The False Jester takes his name from pretending to be the real jester who is just behind his room (who gives you the ceiling walking brand).
you’re right his jokes way funnier now
And he is always upside down, and palace is upside down mayve jester is the real nameless god and nammeless god is just one more pretenter
With The Nameless God, I think the fall damage was triggered to simulate your character bowing to him/her
I never thought of it that way...interesting
Yes, that's exactly what the devs were aiming for. Remember the first dialogue with the Scarecrow: "And one day, when it finds itself beaten and broken, gasping for air, choking on its own blood and tears... That will be the day that it kneels. And I will consume it."
Yeah that was the first thing I thought off. I jumped down, saw the landing animation and was like "Wait..."
Azazel Larmore that is actually official, it is to make it look like you're bowing
no shit sherlock !
I knew the Witch of the Lake was going to be tough when I noticed how close and monster free the path from the nearest respawn point was.
Sodden Knight, Kraekan Wyrm, and Bloodless Prince all have short runbacks too, all with no enemies, and they're all pretty easy (Wyrm is just straight bs, not hard. If it never started fire breath off screen, no one would die to him)
@@dragoslayer1327 You think? I've got over 200 hours on S&S and I've never once died to the flying attack. It's always the fire breathing or the tailwhip, bc the fire is hard to dodge and the tailwhip has difficult timing. I genuinely think, considering at what point in the game the wyrm is, it's one of the hardest bosses in the game. Witch of the lake is a no brainer of course, I've beaten her on NG+7 and you basically get 2 or 3shot by every single little projectile she fires. You have to play the fight perfectly and that got harder since they patched out long jump :D
When I first fought the queen of smiles,my character looked exactly like the bodies on the walls
The game does that. Adds your character(s) as random stock bodies around the area
If you're playing online, other characters can join the list.
@@DynoSkrimisher True, anytime you die in certain area the game will "add" your character as backround. In village or forest, you can even see your own character in backround if you play different character in the same session.
Holy shit. That joke at the end made me spit my coffee.
Tyler Pederson I love that band so much, but holy fuck, was that a good joke lmao
I had no idea John Mulaney played salt and sanctuary
I have never played Salt and Sanctuary but watching this video made me buy it!
Anthony Carver it was my goty of 2016. So damn good
Mike G mine too
What I love most is that it's co-op
This souls-like game made me play bloodborne and dark souls. So awesome.
I am about to play it now to the first time. I hope it will make me a Dark Soul
And number one: spindlebeast
Such an awesome underrated game
Underrated? Its one of the most followed souls likes behind hollow knight and stuff
@maybecoolperson7466 bro you're replying to a comment from 5 years ago lmao
@@stinkychalupalmao
Bro playing a magic user was like an easy mode. All the bosses go down so quick with fire barrages
Mike G And arcane spells
blood magic is just plain cheeze, especially the homing spell.
Real men went mage, converted to the Order of the Betrayer and used all the blood magic to beat the witch at her own game
Never liked the blood spells myself. I just alternate between Fire Barrage and Lightning Barrage while using Sky Crystal and Clarity. Buffed damage, easily managed elemental imbalance, and infinite focus thanks to clarity, since when you hit something with a multi-hitting spell like the barrage ones, it refills focus faster than you can use it up.
I used a 2H for the first playthrough.. super easy.. stun locking all the bosses.. NG+ and the 2H showed its weakness.. NG+2 and im now going full magic and the game sudden got extremely easy again lol.
Your humor is honestly my favorite on the internet, like, I never get bored of you man 10/10 or whatever
I just love the fact that the souls series inspired so many other great games like this. It looks like so much fun and it’s less than 1/3 the cost of a new AAA game. I’ll be picking this one up after I finish Ashen and hollow knight. Thank you for the video, it was well-made.
God I adore your lists. Please keep on with listing things.
Surprised the Jester and Stankyball didn't get easiest, especially considering we both did strength heavy greatsword builds.
i've waited so so long for this video, and i'm not even mad. i'm so glad i finally get to hear this new beautiful content of one of my favorite games
First time I fought witch I was playing with my sister and it took us like 20 times . Secound time I was a mage using fire barrage and I obliterated her on the 2nd try
You deserve more subscribers all your video are great especially your boss ranking videos and despite what some people in these comments might say you make good jokes.
Its like if Darkest Dungeon and Bloodborne had a baby, glorious
Helll yeah! I love this game and am glad you’re playing it!
Having watched your playrhrough, I'm just gonna go ahead and guess that witch of the lake is number 1
the real trick for her is wearing the armor of the queen of smiles. it has super high arcane resistance and kept me from being one shot by any of her attacks
@@shacuras8201 Also that if you make sure to never get too far away, her attacks are rather predictable.
@@shacuras8201 welp not on sl1 tho)
I beat it no dmg first try accidentaly lol
She's easy as freak if she doesn't hit you.
Glad you finally did this Kev, keep it up man
The list overall depends on the class though. Having played an AGI-based Thief build and later tried a STR-based Paladin build, I can say that the game becomes significantly easier and a lot of bosses that I struggled with become easier than others. For example, I actually had more trouble with the Nameless God as my Thief character than the Witch of the lake, while with the Paladin build it got reversed.
Great video dude, got at least three really good laughs and a bunch of lesser ones. Haven't played this yet, looking forward to it
That linkin park joke xD
Joe vessel28 killed me lol
I can't figure out where it is. Can you leave a time mark? I think I missed it.
@@fionnternet2169 14:55
Something interesting to know about the Coveted boss if you're having trouble is that when the ghosts move away from the axe and you're close enough to one of the edges of the battlefield, sometimes they will move just outside the boundaries of the battlefield. This can break their pathing, preventing them from attacking you with magic or going for the axe. Unless you get really close to them they won't path back into the battle.
great vid as always man, I love S&S! maybe you could do a darkest dungeon boss ranking if you ever get around to that?
Sunburned albino i love your content, keep up the good work
Anyone just come to see at what points he'll be referring to when he makes his negative comment dissection videos?
Amazing game and amazing content. Glad I came across your channel a couple months ago. Ng+ is about twice as hard in my opinion. Unlike the souls games where I found them way easier till ng+3. And if anyone wants an easy mode for this game get the jaws of death. Im using them on my new file to speed through and get my last trophy for the Platinum
I beat game today, I missed Mal and Forgotten King, no idea where they were. This list is really good, the only bosses I had trouble with were in top 5 and without question, the Bitch of the Lake is the hardest boss. Oh my Gawd, I never threw a controller, but boy oh boy did I want too in that fight. I also ran high strength build and would do massive damage, but she still took me over an hour and 15-20 tries. I would always get her down to a few hits and get one shotted by the move where she throws a shit load of magic with the staff or the one with the purple circle that she starts doing at half health, out of whole game, I would say she is only one that is very hard.
So I just beat this game and I used a dexterity build and the early game was tough, because I couldn't do much damage though dodging was simple, but the flip kick of the single handed dagger does so much damage after you have the excavator. It got really easy towards the end. I've read that Dex builds aren't good on NG+. Most bosses didn't take more than two tries near the end of the game, around the Zigurrat. I'd say the boss I had the most trouble on was surprisingly the untouched inquisitor because he'd randomly have stupid amounts of range. The Kraekan wyrm just didn't want to die and I had to fight a war of attrition, eventually being able to beat him.
2:10 Zote (from Hollow Knight) in the Colosseum of Fools gets sent flying with every attack but goes down too fast.
I recommend doing a Kirby boss ranking, there are plenty of bosses in each game except the first. It could be neat.
Dude this video is gold. I laughed my ass of. That linkin park joke at the end got super dark tho. But still great vid. Subbed.
I'm on my first playthrough currently pretty much a pure caster using a stave, the witch is easy with fire barrage, her defence to fire is -50
Classy Linkin Park/ Chester Bennington reference at the end. I dig your content. Keep it up!
Just picked up this game. It is been made even better by the fact that you have a boss ranking on it
Oooooooooo I've waited for this. Never beat it myself, but these videos are interesting to me.
Edit: I used a Magic Build and they are probably the biggest definition of damage since some spells are a concentrated beam of NUKE and are used for speedruns. Of course these spells are rather late in the game, but they are really just heavy damage but you have only so much to give.
Killed the Husk on the first try, didn't even know what he could do beforehand :).
i did not expect this video to be this funny. amazing
My favorite weapon is the weapon you get from forgotten king boss I forgot the name, really good for strength.
I actually had a lot more trouble with the Mad alchemist than the witch of the lake :D
Nice video!
2 years to release this video, that its really good timing :P
kinda crazy how the experience varies so much between builds, majority of bosses you struggled with I 4 shot and never got to see the mechanics properly, and then for some reason jester and fucking smile gave me the most trouble out of any boss
I've just found you through this video and you're hilarious. I've got my eyes on you 👀
Can't wait for the 1 million sub special!
Shinenightz lmao
Beau Bro Albino for president 2020?
Once again perfect boss rankings.
Yes, new play through!
the unspeakable deep can be beaten and has some valuable drops. the trick is to roll just past his hind leg, the skockwawes don't go beyond it.
The witch made me quickly multiclass my magic character. I ended up making a scythe my off weapon for when I was not using magic
It's utterly fascinating how much your list differs from mine. Lawyer Friendly Nito for example, I'd put far higher up on the list while he was your bottom tier easiest.
At low health he can go extremely spam happy with a triple teleporting stab, though in your footage he doesn't show him doing it.
You placed Queen of Smiles far higher than I would have. The game hands you her elemental weakness literally on her door step, and while you seem to be anti "shield trap", blocking pretty much shuts down all of her physical attacks.
It really plays up the strengths of the just how drastically different each player's experience can be.
And yeah....the Bitch of the Lake is just awful. I would have mentioned how important it is to keep her away from the edges of the arena so she doesn't use that barrage from off camera, where you can't hide under her skirt.
As for magic users vs the Witch. Fire. Kill it with fire. Or arcane. Everything is weak to Dark Reach. even things strong to Dark Reach are weak to Dark Reach.
Bunnu Black my boss ranking from easiest to hardest
1.Carsejaw the cruel
2. That stench most foul
3.the untouched inquisitor
4. The false jester
5 kreaken cyclops
6. The sodden knight
7.bloodless Prince
8.unskinned and the architect
9.queen of smiles
10. Kreakan dragon scourzh
11. Ronin cran
12. Forgotten king
13. Dried king
14. the coveted
15. Tree of men
16. Kreakan wyrm
17.disemboweled husk
18. The third lamb
19. The witch of the lake
20. The mad alchemist
21. Murdiella mal
22. The nameless god
Other experiences really do differ lol.
3 years later “lawyer friendly nito” is still gold
That witch destroyed me even in coop. Damn those orbs. Damn them
The mad alchemist was one of my hardest bosses lol, I did use a dex build tho so I wonder if that factors in
Can you do the Binding Of Isaac Afterbirth Plus ranked bosses? I'd like to see your take.
I totally agree with Disemboweled husk and Witch of the Lake, I can't believe how hard those two can be.
Raxoris If you’re doing a strength build and you’re using greatswords (my go-to being the Shrouded Bulwark), just use blessed pages and the Witch will die very quickly.
Another tip for the kraeken wyrm, just keep to the left and hope it glitches and falls off the edge like it did for me at one point
Witch of the lake is hard, but I personally had more difficulty with Tree of Men and Nameless God. The third lamb can be difficult as well because of his health and the fact when he gets into his final stages the combos he tosses out leave you with little room to counter.
A playthrough would be wicked.
God, I love your ranking videos.
I feel like you're at your best when you make them.
Thanks for the great content Albino, ❤
I just beat this game a couple days ago. The only boss who gave me trouble was The Coveted. Most other bosses I killed first try or killed them on a second attempt.
If you gave up playing this due to difficulty there is no way in hell I'm starting it. Thanks for summarizing it for me!
This is an amzing game, where dodge is king and I myself completed the game 3 times in 2 weeks, because it's so amazing. currently I have 6 different characters, some of which are in NG++
Chasie Yofacie I've never played a Souls like game and I finished this in a few days, you should give it a chance, maybe when it has a discount l.
It's a really fun game. Just also really hard.
sakke simonen I achieved max level with mine. I’m quite proud of it
You should give it a try. I thought it was pretty easy, and if you hit a wall, just grind and level up. I thought the actual game play was really fun, and the level design was top notch and the art style reminded me of really cool and stylized children's books like The Very Hungry Caterpillar or Where the Wild Things Are so the exploration was an absolute joy. The levels and game it's self aren't that long so it doesn't over stay it's welcome. It's cheap too.
Why did I also think of the untouched inquisitor as "unmolested" on my first playthrough
Even though this wasn't a guide, you still did a better job explaining how to deal with the bosses than the video guide from the wiki.
I'm glad you made this video, I played this game because you said how good it was. The only placement I didn't agree with was the Nameless God, because you can stunlock his ass with a greatsword and he will do nothing about it.
I love the boss ranking vids ♥️
I completely agree that the witch was the hardest and btw as i have killed it with a magic character I’ll mention how i used a shield and a wand not sure which shield but it had high arcane defense so her attacks took little to no stamina from me allowing me to whittle her down slowly. Still died 6 times many of which i was agonizingly close.
I started to play this game last week and needed only 10 hours for my first run but it was alot of fun and its a very good souls like game.
I bought this game and beat it because of you and I loved it. Btw I feel like the husk is more of a bitch the hard but I can see why you put it there.
it really depends on your build :-) if you are melee, the husk will rip you open :D but I managed to break him easyli with dagger build since all you need is a lot of stamina and fast rolls so lightweight build is fine against him (my favourite boss still, I even made song about him and started a salt and sanctuary boss drawing series on my deviantart :D )
The difficult of the bosses really changes depending on your playstyle, I finished the game as a Heaby Armor Shielded Tank, some bosses ypu ranted as difficult are very easilly defeated with shields on while some ones that are better defeated avoiding were pretty hard for me (Husk was one of the easiest bosses for me, witch was hard but not much, Third Lamb and Dried King gave tons of trouble)
I've gotten as far as the Witch of the Lake. Considering I'm too lazy to put forth the effort into killing her (because I just keep dying) and I don't really know where else to go, I've given up and haven't played Salt and Sanctuary in months.
Edit: After watching this, I went and I killed the Witch of the Lake, and then went on to kill the Unskinned and the Architect. I actually owe you for showing me how lmao. Took a few tries but I did it. Hope my subscription will be good payment for this rather helpful video (which I admittedly didn't think it was that helpful at first).
I have a profile with thr Golden Axe and Type 46 Tower Sheild with pure 100 resist in all catagories and that thing is the only reason I survived the Witch in NG8. I do barely 1% of her hp per hit, and if I block the Gatling attack she still takes a good 90% of my stamina from me
The linken part comment at the end 😂😂😂, that was so dark 😂😂😂
6:04 what is that second 'posion'bar ? I have never noticed it...is it to fill another poison or another thing?
In the architect fight, everytime ive managed to stack them on top of each other and just melt them with a great sword.
After seeing this game style, you should do The Dishwasher series bosses
I love this game.it was so awesome back in da day
14:57 wow I just now made the connection with the Chester hanging joke
will you rank slay the spier when it gets a full release
Yesss more rankings
I loved the vid. +1 Sub
Had to re watch this one encase a salt and sacrifice video drops
Fantastic game, I still haven't faced all of the secret bosses. (Still need to fight The Three)
Witch of the Lake is another Rom/Nue instance of it being a very odd pick for hardest boss imo. Pretty easy for me, but I will admit that she's much harder if you are a magic user. My hardest boss is probably Kraekan Dragon Scooby Doo, because I have shit luck and he likes to spam his lightning with the lingering spikes, making me spend half the fight just standing there while I wait for his electrical splooge to dissipate.
In the world of all dark souls games...it all depends on memory of the patterns, patience and leveling up wisely...🔥
Tell that to the Tree of Men and it’s BS gravity.
Elemental mage build for my first run. I literally farmed the skinless for salt because I could literally just kill him in about 4-5 shots with lightning arc and flame barrage.
The witch of the lake, bloodless prince, the dusemboweled husk, the queen of smiles, and the cruel boi all got killed first try.
Meanwhile, good lord the lamb was unforgiving (though tbf I also wasn’t supposed to do the forgotten dome before the hall of red cages), the mad alchemist never got staggered for me, the wyrm took several tries, the false jester was quite irksome since he tended to attack before I could even if I started charging immediately after one, and I wanna say there were a few others that have me trouble.
Overall, I’m definitely going to have to replay this game when I’m done but with melee build this time.
I feel vindicated in having so much trouble with the Third Lamb now lol
The tree of men part is the funniest part to me
In my regular playthrough as a primary mage/secondary greatsword, The Witch of the Lake was a nightmare. She was the only boss who caused me to celebrate upon seeing "Vanquished" on the screen. I remember specifically saying, "Eat shit, you bitch!" Then in NG+, I'm sitting at Lv. 165, wearing the best arcane defense gear, and she essentially one shots me with most of her attacks. Love the rage and frustration after grinding for hours.
was a crapy healer but i had the starting shield that kept me alive and awkwardly me and my brother spammed revive spell lol
Nice Video. I like it
The deadpan delivery of the jokes makes even the terrible ones fucking gold. 12/10.
Has Salt and Sanctuary updated since I last played? I don't recognize a lot of these bosses. The Bloodless Prince, The Unskinned/Architect, Carsejaw the Cruel, The Dried King, Ronin Cran... I may have forgettin some cause it's been a while tho
Tactically Inferior Scaredy Yeen The Dried King, Bloodless Prince (not entirely sure), and the Unskinned and the Architect are all required bosses.
In NG+ I could not dodge Carsejaw's teleport downward thrust attack for the life of me. Add in the fact that he does it 3 times and he was such a nightmare in NG+ even though in NG I found him so easy.
The nameless god sword pattern slashing pattern is extremely predictable, he stops attacking when you’re out of range, but when you get close before his full attack is considered “over” he resumes his combo in just the right range to hit you
I used strength too, but i had the jaws of death, which are insanely stupidly powerful. They attack quickly, take about 1/5 of most bosses health per hit, but take a lot of stanima to use.
I like your sense of humor... almost reminds me of Sir Swag.
Funnily, the Three is one of the three bosses i killed on the first go, ever.
But i had an Asshen Effigy shield and just tanked most of the fight.
The other two i had no trouble with were the Inquisitors and the Stench Most Foul.
That said, apart from the Witch i found the Disemboweled Husk to be the most difficult one, because as a melee class i had trouble dealing with his gun shots
For me, with all the bosses I knew that if I died once, I would die 30 more times. The kraeken wyrm, tree of men, sodden knight, the three, sometimes mad alchemist, disemboweled husk and the third lamb killed my so many times, probably three hundreds or so combined.
But witch of the lake, architect and unskinned, skourzh, queen of smiles, carsejaw, cran, murdiella, stench most fowl, bloodless prince, dried king and the coveted have never killed me, not even once.
The nameless God is the only exvpetioj where I died a few times
This knight is so W E T
S O G G Y
More soggy than old cerial
I play with dex and poison weapons and love how the lifebar of the bosses decreases as a timer >:D
If u use magic just join the order of the betrayer get the spell that does big damage and has medium range and spam
Top notch commentary.
Didn't you talk a while ago about not finishing this game? I guess you got around to it somehow in between Pokemon episode 55 and Slay the Spire episode 70. Haven't played it but it looks pretty cool.
