  • @kayl5143
    @kayl5143 3 года назад +6

    You need to plug in on wall socket to make it work the powerline. and not to an extension socket for better performance. Is that true?

    • @SketchyOnReviews
      @SketchyOnReviews  3 года назад +4

      if you see the whole video. i did infact plug it to the wall. i even tested on different situations. both works , despite using extension cable. weirdly works right haha. but in the long run, the extension seems to show occasion presence of signal. so at the end i opted for wall socket. even with wall socket itself it has to be a favourable wall socket that needs to be a standalone no neighbouring socket and have to be nearest mount to the transmitter with at least 1 wall thick seperation. this is based on my experience with this. yes i am aware the word powerline ( exclusively for wall mounting socket )

    • @Daniel-dj7fh
      @Daniel-dj7fh 3 года назад

      technically it would work, but you might get interference with an extension

    Is it alright to plug the powerline adapter & extender into extension sockets instead of wall sockets? I heard that it's best to plug it directly into wall sockets to avoid any interference. Is it true? =)

    • @SketchyOnReviews
      @SketchyOnReviews  4 года назад +3

      haha thats the thing, its true better to a wall socket directly. but as can see from the video, theres 2 ways i did , and both of them worked and connected either being extender and wall socket. mythbusted 😂👍 BUT. in the long run, better wall socket.

      i have 3 socket on my room. the extender doesn't work at 1 socket, works but very slowly on the 2nd socket and works fully at 3th socket. Also it doesn't work on extension socket, it works but not fast on 3th socket mounted extension socket, very wierd...
      i think the wall socket are on different power cord. try it and do a speed test on each wall socket

    • @silentserge89

      Doesnt matter as long as the whole power circuit in your house are connected to the main DB, unless....your hosue got 2 different DB and you connecting 1 set on each another...then they cannot communicate...

  • @arahant69

    I find as i use the same ssid (cloned my hub) as my hub for 3 x 8630p powerlines i have to turn my wifi on and off on my phone to connect to the strongest extender. Don't think there is a way around this as those that come in a pair share same ssid and an extra one will just share the same wifi password as the original 2. Annoying that phones can't pickout the strongest wifi from same ssid's without need to seitch on/off wifi on mobile phone but hey it only takes a second.

    • @ruebzmac7367
      @ruebzmac7367 3 года назад +1

      Wouldn’t work mate as they’re on DIFFERENT PHASES…it would only work on sockets you have one the same phase.

    • @Brianchan76
      @Brianchan76 2 года назад

      You have to know which plugs are connected in 1st phase. Previously I'm encountered one of the phases not electric and my router power also affected so that I know which plugs are linked to which phase.

    • @SketchyOnReviews
      @SketchyOnReviews  4 года назад

      this 2 things need to be together in order for it to work.
      the adapter you mean the source plug ?
      need to have the source & receiver.

    • @arahant69
      @arahant69 2 года назад

      Technolically you could run a flat ethernet cable from tbe hub to the sender and that would send out a wifi signal without the need of the receiver. I have tested this theory by turning of my hubs wifi abd the sender does indeed send out wifi too.

    I'm a little confused... On the box it says I can clone my current WI-Fi network meaning it will be the same SSID and password but inside the box there is another SSID and password used to connect to it. All I want is for it to extend the WI-FI connection from my router to the other part of the house where there is shitty connection. I don't really wanna fiddle with connecting to a new network, I just want it to use the same network and automatically have the same speeds and connection as if I were next to my router. Would this still work? 🤔
