version was made.

      @@konnerlee5708 thank you for watching and for the kind words. I couldn't agree more.
      I still can't figure out what they were thinking. I know the left handed market is small (I'm also left handed but I was taught to shoot right-handed), but if they are going to cater to it, then it should be with a purpose-built product and not a cop-out like this.

    You can swap out cartridges with different arrow set ups in under a minute same as UV cartidges. From a engineering stand point its not difficult to make the pins adjustable but from a machinist standpoint you create a lot of weak points in your pin. The small screws that most companies use can easily strip, or snap. A static pin will always be more reliable and stronger. Just some of my reasoning why we went that route. Appericate the shot out and if you have any question always feel free to reach out!

      Thank you for watching and for the kind words. I am glad you found the information useful.
      I do not expect to be buying an Option Archery Canyon Pounder bow sight due to the price and because I do not use multi-pin sights, but the design appears to be solid and well-thought out. The ability to switch from multiple pins to a single pin sight picture makes the platform more versatile for different venues of hunting and target. So if that is something that is appealing to you, I believe they are the only company that offers it. If not, there are many other companies that offer excellent sights at a lower price point.
      Thanks again for checking out my content and I hope you have a pleasant archery season.

    Love your content, your honest view point and comparisons across the multiple offerings from various brands is second to none. Idk what your goals with youtube are but I think given your view point you could slice up portions of your various videos into shorts and get some more exposure if you so choose. Obviously you put a ton of effort into the review and your presentation which is a huge time commitment and additional time might not align with your goals and the other stuff you have going on. I was just thinking you deserve more exposure. I found you over on AT and enjoy you quite a bit.

      Thank you very much for watching and for the kind words. Also, thank you for the suggestion to cut up some clips and put them out as shorts. That's a good idea and I think I'm gonna start working on that.
      My goal with this channel is to be something of an "anti-influencer" and offer as much information, positive and negative about a product as I can compile. I'm also planning on letting the channel grow naturally without any artificial inflation of my subs and views. I know some people buy views and subscribers to look larger, and I find that distasteful.
      So, in any case, you're right and I need to started making Shorts.

    One sight I would love to see your review on is the CBE Trek pro micro 3V - One of those three pin vertical slider sites with adjustable pins. I find it, sturdy, lightweight for a slider, and reasonably priced at $350 from CBE. The one thing I don’t like about it is that the middle pin is fixed and centered in the middle of the housing so the top pin cannot be centered in the middle of the housing. So, I just removed the top pin and have a two pin with the top pin, always in the middle of the housing, because anal. Two pins is plenty for my Northeast hunting And they do make a V2, but it has fixed pins. This was the review I was waiting for for the Ultraview slider - Thanks for doing what you do.

    I recently received my uv slider and have been watching videos on it to best figure it out, which led me to your review. As far as reviews go, brother you flat put it out there. Probably the best review of a product I’ve ever seen. With that being said it was the longest 40 minutes of my life, I don’t think you ever once changed the tone of your voice, which is not the most pleasing, sorry just being honest. I need some emotion and a change of scenery every now and then, it’s you and that wall of releases pretty much the entire video, not good. One more thing that might help your videos, stop cutting them up so much, I thought there was a glitch in the matrix. Best of luck and hope to see improvement on the next one.

      Thank you for watching and for the constructive criticism. I don't have staff like the bigger channels to do my editing, production and camera work. So I'm doing the best I can.
      I can't guarantee I'm going to change things, since my goal is to provide information instead of infotainment, and evaluating things objectively can be pretty dry. The most emotion you'll see out of me is when I'm annoyed a manufacturer is trying to get away with something. I'm equally as deadpan in real life as I am in front of a camera.
      I write my scripts and format my videos so they can be listened to more than watched, and I recently started adding a foreword saying you can pop in earbuds and listen to them like a podcast and not miss anything. So feel free to forego the visual element if it looks too choppy.
      It's not easy reading from a script, and I'm only good for up to 60 seconds before I start flubbing my delivery. So the editing is to cut out breathing, stammering, verbal pauses, and it's where one written segment stops and the next one begins.
      Slowly but surely my production value will improve, and I do value the suggestions.
      Anyway, thank you again and I am glad you found the information useful.

    I have mounted a UV3 scope on my Hogg Father, I'm not looking anywhere else any time soon.
    The fixed middle pin on the UV is so you can swap cartridges without changing your zero. No need to redo sighttapes/marks when you decide to put a lens in for outdoor target or, need a single aiming reference if you decide to step onto the field course. I think it makes sense in that regard.

    Completely agree with your take on this slider and scope. My 3 biggest complaints are...
    1- No adjustable, vertical 3 pin.
    2- When purchasing the slider without the scope , the hardware for mounting previous ultraview scopes is not included.
    3- Windage detent adjustments need to be finer for longer range shots.
    The one thing I find most intriguing about this slider is the option to run double sight tapes. I shoot a hybrid hunting target bow and I like the fact that I can have my bow sighted with 75# or 80# mods for hunting and by just changing a mod be sighted to shoot target at 60# or 65# ...What are your thoughts on this?
    But I'm probably holding off until they make a vertical 3 pin with independent adjustability....just my preference

    • @ajbholsters2035
      @ajbholsters2035  6 месяцев назад

      Thank you very much for watching.
      I don't see why you couldn't run one tape on one side for a certain draw weight and then run a second tape on the other side for a lower draw weight. As long as you are using the same arrows, there shouldn't be anything else to tweak. You'd be over spined at the lower draw weight, but stiffer is better than weaker, and I've shot .200 spine target shafts out of a 50# bow and still hit where I was aiming.

      Did they not offer any videos on sighting it in? I don't follow Chris Bee, but I would have thought he would have been all over that. I gave up on wondering about people's reasoning for making odd decisions when I stopped working on the mental health industry.
      It's best not to waste brain power on figuring out why people do stupid things. There usually isn't a satisfying reason.
      I think it's in the written instructions that come with the sight, but, regardless, it's not terribly complicated. It's just different having to center the 30 pin first and adjust the 20 and 40 second.

    Only the vertical pin will allow the option of using magnification

    • @ajbholsters2035
      @ajbholsters2035  7 месяцев назад

      That's an interesting point. I would think the pins that aren't centered in the lens would have issues with parallax and distortion of the sight picture. A stacked vertical pin set wouldn't be any better, unless there's another variable in haven't considered.
      I guess I'll add that to my list of reasons why I don't understand the purpose of a multi pin scope on a slider sight 🤦.

  • @tonyallen8626
    @tonyallen8626 7 месяцев назад

    So you mount the sight on the right side of a left hand bow, do you have enough left and right adjustment?

    • @ajbholsters2035
      @ajbholsters2035  7 месяцев назад

      You would mount the sight same way as a typical left-handed sight (on the opposite side of the riser as the arrow shelf). The issue is the controls are all inverted because they turned a right handed sight upside down and remounted the scope (which is ambidextrous but the stalks for the adjustable 3-Pin would be facing from outside-in).
      So it's a very slapdash way of trying to cater to a left-handed customer without actually manufacturing the parts for a left-handed sight.

      @@jacobmartin1212 a sight that caught my eye recently was the CBE Trek Pro V3. It has a vertical pin stack with three pins that are independently adjustable. So you'd have a fixed 20/30/40 setup, and you can set one as a floater and use the metal sight tapes to dial in longer distances (depending on how far you plan on loosing arrows or if you do any 3D or target). Trophy Ridge has one with 5 adjustable vertical pins called the Livewire, though I don't think it's still made. There are tons of options available and I don't think there are any bad ones.
      Of course, if electronics are legal in your state for hunting, a Burris Oracle would be a great option for spot and stalk once you have it set up.
