Fortunately The 165HR13 Michelin XAS is available for the standard BMW 2002. However we are very fortunate in that Pirelli have made the 185/70VR13 Cinturato CN36 which is of course perfect fopr the 2002 ti, 2002 tii or BMW 2002 turbo.
Of course this selection of BMW 2002 tyres is also perfect for the BMW 1602, BMW 1802 and BMW 1502.

Just bought a 1974 2002, and mostly stock but with a Weber carb and a 5 speed, but nothing major done under the hood. Curious about the Michelin XDX or the XAS, vs the CN36. Any help and info with the pro's and con's of each, what's the real difference between each of them etc. Also, I'm looking to keep it as stock and stock looking as possible.

Hey I got a question so I am going to start daily driving my 1974 2002 with the 165 HR 13 tires would you recommend going to the next size up?

the michelin is poor tyre in rain . The next is 185/70r13 but aks BMW what rims and technical requirements your car needs.
