can we get a defense 201 for people that now the basics but want a little bit more defense. every game feels like who gets ball last/ who gets one stop lol
I’ve had so many defensive games and defense isn’t as hard as people make seem yall jus needa study the opponent across the game and his tendencies and never run man coverage
What I would recommend to people is try and predict the play, but only predict a run if your absolutely certain they’re gonna run the ball or you’ll get burned on a deep route because you safety’s move up. What I typically do is predict the pass, if I’m wrong, they’ll get a 7 yard run max. Then I control my LB’s manually. Follow the running back or play zone coverage in the middle. My biggest complaint with this game is your player ratings don’t account for difficulty. What I mean by this is if your on higher difficulty, it increases the abilities of all the opposing players, while making your players arguably worse. I can have an O Line with higher ratings than the opposing D-Line but they’ll still get burned anytime I run the ball on high difficulty.
Why is this as difficult as being an actual defensive coordinator? Ain’t no way this many people actually understand the nuances of football. Good lord. Also, I just got beat by La Tech on varsity level.
lol took me way too long to realize my controller vibrates when I’m aiming off target. Once I figured that out I got better. In dynasty I was the number one team in the country with a kicker that was 4 for 13 on field goals.
Gap discipline is huge against the run. Don’t slant or pinch the d line. Lots of outside runs I’ve stuffed by playing a DE and essentially pushing outside to force the run back in and the LBs easily clean it up.
I truly wish this game played half as well as it looks. The blocking and pass coverage system is absolutely broken. You can plot and scheme all you want but you can’t scheme for missed blocks on 90% of plays or your speedy corner somehow getting cooked by slow tight ends on the edge
Even the CPU can't play defense. I was sinming all defense and just playing offense on a Dynasty with South Alabama and we lose 64-63 in overtime. I scored a touchdown in OT and got the extra point but the defense proceeded to give up a touchdown and a 2 pount conversion and that was it.
I had a road to glory game where Boise beat me (Hawaii) 63-61 in triple OT.. we didn’t get a single stop on defense all game and the only time I didn’t score was the 2PT conversion in the third OT 😭
Careful when pinching the DL. For some reason pinching DL puts DB’s in press. The only way to take them out of press is to give cushion even when you don’t really want to.
What I realized is this a college game that wants the score to show how explosive CFB can be. The only way to beat this out score the CPU which is also hard
