Hi, no problem. Make sure you take a photo of the wiring as that will definitely help. Glad you found the video helpful
That's really clear and helpful, thank you. This could save me a small fortune!!
Thanks for your comment, i hope the ceiling light video has been helpful!
you are simply awesome. simple and cheap DIYs. big fan !
Hi, thanks for your great comment 😀! Did you manage to change your light fitting?
Brilliant video mate, going to try this today!
Hi, thanks for your comment 👍. Just take your time and take a photo of the wiring before you start!
Thanks for the video, swapping a standard white light fitting to a flush fitting glass one, what weight would plasterboard be able to hold ? The fitting from Next weighs 2.5kg
Hi, the plasterboard will hold it, but make sure you get some good plasterboard fixings like these amzn.to/3xwCwMc
Hi, I’ve got a light fixture from IKEA that only has the live and neutral terminals and I’m trying to change a pendant fixture which I suppose has a live, neutral and ground… what do I do with the ground in this case please? Thank you so much in advance!
Put all the earth's (green and yellow) together into a connector, but don't connect them to the new light. The new light fitting is double insulated and does not require an earth! Hope that helps you?
Thanks for the video, the new led light I bought has two black wires and one green wire. Any suggestions?
I would say the green wire is the earth. Does the black wires have any other markings or are there any markings on the connector?
@FixitwithFowler wow thanks for the quick response! No there are no markings. The black covering on the both the wires is peeled back a little on the left connector. I can see that the wire colour underneath is blue. Does that help?
@jyourell the one with the blue will be the neutral and the other will be the live, hope that helps
@FixitwithFowler Thanks Steve, your a legend!
@jyourell no problem 😊
I did exactly the same and still not working but, on my case, one of the cable that comes out from the ceiling has 4 wires🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️, perhaps that’s the reason
Hi, did you take a photo of the existing light before you took it down? Then you can double-check the wiring!
@@FixitwithFowler i did and I have connected all the wires as they should and still not working
@@FixitwithFowler the new light is connected to a 3 gang switch that’s controlling the light outside, downstairs in the hallway and upstairs
@arcadiefiliponioi9133 oh that's no good, what connectors did you use?
