Because of your video I decided to take a class... This morning in Florence in a little atelier in front of Palazzo Pitti I had a class with a man that was 5th generation artisan in book binding and marble paper. I was amazed at what I achieved in one hour. I understood 90% of what Guido was telling me. Now I want to do more!
Sylvie Vicenza: That is fantastic! I’m excited that you have discovered how easy Marbling can be, with proper materials and a good teacher. Please visit www.marblingsupplies.com and consider purchasing The Serious Beginner’s Marbling Kit. I have shipped successfully to over 50 different countries. 🙂
@@marblingsupplies Oh thank you for sharing this reference. I just learned about Ebru, as the Turkish call it and I would love to learn, as I have an idea I’d like to use it for a home decor idea.

This is wonderful, I just love the piece you made. What thickens the water? At the end you said you rinse and then hang to dry, why doesn't your design come off when you rinse? How long does it take to dry? Would love to try this, thank you for sharing.
All good questions.. Carageenan is used to thicken the water. Aluminum Sulphate is used to make the design bond permanently with the paper (paper is not special but I choose to use a Japanese printmaking paper called Masa) and drying takes about 45 minutes indoors and less outdoors. All of these items and instrucitons are available for purchase at www.marblingsupplies.etsy.com.
