My Son graduated High school 5 years. ago. I researched watches, including this channel, with the simple goal of wanting to give him a gift that would be respectable. At the time I could buy a Seiko monster 2nd gen for $199. I got one for him. I got one for me... because, no more child support.... i told him if he wanted to go to school call me, I will pay you but not your mom. That was another story. Anyway, This got both of us hooked on watches. Those watches have skyrocked in value. but the cool part is the simple fact that neither of us will ever sell because of the more emotional value that lies beneath. I feel really good as a parent giving my children an item they don't want to sell, but if they had to, the would be taken care of. That is important to me.

Im into watches for 2 years now and I built a nice collection. Now I’m 17 years old and a G-Shock was my first watch. YOU really inspired me a lot and I’m a fan of your channel since then.♥️
You're a young man. My advice don't get into the cheap or low end "entry" watch trap. It's better to have one (Rolex, Grand Seiko, Nomos, Omega, JLC, any higher end Swiss...in due time) than to have a bunch of TAG's, Squale, Christopher Ward, Seiko, or unknown $300 - $1500 brands. They won't last and will not hold value. This mistake and trap becomes apparent when you take a "affordable" watch for service. For example : Squale = $300... cost to service $250 - $350! More than what the watch is worth. If you want something that will last, and get a great bang per buck. Go for pre-owned watches like Speedmaster, Seamaster Omega, Breitling, vintage Date Just, Explorer I pre-owed Rolex, Pre-owned Panerai Luminor. All between $2000 - $5000 tops, full kit and mint. You will thank me and be glad once you get one. No rush, just enjoy your first watch collection, keep it, take care of your beginner watches, and work/save for that luxury grail. Once you're well and ready for one.

I recently got myself a Bulova (the Bulova devil diver 98C131) But so far in my collection from past 6 months I got a Rotary Aquaspeed (Swiss made Orange strap automatic), Citizen pro-master (BN0100-51E) Victorinox (241765) Now I’m looking for my next watch, what would you guys recommend?

One of the most passionate, down to earth, realistic and no bullsh*t video about entry-level watch brands I have ever seen!! I just recently got into "real" watches again, after realising that smartwatches just don't have a soul and age poorly. I bought my first automatic watch, a Seiko 5, just a few days ago, and was blown away by its outstanding craftsmanship for the ridiculously low price of just 100€. So yeah, even on a very tight budget, there's plenty of amazing options to choose from in the watch world!
I started my collection about 2 years ago with a bambino. Today I have 2 bambinos, a modded mako 2, hamilton khaki auto, alpinist, spinnaker Cahill 38mm, and a accutron spaceview. Its not a problem i swear...
The Seiko SNK809 was the first watch I bought myself when I got my first job. I got it for 75 bucks, and I still wear it to this day. Great video, as always!
Great video!! Currently in my first year of University; I received a Tissot Seastar 1000 for my 18th, however, I get as much joy out of wearing my Casio F91w as I do my Seastar! One of the many great things about owning a more 'budget' watch!
I’ve just started out on watch collecting, and my first three watches were Citizens (the pictured Nighthawk and the rose gold perpetual calendar) and a beautiful gold and blue Bulova Marine Star. Now getting curious about vintage Soviet brands and exploring what else is out there at my price point but I feel like I’ll always like Citizen and Bulova. Love the history and the attention to detail. They feel beautiful to wear.
I own a Casio a158w, a Seiko snk809 and a Victorinox Chronoclassic (this was my first of the three), each very different from the other, and I love and enjoy all of them. Great video as always. Saludos desde Guatemala.
Great suggestions even for someone in their mid-thirties with disposable income. Everything on this list is worthy of buying, wearing, and keeping around. I've always liked having a decent-looking analog wristwatch and have been wearing an Invicta pro diver (yeah, yeah, I know) for a few years. But I'm only just now starting to get interested in watches as a hobby. Great list. I will certainly be buying several of these.
I’m 14 and just got my first seiko skx007. I’m a big fan of the 7s26 movement and am interested in horology. It feels good to know that there are other people interested in watches like me because all my friends think I’m weird.
The Urban Gentry is THE best horology channel on RUclips. Whether you're a watch-snob, a seasoned collector, or a newbie, all types from the whole spectrum of horology is discussed here. Seiko has been part of my past having seen my Father wore 5's all the time. It was for me the ultimate everyman's automatic. Keep up the great work!
I’m 17 and I just got my own Seiko 5 SNK793 which I’m modding myself. Guys like you on RUclips who are honest and really upfront are really inspiring to younger guys like myself who are new to the watch scene but you and other RUclipsrs like Ben Arthur quickly helped me get acquainted with watches enough to be comfortable enough to get and mod my own. Thanks mate
I’ve been into them for around 4 years now and im building my collection. So far i have: Seiko SNZF17 Seiko SKX 009 Citizen Calendrier Citizen Military style G-Shock G9000 And my most recent purchase was out of my work bonus money a Tag Heuer Formula 1 caz101k. My next purchase will be a Hamilton or a used Omega. Thanks for the great videos. Your channel is great.
Hello Urban Gentry, I'm a highschool student and just wanted to pass by to thank you. Because of you I got into watch collecting, round about have a year ago. I remember watching this video that inspired many of my purchases. Up to this day I picked up the Seiko skx009, G-shock Dw5600bb, Casio A168 and Orient Sun and Moon v3. Right now I'm considering buying the Orient Tristar with the blue dile :) Thank you for all your great videos. Kind regards Jona
Very pleased to see Bulova make the list, first watch i ever bought and no one ever seems to recognise it when I mention it. Have a huge soft spot for it over the more recognisable names on this list.
22 years old and started my collection of with a tank of a G-Shock in the ninth grade and now have the SKX009 and 2 other Seikos + an Orient dress watch. Picking up a Glycine Golden Eye as my first Swiss watch this week after watching your review!
TGV, I know I'm a bit late to the party, but I wanted to tell you that I am on my final stretch of my last high school semester. My Seiko SNZG has accompanied me the whole time. Thank you so much for providing so much fun, entertainment, and education throughout these difficult times!
I know this video is a tad older, but I’m a 15 year old watch enthusiast. My dream watch is a Rolex Datejust with the 1 Carat diamond bezel And 2 carat diamond hour markers, black/purple gradient face. I don’t have a job. I’m in no position to get that watch anytime soon. I buy a lot of Invicta, (don’t hate, I genuinely like the brand) August Steiner (less known Swiss brand) and I like both of them. I get complemented a bit on them, and I feel confident and comfortable wearing them. These brands that were mentioned in the vids are ones I will be picking up when I can, but my biggest thing is that people get too worried ab what others think and say. If you like the watch, get it. Ok people hate hate hate invicta but I really do like the brand and quality. Buy a watch because you like it, not because you think others do
I started my collection this year with an Orient Ray 2. Can't say anything bad about it,if you are interested i recommend to buy the blue dial one,i'ts just beautiful.
I've recently started getting into watches and enjoy your videos. I'm also a high school student who will be graduating this year, so as a graduation gift my parents bought me a watch of my choice. After watching several of your videos to help me decide which piece I wanted, I finally chose the Seiko Sarb033 as my first automatic watch. It is an amazing watch and hopefully after saving up some more I can purchase a second piece from the options you showed today. Keep up the great work!
I just stumbled onto your channel. Used to collect watches, had 32 at one point, but sold them when I moved overseas for work about a year ago. I only kept a couple of G-Shocks (MTG-B1000B-1AJF and GXW-56-1BJF) and my beloved Omega Seamaster. Your video stirred up a lot of fond memories. You've got a new subscriber. Cheers, mate!!
I’ve been collecting watches since I was 5, and your channel never ceases to amaze me with new and wonderful content for my education. Please consider a good review on the Bertucci watch brand; they’re simply an amazing affordable and quality timepiece.
Go buy yourself a Casio F91W . Use it excessively to remind yourself of the time and how much time you have to eat/sleep/study/uptime/downtime to remind yourself that the time itself is valuable , that the time you used to get the money is more important than the money you used to get that time.
My grandfather gave me a Victorinox Infantry 11 years ago when i was 13. It is still my daily wearer in my twenties! I'm getting another one soon because I adore it so much
Tristano, today I watched you episode on JLC company tour and I have to say it was a great short documentary, I really urge you to do more Vlogs maybe showing some museums, art galleries, watch stores, etc... As always, regards from the Old Continent!!
Thank you my friend, I would love too. Hopefully one day I will have more time to do so. That video took weeks to make, but check out my travel videos. Best regards, TGV
My first watch was an Akribos watch which I just used for school but my first watch for my collection will be Citizen Eco-Drive Perpetual Calendar Men's Bracelet Watch when it arrives in the post
At Uni I couldn't afford much but I gave collecting a semi go. I had 3 watches that I used every day, a Casio G-Shock DW-6100 (Absolutely loved that watch), Swiss Pulse Elite with a silver metal strap, a Speedo branded Digital Watch. My Dressier watches, both Automatics, Tag Heuer Pro 2000 for smart casual occasions and a Gold Tissot Seaster Seven on a black leather strap for when the suit and black Oxfords came out. At this time, I also had some older watches that I kept from my teens but no longer wore, Casio Calculator, Casio F91, A manual wind Fortis and a Swatch Watch, as well as a vintage Pocket manual wind Watch by Ferro (On a trip to Poland in the late 90's, while passing a thrift shop, I noticed a brown leather strap in the shop window designed to clip in a pocket watch. I bought it and by luck, fit the pocket watch perfectly, it became the 10th watch for the collection). I had a 9 watch display case (because i'd be wearing one watch from the collection, I didn't want a case that had a empty gap... Obsessive people understand me right?), that I made out of a metal Camera Case and I loved it, If I brought friends over from Uni or from my part time job it made a conversational starter as people were dawn to the watches and wanted to know the brands, in some cases getting people interested in watches.
Dear TGV, since the end of 2018 I have been more and more interested for watches. Not just collecting them, but geting to know the history of brands, the technology involved, pros and cons, different design styles (dress watch, diver, field watch, aviator, etc). I discovered your channel 5 days ago and got immediately fascinated with the quantity and quality of the content here. Thanks for the time you spent researching, recording and editing these sensational videos. Best regards, a new friend from the south of Brazil.
I'm 14 and i started my collection inheriting 3 watches of my grandpa (a Longines calatrava from the 50s, a lanco from the 60s and a Seiko 5) and now I have 8 vintage watches
As a highschool student I prefer wearing mechanical watches to quartz ones. I know that mechanics have their downs against quartz watches, but I enjoy wearing my Vostok Amphibia 710 with +12 seconds accuracy a day more than any quartz timepiece.
I am a college student who without any knowledge about watches was thrilled to see Bulova at number one. I own the 98H51 model for over 3 years and have not looked back, it's outstanding.
I have a citizen navihawk.. bought it as an Xmas present for myself when starting my flying school.... The watch is so great the next serious watch will probably be bought when I become a commercial pilot in couple of years that’s how good it is
I'd add the Citizen NY0040 to that list! It was my first "real" watch when I was 18, and even after 20 more watches added to my collection, it still remains one of my favorites. It's the best alternative to a SKX, too!
I got Orient Mako 5 years ago for my 20th birthday thanks to TGV review. I"ve been wearing it almost every day since then and still get compliments on them. It is the best thing I've ever received.
I started collecting watches this year. I'm a college student so I have to find the best bang for buck. Now I own a skx 007, 009, seiko 5 snk793, snk 809 and Casio W-59. Very happy about my watches so far
I’ve always worn an Apple Watch , just now I’ve started getting into quartz and automatic. Mostly quartz tho since I don’t got a fortune to spent on service. My 450 dollar collection include gshock ga 2100 , bulova precisionist Grammy edition, Casio duro and a orient bambino. One for the gym , one for beater, one for casual , and one to dress up.
Da A I wouldn’t recommend Vostok for someone who is just starting out with Mechanicals. The Movement and crown can be temperamental plus build quality is not really up to the standard of the watches mentioned in video. I’ve previously owned two Vostoks and I’m fond of the brand 🤙🏻
I was just thinking the same as I watched the video... I am really new to the hobby, a couple of year or so, and as of now my collection is limited to casio (f91w, ae1200whd, gwx5600, all hydro modded) So I decided it was time for my first automatic, was ready for a seiko skx007, then discovered vostok a couple weeks ago. So I researched them, really amazing history, and I am currently waiting for two amphibia to arrive :) one from meranom, one from zenitar, around 70-80$ each, really glad I found out about the "ak-47 of watches"!
I don't know how good it is as a diver at less than $150. Now 200 metres means that you can dive a bit but more than 3-4 metres and you're in trouble. Thing is that mechanical watches are quite high maintenance so I wouldn't recommend them to beginners.
zaco 2121 If you actually do some research on the design you’ll see the engineering behind it, it has numerous advantages over the typical case style the way the case back and the case back gasket works is the main point. I’ve seen comments on the “temperamental crown”, the only reason you think it’s temperamental is because you don’t understand how it’s designed. The Vostok crown was designed this way, the crown itself is not physically connected to the stem this insulates the delicate movement from shock if you were to drop or smack the watch on the crown. Which is why it feels so wobbly and loose you must put outward pressure on the crown to engage the stem clutch to wind, once you understand that it works like any other watch. Though I do agree that Vostok’s QC on average is lesser than Citizen or Seiko. I personally get a lot of enjoyment out of knowing it’s a proper military-diver design, I can say with impunity that you won’t find a true military mechanical design for less than double and those will be vintage pieces with all that implies. This is a magnificent article on the ‘Amphibia’s’ engineering. www.60clicks.com/vostok-amphibia-scuba-dude-review/
So does 2019 seiko, there is no way you can contest that. And just as I said you pay more for the Seikos, I have something like half a dozen Vostoks and I’ve full admitted twice now that indeed the average fit and finish is below average seiko none of my watches has had a single quality issue. Meranom is in my experience highly professional and they seem to do a good deal to weed out bad watches so you don’t have to, in 6 seikos I’ve had at least one alignment issue. The only thing I would call an issue is the bracelets, the worst seiko bracelet is 10x better than any of the OE bracelets that came on my Vostoks but it’s not an issue because they almost always have an option to save $10 and not get the bracelet. I have no reason to bullshit, Vostok fit and finish is slightly below current Seiko but the prices reflect this and there’s no reason to not recommend them. If you have EXPERIENCE that makes you believe otherwise I’ll hear it, but if it’s just internet echo chamber garbage why not get one yourself at less than $100 what’s to loose?
Could really see your love for watches, and not just expensive stuff like other snobby channels. Seeing you talk about and enjoy watches I can actually afford is amazing!

Hi Tom, I also just turned 21,which watch do you recommend? I work at a restaurant as a server.
When I was schoolboy in 1969, on a school trip to Switzerland, I spent my entire spending money on a Tissot Seastar with a smokey metallic dark blue dial.
Awesome! I have a SeaStar from the 70s... fantastic little watch. Good taste, for a youngster!
Do you still have it Charles?
@@mike8631 Hi, I wish I did still have it.
Great video! I’m 14 and I have learned so much about the world of horology from you. I bought a Hamilton Khaki King after seeing your review and I love it! Thank you for what you do!
This is an outstanding post. He doesn’t piss on lesser watches and he really gives a wonderful explanation on the history and background of each of these watches. Really well done
Just received an SKX009 for my 21st birthday...absolutely besotted with it!
Darren Kennedy Many congratulations. It’s a sweet watch, regardless of price.
So happy to hear that.
May it bring you luck, adventures and more happiness!
Thank you Darren,

Fantastic watch! I have an SKX009 in my collection. Love it!
I’m actually same age and have a few watches now! A lot of brands mentioned in this.
Mike D Looking for automatic watch upto £500 everyday wear watch preferably really and I typically go for metal strap but don’t mind a leather strap
It‘s such a cool hobby to collect watches. I had my 20 birthday a few days ago and bought my first swiss made watch, the Tissot PRX Powermatic 80. Excellent beginner watch
I actually started my collection with a Timex and an Orient Bambino thx to you, and it's great !
I love it, I was so late to them in my watch collecting journey, you started strong, enjoy!
Thank you my friend,
Best regards,
TGV
Imma student and I rock a Timex weekender. I switch the straps for different outfits, so it's super versatile. Btw, I got the idea about straps from watching your videos TGV!! Thank you for helping me to develop my style and good taste :)
I just bought an cheap Timex and am mightily impressed by the Indigo feature.
My $50 Expedition still holds an important place in my watch rotation. And when it gets dark, Indiglo to the rescue. Lume is nice, but Indiglo rules.
My dad gave me his before i went camping for a week end. I fell in love with it how simple it is and the glow. Unfortunatly it just eats batteries now so ill have to take it somewhere for a service, but still out of all the watches ive seen and used its my faverout.
The main downside to Timex is they're really noisy.
Vostok watches definitely should have been mentioned.
I just finished high school on a low budget but I recently bought a vintage omega Seamaster automatic “big square “ for $380. I love watches and history behind them my first Swiss watch I bought
I’m 14 and love horology, this is great as you don’t see many videos for watches on a budget!
I’ve just started collecting and I’ve started off with a seiko SKX013 and a seiko flightmaster sna411.
We almost have the same watches, I have a SKX007, SNA411 and will soon buy a citizen eco drive super titanium watch (cant remember the exact number)
I am looking for an skx013 right now ^^ hard to find unfortunately.
The sna is an awesome watch. I put mine on a rubber strap with yellow stitching but the stock bracelet is pretty comfortable too.
@@derdummeasi look on the ebay, jomashop or if you want to order directly from japan visit Zenmarket, i believe there a lowest prices for japanese brands.
jesus christ, now i want that sna411, why i just googled it?
I would only add Vostok for entry level, lower cost option. Glad Bulova made it on the list, that sweeping quartz hand 👌 Great video 👍
I have 3 Vostok and none of them work any more . Still looking for a reliable place to send them for repair
@@sebasbecu what did you do to them 😂

New to your channel. 52 years old, got several smart watches over the last 4 years and still go back and now permently to my citizen field watch I've had for 10 years. Looking for a hobby and found your channel to be a breathe of fresh air! I love History, tradition and craftsmanship. Need a hobby and I'm all in now. Thank you!
Hello my friend, and hope you are well!
Had a young man stop me yesterday and asked about my Submariner...said it was his long-term grail -
Assured him he would get there and then complimented his Seiko turtle, which I could tell made his day -
Just goes to show that we are all on the journey, and everyone had an origin point in our shared hobby -
Thanks for everything you do for our community - be well sir --
Respect, legend 🙏
Good day to you too Sir.
This Is what I love about our community, true appreciation for horology. I've had enough of snobbery, this is where it's at.
Nice!
Casio f91w on a nato strap, absolutely cracking watch especially for students. 😉 💯
AMAN the only time when a nato strap is more expensive than the watch
Haha so true.
Gave one to my friend and he wears it every day. I'll have to buy him a strap for it! Great suggestion!
I started my collection about 2 years ago with a bambino.
Today I have 2 bambinos, a modded mako 2, hamilton khaki auto, alpinist, spinnaker Cahill 38mm, and a accutron spaceview. Its not a problem i swear...
Great collection, take care about your wallet 😆
The Seiko SNK809 was the first watch I bought myself when I got my first job. I got it for 75 bucks, and I still wear it to this day. Great video, as always!
Great video!! Currently in my first year of University; I received a Tissot Seastar 1000 for my 18th, however, I get as much joy out of wearing my Casio F91w as I do my Seastar! One of the many great things about owning a more 'budget' watch!
As a teenager i have a casio F-91w an skx007 and just ordered a seiko 5 diver today
Stonerboy the f91w is a solid watch man, it's the most popular watch in basic military and most only replace it for style reasons
Nice!
I bought a phoibos voyager. Honestly, I am really happy with the quality. Japanese mechanism, sapphire crystal, 300m water resistance...all for £200.
I got 7 watches in 3 months and it's your fault:((( 4 Seiko, Hamilton, Glycine and Tissot...and counting. Ciao sei il numero 1!!!
I'm nearly 18 and over the last few years I've collected a few Longines and just got a vintage Zenith
So far i have:
Seiko SNZF17
Seiko SKX 009
Citizen Calendrier
Citizen Military style
G-Shock G9000
And my most recent purchase was out of my work bonus money a Tag Heuer Formula 1 caz101k.
Right now I'm considering buying the Orient Tristar with the blue dile :)
Thank you for all your great videos.
Kind regards Jona
Started with a little Hamilton Jazzmaster, now I'm looking at a Cartier Tank. What a journey.
Very pleased to see Bulova make the list, first watch i ever bought and no one ever seems to recognise it when I mention it. Have a huge soft spot for it over the more recognisable names on this list.
I'm surprised vostok wasnt on his list. It was one of my personal favs when i started my collection
22 years old and started my collection of with a tank of a G-Shock in the ninth grade and now have the SKX009 and 2 other Seikos + an Orient dress watch. Picking up a Glycine Golden Eye as my first Swiss watch this week after watching your review!
TGV I am not a student or a teenager and I'm still watching looking for ideas.
Maybe a invicta, they are pretty good in my perspective
I am a 19 year old student and since a very long time into watches. Today I bought an almost new 116234. Very happy with this.
My favorites from my collections is my Bulova Moon Watch and my 42mm khaki field
a friend of mine just bought the moonwatch. what a fantastic watch.

Buy a watch because you like it, not because you think others do
Focus on your finances as soon as you get out of school. Save and invest money. Then later on you'll be able to afford it
I started my collection this year with an Orient Ray 2. Can't say anything bad about it,if you are interested i recommend to buy the blue dial one,i'ts just beautiful.
I am both of these things. Thanks TGV, appreciated.
I would strongly recommend the Orient Ray 2 an owner, myself.
I just started collecting watches with the Orient Ray II!
Had mine 2 years, still running fine
Every channels talking about the Ray I just gonna get me one just say I have one too lol
Blue dial or Black?
I've had my black Orient Ray II for almost 6 years now. Can confirm, it's an amazing watch.

My collection
I just stumbled onto your channel. Used to collect watches, had 32 at one point, but sold them when I moved overseas for work about a year ago. I only kept a couple of G-Shocks (MTG-B1000B-1AJF and GXW-56-1BJF) and my beloved Omega Seamaster. Your video stirred up a lot of fond memories. You've got a new subscriber. Cheers, mate!!
I’m wearing the Orient Bambino sir! Bought one after watching your video on them! 😊
As someone who recently bought a Maverick Black Edition, you mentioning Victorinox made my day.
This video is great because I want to expand my collection.(I am 16)
I’ve been collecting watches since I was 5, and your channel never ceases to amaze me with new and wonderful content for my education. Please consider a good review on the Bertucci watch brand; they’re simply an amazing affordable and quality timepiece.
Watching this in school. I’m going to use this video to buy myself a watch for my graduation next year.
Get back to your studies! You don't have time to watch this!
Morgan Smiley oh don’t worry. The underclass men had EOC testing so the juniors and seniors had off periods.

TAG watches are nice, but really expensive where I live
I Have the Khaki king 11 H-40 movement 80 hr power reserve. On full wind it actually goes for 86hrs.
Dear TGV, since the end
of 2018 I have been more and more interested for watches.

Victorinox will last as long as gshocks and look classier. Love both!
I love how Casio and Victorinox is so selfaware and in touch with their own DNA! Great vid and absolute legends mentioned!
I'm so pleased with my tissot seastar I'm glad you included it TGV thanks 👍
I'm 14 and i started my collection inheriting 3 watches of my grandpa (a Longines calatrava from the 50s, a lanco from the 60s and a Seiko 5) and now I have 8 vintage watches
As a highschool student I prefer wearing mechanical watches to quartz ones. I know that mechanics have their downs against quartz watches, but I enjoy wearing my Vostok Amphibia 710 with +12 seconds accuracy a day more than any quartz timepiece.
My 710 is on the way, really looking forward to how a soviet movement will perform on the daily.

Seiko 5 and Vostok are also great for the money.
Just my personal experience
I'd add the Citizen NY0040 to that list! It was my first "real" watch when I was 18, and even after 20 more watches added to my collection, it still remains one of my favorites. It's the best alternative to a SKX, too!
I got Orient Mako 5 years ago for my 20th birthday thanks to TGV review. I"ve been wearing it almost every day since then and still get compliments on them. It is the best thing I've ever received.
The new GA-2000 g shock is the best choice for 2019 highschoolers imo. If youre a few years out of high school try out a Hamilton khaki king
I'm a collector and really enjoyed that you included Orient and Swatch brands to include in a collection. Keep up the good work.
For anyone with a small wrist and on a budget I’d definitely recommend the orient Stella 36 mm openheart dress watch 200+ its pretty underrated imo
I started collecting watches this year. I'm a college student so I have to find the best bang for buck. Now I own a skx 007, 009, seiko 5 snk793, snk 809 and Casio W-59. Very happy about my watches so far
I'm a 17 year old student and i love Zeppelin watches. I think they are great quality for the price.
Where’s Vostok? Who else offers a line of
Da A I wouldn’t recommend Vostok for someone who is just starting out with Mechanicals. The Movement and crown can be temperamental plus build quality is not really up to the standard of the watches mentioned in video. I’ve previously owned two Vostoks and I’m fond of the brand 🤙🏻
I was just thinking the same as I watched the video...
I am really new to the hobby, a couple of year or so, and as of now my collection is limited to casio (f91w, ae1200whd, gwx5600, all hydro modded)
So I decided it was time for my first automatic, was ready for a seiko skx007, then discovered vostok a couple weeks ago.
