Those are all great tips overall! Having a bike there would totally be essential for getting around Amsterdam! I agree too that networking is a great idea. It's great to have friends around especially when moving somewhere new. It will make the experience even better!

Hi Jessica, thank you for all the information, I really got confused 😂. And as you know, I am Dutch.
So when someone moves to the Netherlands, they have to register at cityhall to get a burgerservice number.
That I can follow.
But to register, you need to have a place where you live. So you have to have bought or rented a place.
For that you need a bank account in the Netherlands otherwise you can’t rent or get a mortgage.
To get a bank account you need a burgerservice number.
Now I really get confused as you go in circles here.
Any idea how this is going to work?

That's the problem. It is confusing. We found someone who would rent to us (temporarily) and let us register just to get the BSN before Sean had a job and before we had a bank account. I can't wrap my head around it otherwise. But as most people seem to move with a company, it's much easier.
Learn to ride a bike???? Everybody learns that at age 3....

Have enjoyed watching your videos. My wife and I have been discussing moving to NL since last April 2022 under the DAFT visa.
My biggest fear is, being an entrepreneurial visa, I'll have a hard time earning money there.
I am not a corporate person so it is unlikely that I'd move under an employment visa.
So confused! Any suggestions?
The only advice I have is to start to the work before you move so you are already making money and know you'll have clients. But then it can get tricky because you'll want to use your Dutch bank account and they would need to be okay with that change. I didn't come on the DAFT, so I'm afraid I can't give you better advice.
