I never went to little Tokyo in LA but I had my very first Sushi back in 1996 in Japan town San Francisco with my Japanese girlfriend, now wife. Don't know when I'm back in LA but definitely will visit this place. Thanks for sharing.
This is so awesome! Thank you for sharing. I had no idea there was a Japanese American National Museum in LA. I love that your videos share things to do in LA from a local's perspective (your content is super unique and stands out from the crowd, as I've typically only seen "Things to do in LA" videos from tourist creators). Do you have any local safety tips/parking tips while visiting places like Little Tokyo or Exposition Park? As a visitor, I'm just trying to learn more about safety while sight seeing in LA. Are the surrounding areas a little more sketchy?
thank you!! i'm glad I got JANM on your radar because it's one of the best places to learn about Japanese American history. In terms of safety & parking..⤵️ - DTLA: always give yourself extra time to look for parking, there are a lot of great lots to park in close to Little Tokyo. Some lots even take validation if you eat or shop in the main plaza. - Exposition Park: I always park in the lot for the CA Science Center. There are lots of spaces there and the lot is close to all the museums in the area. - Safety: I'm always cautious/avoid walking in those areas at night. I only do that when I'm with friends. I tend to stay around the areas where there's a lot of foot traffic. In DTLA especially, you'll KNOW when you get to the sketchy parts. The vibe will change. That's why I usually drive or call an uber to go to different areas in DTLA versus walk (even if it's somewhat closeby). But that's a personal preference. I hope this helps!
