trinity scepter actually has better dps and weighs less since the bone crusher is a slow hitter you lose 10% attack speed and trinity scepter is a fast hitter so it gains 10% making trinity scepter 20% faster and lighter for slightly worse damage on hit
@@SheenShots Attack speed charm, stagger charm, reach charm, all are good. Have you ever just stagger fucked the last boss out of existence because greathammer tier stagger, with extra stagger from charm, with natural fast hitter does... things? To be clear I'm not saying he won't move at all, but.... less, and it DOES NOT take much time with greathammer damage.
Goldenwine's damage buff doesn't stack with holy/elemental buffs in Enhanced Mode. Also, afaik, buffs in Enhanced no longer scale with base but instead with total weapon damage. Huge bonks ftw!
S&S is kickass. RUclips suggestions doing something right for a change! I remember watching through a bunch of your Outward vids a while back. You got good taste in games, lad.
That's the plan. I want to try out all the weapon types for both games actually. The sequel is loads different in many ways but the weapons types are probably cooler there.
Since 2-handing a weapon gives you x1.5 STR, you only need 34 strength to hit the soft cap; making strength builds hit harder earlier in a run and have more room to spend points on things like endurance or stamina
Was curious if you knew about the other attack chains every weapon has? I'm pretty sure all you do is hold up or down and attack for these (its been awhile lol) but yeah sometimes its mid but on something like the scythe its absolutely insane literally turns the weapon class into S tier
I always do a warhammer without buffs, with the scissors as a side weapon. Only difference with this is no scissors, but you at least have buffs. Yeah, the enemies with blunt resistance and holy resistance can be a pain for sure, but this type of run doesn't seem too bad in my eyes. Fun to see the huge chonky hits once you get the buff on though!
I think one of my favorite builds I've done in Salt and Sanctuary was a Great Ax/Great Hammer build. Took some grinding but it's fun to switch between them for each enemies weakness
Loving these S&S video and can't wait to see more, but I gotta agree that you're sleeping on the Trinity Scepter. The number isn't telling the whole story, it swings MUCH faster than other options. Easily the highest DPS of the hammers, and safer too, since faster swings means faster recovery. If you're looking for drip to match, the Resplendent set looks great with it if you can stomach the weight. Even without buffs Trinity Hammer + Respendent and a few Goldenwines will trivialize NG+.
As someone who runs a Paladin style build with heavy hammers, joining Devara and using those holy enhancements would've worked better; you wouldn't need to deal with spells and stamina loss, plus they last a full minute.
i notice that the regular hammer was named the mountain breaker but the mega hammer was named the bonecrusher, i feel like those two should have been switched, anyways, i wonder what youll do next, maybe greatswords, or magic only, only time will tell i guess
Ya I had thought that as well. Don't get me wrong, both names are top dogs, but something that breaks a mountain is still weaker than a bonecrusher. Seems odd lol
Okay 😂 people will rag on Dark Souls for having those giant hammers, but DAMN these greathammers here are just COMICALLY LARGE! 🤣 It's quite sad that in Salt and Sacrifice they made zero giant weapons, with even the Twohanders and Greatswords being no larger than a typical Claymore.
Pretty much how my first playthrough way back when went, though I switched to the giant anchor when I'd found it for the end of the game. Really need to go try a randomizer playthrough now that it's in the base game.
Hey sheen i just recently started playing outward and I rlly love and trust your videos, could u pls make a battle mage build for the caldera slayer set, im bad at dodging so i rely on the damage res, even if its a short pls 🙏
Pretty nice video over all but I feel like it misses the mark in a lot of places with only half right information and odd build choices. Here's an example of both, you mentioned that the obsidian pillar has the highest base damage in the game but failed to mention that it also has the 5th worst strength scaling in the game too, and just before that you dumped several levels into strength. You also completely failed to mention that the bonecrusher attacks slower than other greathammers and didn't mention that the Trinity Sceptre actually attacks faster than other greathammers making it much better than you implied, I understand the complaint about the cost and late obtainment but to imply its worse over all is just wrong imo. Always happy to see more S&S content but I hope you look into the ins and outs of weapons more before doing these types of runs. If you want a tip I'd recommend not bothering with magic if you're just buffing with it and instead using the item version of the buff, it does pretty much the exact same thing but you don't waste levels on it, that and trying more than just holy when a boss isn't taking much damage. Here's the changelog for the enhanced mode, it has both the changes between modes listed and the individual stats for each mode, docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GuCT_8wXVu2NXFNZKnLGB2vmbGSVEMcxqND0OgIJYP8/edit?gid=132337245#gid=132337245
Sorry but this is a nonsense video, as are several of the S & S ones you put up. Where you blatantly act like their is a challenge to using weapons (like great hammers) that are clearly broken overpowered. A shame, because I thought I would find true S & S challenge videos similar to the backlogs here. But most of them are not even worth watching. :(
So you clearly don't understand the point of these videos and that's fine. Not everyone has to like anyone's content. However, I find it incredibly rude to say my work is nonsense especially after I have clearly explained the intent of these videos several times in them. I am TRYING ALL THE WEAPONS and playstyles in the game. Sometimes I add an extra challenge like no charms, no rings, etc. Other times I just go to see the items full power for the heck of it. Backlogs never even posted videos on several of the weapon types. Different creator, different videos. I did not need to read this comment and frankly should not have gotten it. I will choose how I play the game and you can choose what to watch. End of discussion.
@@SheenShots Nah, I read English fine, thanks. You worded your title to be deliberately like the backlogs videos; inferring it was a challenge run. Knowing full well what crowd it would attract. You even outright called it a challenge run in the description; there is NOTHING challenging about using this weapon set. You also did the same in several other videos. So no, it's not that I don't "understand" the point of the videos. It's that you were dishonest. To bait in people. I'm done. You can feel free to block me now. Ah I always forget to double check the tags on each weapon. Add on the attack speed charm and that might be really darn good.
"trinity scepter actually has better dps and weighs less"
To each there own, but Trinity Scepter just don't have that BONK energy :D

Ya the game is really fun to get into with a surprising amount of build options honestly.
Really like these salt and sanctuary videos, hope you'll get to the sequel and that magic only outward video one day.
That's the plan. I want to try out all the weapon types for both games actually. The sequel is loads different in many ways but the weapons types are probably cooler there.
I came here from the Backlogs recommendation, stayed for the great run.
Since 2-handing a weapon gives you x1.5 STR, you only need 34 strength to hit the soft cap; making strength builds hit harder earlier in a run and have more room to spend points on things like endurance or stamina
I see what you meant by co-op shenanigans! I would have NEVER thought of that. Now I can start my scythe character out on the right foot.
Wow, I love this weapon class and I've never even used one, much less pulled one out of my inventory to see it. Very fun build, very big neuron firing
Absolutely insane seeing these challenge runs.
I've beat the game once, not even NG+
This is nuts. Gotta try more.

I think I am doing greataxe soon. Someone claimed it was really fun so I'm canna give it a shot.

Well I guess I'll give it a shot. I was really close to just transmuting it for the last two fights anyway just to test. Sounds like I should have lol

Used these hammers and holy magic on my first playthrough.
It was very fun
Ya the setup before each boss fight is pretty fun. Without the mana potions its a nightmare. Had to get a few as soon as I realized I could.

It's quite sad that in Salt and Sacrifice they made zero giant weapons, with even the Twohanders and Greatswords being no larger than a typical Claymore.
I think there's a ring that reduces the stamina drain but I can't remember where it is.
Oh and I believe using a magic refill potion removes the stamina drain.
yeah, its hammer time
Pretty much how my first playthrough way back when went, though I switched to the giant anchor when I'd found it for the end of the game. Really need to go try a randomizer playthrough now that it's in the base game.
I am debating on which greataxe to use for that weapon run. Giant anchor looked like the coolest option tbh.
@@SheenShots Getting used to just how slow it is was rough, but the damage and novelty of swinging an anchor was hard to pass up.
