It is pretty cool to see how Jason's skills have improved since he stepped out of the real estate world and became a Perkin's builder. That says a lot about you guys.
Eric, thanks for giving Jaime a lot more room to opine on his thinking and his ideas. Yes, he can be verbose, but he does a great job and he’s aware of his need to be “verbally minimal”. My brother is WAY more talkative, but he tends to raise the dB levels, which Jaime doesn’t do!! Thanks for another great video.
Love seeing the rebar and concrete. Here in the island of enchantment🇵🇷 all of our doors and windows are custom made to be able to fit perfectly just like Jamie was explaining. Keep up the good work; we’re all enjoying this series!!!
thanks for bringing in Max, the younger guy, to learn from the experienced builders. Great experience for him, and who knows, he might come back and be the next Arlo!?
Threaded rod is typically for your hold downs. Love the series so far, I am a building inspector and builder and just started a build about the same time as this series began. I am filming my build for the first time, hoping to start a youtube channel of my own inspired by your video. Looking forward to the rest of the series, thank you for sharing!
This is some build way outside your comfort zone it's going slow to start and will catch up later. Looks good just watching the plans taking place. Wow from the UK.
You have no idea how many memories this brings back for me. I've used this system many a time, one of the most memorable was to form an underground tank under a garage. of course it was "ME" who got to strip it after the pour but that's ok. I've always loved the ease at which these panels would go together & just as importantly, strip! Though I am in Australia, they seem to be exactly the same as what we used some 20-30 years ago. I dearly miss construction & if there is one thing I can take from watching you guys, is probably the main reason was the guys I worked with over so many years is what made it so good!! If only age & better health were on my side, I'd be back there in a heartbeat, Thankyou for the memories, great comradery & commitment to good workmanship! 👍
Pro tip - Keep as much of the form release agent off the rebar by spraying the shuttering panels before you mount them. Some inspectors will not be happy if there's a lot of release agent on the reinforcing steel.
I love watching you guys work. Looking forwards to when your finally ready to pour concrete. I once watched some guys in the Azores set up forms and pour concrete as the base for a new Radome for a new tower and radar system I was installing back when I was in the Air Force. They used very little rebar, but the base only had to support the weight of the Radome and the panels are just fiberglass.
There's always a first time for everything. That said, it's quite a testament to the high quality results in your company's buildings history for someone to entrust you in; for your FIRST time, a project of this magnitude requiring this extreme level of brains and brawn. Sincere mega congratulations!
Respect to you guys, lifting all those steel components is a strength draining exercise, especially in humid conditions. Great build, waiting for the concrete to be poured. Take care, he safe and well.
Let Jamie talk! I like to learn. Jamie does all the work no one else wants to do. So, I can't even picture what is going on here. I have watched you build houses & this has never been done. Love these kids. Be kind to each other. Stay safe. Love to all

To space the rebar from the floor or top of doorways or even forms, you can buy little concrete blocks with some wires sticking out. You tie them onto the rebar.
Super great video and series! The header that Jamie describes as steel and concrete would preferably just be called a "concrete beam" and it would need reinforcement which is the steel bar you place inside. Keep up the great work 🤟
