    I love your videos and how much helpful information you pack into them.
    I always used to get chin acne before my period when I was a teenager, but now I'm in my thirties it doesn't really happen anymore so it definitely seems to be a condition that gets better with age.
    In a lot of your previous videos you mention the thyroid and how it affects our body and overall health, so I was wondering whether you could make a video dedicated specifically to the thyroid, how to keep it healthy and conditions such as hyper and hypothyroidism.
    Keep up the good work, I always look forward to your videos and have learnt a lot!

    Used to have minor hormonal acne, but going WFPB definitely improved things.

      Yeah WFPB is pretty great for skin! My skin definitely looks the best when I don't eat all the vegan junkfood lol ;)

    I can’t believe I just now found this channel! I am terrified to come off of 4 years of hormonal birth control because I don’t want my skin to freak out. I’ve been vegan (mostly Whole Foods for nearly 5 years and still get breakouts). I’d love a video on the things to do to regulate hormones directly after coming off the pill. You’re so knowledgeable and absolutely glowing, so glad you exist :)

      Thats a great video idea! I will definitely create a video on that.. thank you! In the mean time the book Period Repair Manual by Lara Briden might be really helpful for you to read :)

    I cut out milk and it has helped so much, am plant based which is further helping, I went for actives in my skin care as well but have sensitive rosecha (red skin) skin and destroyed my skin barrier, went to a specialist that told me to back off all and strip it back to a simple and nourishing skin care routine w hylaronic acid as well, as the skin barrier has to be healthy theeeeen you can add actives:) thank you 🙏 your videos are on point, is so good!

      Thats awesome! I am glad you talked to a specialist who was able to help you, sometimes too much is too much and a basic routine can help the most

    Can you make a video on the Daysy? Would love to hear your thoughts!

    • @CrystalKennings
      @CrystalKennings  3 года назад

      I have never used one so it would be hard for me to review it. With that being said, I do have a lot of thoughts about it. I do not think its a safe form of birth control because it only tracks temperature which is not a fertility sign that can tell you when you are in your fertile window... so it can put people at risk for unplanned pregnancy.. especially because it relies on an algorithm to tell you when your 'safe' or 'unsafe' days are. It might be conservative in the number of unsafe days it "predicts" but I am not sure. If it is used along with cervical mucus tracking, and by following the strict rules of the double check sympto thermal fertility awareness method, it's much safer, but at that point it just an expensive thermometer.

    Thank you for another great video Crystal!❤️ I'm vegan for 2 years now and never had skin problems before.... before i went off birth control pill (was on it for 3 years)... Holy mother of God, it was a year, a whole year of fighting with acne because of massive hormonal shifts. My periods were completely messed up as well (what is to be expected, but still very unpleasant). I never had bad skin even when I was a teenager and then at the age of 30 my whole face was like a massive pimple explosion! I looked like worse than teenagers I took the train to work with! Thank God we needed to wear masks 😅 I knew it can't lie on my diet as I eat pretty clean and 100% plant-based. So I tried topping treatments, also had Ordinary's Niacimide+Zinc serum and low dosage retinol-creams - nothing worked. I did hormonal tests about 6 Months after getting off the pill and everything was totally normal. So in the end my dermatologist prescribed me antibiotic-ointment (bad stuff, but it was my last resort) and everything got better within a week. But the trigger was definitely the hormonal imbalance after the pill use - I just wanted to point out how hormones affect our skin, and it's massive!

    For me rinsing my face with water more often and eating more whole foods helps, I have sensitive skin so I can't really use a lot of skin care products out there.

    Sleeping enough is huge for me. If I don't sleep my cortisol elevates and I break out like crazy. I finally have been able to quit a stressful job and focus on other antistress exercises. I also realized that drying out my skin never helped and my lesions and bumps healed faster with intense moisture. I alway oil my skin now before washing with a light, natural ingredient cleanser mixed with aloe gel.

    I did all the aggressive treatments except accutane, nothing ever worked and some made the cycle much worse. Apparently age is my only helper haha at 34 I’m finally seeing LESS acne but still not clear skin. My Sola Renew serum that’s infused with traditional Chinese herbs seems to be the best oil/ serum for me. I don’t even make it past ovulation before my jaw starts breaking out though, so annoying. My mom battled it into her 50’s so I’ve just accepted it for what it is haha
