maplewoodspi can help you to make a motor at home, it is very easy. no, the keys are not moving. the english pianola keys dont move. they are balancet that they dont move if the player plays. only the first and last keys move if player piano works. so is the play with the pneumatic much better and easier. if you are playing yourself the keys move so easy like on a baby grand, not like on an upright.
