The channels I watch are usually the ones I like hanging out with. I can't imagine spending a half hour watching someone I don't enjoy hanging out with. That is a slick technique for cutting that tree.
I agree with that. And thank you ma’am! I appreciate the kind words. Ty for always taking time to watch and comment. Take care and come back when ya can!
Yessir, you bet! Thank you for always being an encourager. I appreciate it! Thank you for taking time to watch and comment. Take care and do come again.
You sure have created a channel where is it fun to come and watch and also feel included in what you are doing. Very informative for people like me who don’t cut trees for a living but seeing there is the little intricate things that need to be done in order to stay safe in the woods. God bless Zach and I’m grateful for your time you share with all of us!
Thank you, buddy! That truly means a lot to me, because that is the exact environment I have been trying to create for sometime now. I want people from all walks of life to be able to come here and hang out. Whether they enjoy logging, chainsaws, horses, mules, or anything that we do… I want it to be an environment people can come and relax. And just enjoy themselves! I am glad to hear that you do… Thank you so much! And thank you for your time… Take care my friend and do come again.
Good video. People who cut timber, either for production felling or just clearing or for firewood, need prayers. It's dangerous work and need prayers and professional advice.
Yessir that’s a fact! I’ve been at it a long time, and I still get nervous with certain ones. I know to respect it!!! Ty for taking time to watch and comment. And the kind words! Take care my friend and do come again, please
It's been a great week for me. I'm behind watching your videos because of helping at my church VBS. Then to watch an informative video with just tops it off. God bless, my brother
Yes, sir buddy, glad to do it. And good to hear from you. I will call you as soon as possible. Thanks for taking time to watch comment as always. Take care and do come again.
Thank you my friend! I’m glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for taking time to watch and comment. And thx for the prayers! Always…take care and do come again, please
Thank you sir! Glad ya enjoyed it. Yes, safety above everything else. You wanna go home to family safety every day. Thanks for always taking time to watch and comment. Take care and do come again, please!
Very interesting, if you could mount a hydraulic winch on the skid steer you could have rolled the log off the stump. I've never did a third cut as you did I'm going to study it more for my hardwoods. Thanks for sharing
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it and could get something from it. A winch would be handy, but it would also be something else to keep up also. Thank you for taking time to watch and comment as always. Take care and come again.
Zach your exactly right about leaning trees my uncle was a logger for many years. He was finishing a boundary trying to get all he could for the land owner who was in need of money. He cut a leaning tree don't know if he was tired or miss judged the tree or what happened the tree split up the trunk and he couldn't get out of the way it came down and hit him in the chest he didn't live but a minute. I know you don't need the advice but be extremely careful. It's good you show people these things cutting timber is dangerous work. Keep up the good work. I enjoy your videos 😢
I am very sorry to hear that my friend! I have had several people I have known through the years that got killed cutting timber. It is very dangerous work and very hard work! That is why I take my time and move slow! I have been cutting timber now almost 25 years. I have had several close calls… And I know the good Lord was looking after me! That is why I do what I do now. Thank you so much for the kind words and taking time to watch and comment! Take care my friend and do come again.
Ash is the easiest for not cutting it right and splitting up the middle! you think walking under a ladder is bad luck, you ought to try a hung-up tree! Have a nice day!
Haha! Yessir I’d say you’re right. And def right on the ash or a darned ole hickory. You gotta thin hinge them suckas..thx for watching my friend!! Take care and as always, do come again!
Yessir, you are welcome. And thank you for such kind words… I will do my best to live up to that! Thank you for taking time to watch and comment. Take care and do come again.
That is a very entertaining video! My wide and I really enjoyed watching it! I pray that you will be safe out there and God bless you and your family always my friend!
Good deal! I’m glad y’all enjoyed it and will do my friend. Thank you kindly. Thank yall for taking time to watch and comment. I appreciate it. Take care and do come again, please
Thanks Zach always enjoy watching your vids brother and your method is very effective. When I'm felling hard leaners I use the old school method, the same method that the old guys used when using a cross cut saw and that is get super low on the front cut and take out a nice directional wedge, then I just get 2ft or 3 ft higher on the back cut and just cut straight into the tree as you would if you were felling a normal leaning tree, never had any tree ever split back or barber chair over the last 35 yrs cutting.
Thank you kindly my friend. One thing I’ve learned about life, is there always more than one way to effectively get something done. More people could stand to learn that concept lol. Thx buddy! Thx for taking time to watch and comment. Take care and do come again, please
Thank Ya Sir !! enjoy watching a Man that knows what he's doing , good info helps us all !! I got a big Post Oak that half the top twisted out , as it caused the tree to split almost to the ground. Was thinking about how to go about cutting it? Thought about cutting the one side with no top first, then the other side , which needs to be pulled to keep it off my fence, its about 24 inches thru the trunk.
Those wind shook trees can be challenging because they’re hard to read. Where and what you think they’re going and doing, will be completely different. I would have someone that knows what they’re doing for sure to look at it. No offense intended. But those type trees are super super dangerous. Even if ya just get a second opinion. And then proceed to cut it yourself. Am I making sense? Thank you for taking time to watch and comment. Take care my friend and do come again, anytime!
The way you cut that leaner is totally different than the way I personally cut it myself I would have used the t cut to cut it that's the safest way to do it and not let it barberchair on you
@zachodom7486 a t cut is when you cut your lead cut out of the direction you want it to fall in and after you cut your lead and take the tipend of your bar and bore into the back of it and cut it up to the lead and the you pull it back out of it and cut around the back of it until you get to the other side of it and then you bore into it again from that side and cut it up to the lead again and after that you simply cut the hunk of meat lose and it's gone and it doesn't have a chance to barberchair then
@zachodom7486 the reason you have to bore into it from both sides is because your leaving a two or three inch strip on the back of it so you can cut it to totally release it to fall
@@MooseBurke8881ok. The main thing is, is that it works for you. I use this step stump a good bit and also a “tongue and groove” cut. Which is almost the same except, you set your notch..bore in behind it about a bar width or so to set your hinge; then drop down about 2” or so below that cut, bore in again and cut about a bars width or little more; then bore in again level with your first back cut; and go right out the back. Same principle as the step stump, but it’ll hold a little more. Different species are different no doubt. But those two cuts, I’ve used for years on forward leaners and always had good luck. Bore cutting in general is best imho. You have time to set that hinge before releasing it. Anyway, good talking! Thanks again for watching and commenting. Good to hear from you. Take care and stay safe
Sounds like you have been there also haha!! I know exactly what you mean… Small world. Thank you for the laugh and also for taking time to comment. Take care and do come again.

And the ants boiling out of the saw cuts indicate there is rot in that tree, so further precaution is needed. Good demo.

Why do you have to be so far away cause you know I need a lot of trees cut. Just be careful with Zach. I know you will.
I sure will Auntie! Love you and thank you…
