We are totally in love with this movie and in this September we had a chance to travel to northern Italy where this movie was filmed.
We have done lots of research for these beautiful places in the film, and we want to share them with you. I am sure that somebody has the same love like us for this adorable movie.
Crema - Palazzo Vescovile
where they had a coffee at the beginning of the movie
Sirmione + Grottes de Catulle
Super beautiful small city in south of the lake of garda (Lago di garda)
Pandino
A small city between Milan and Crema, where Elio told Oliver about his love for the first time :)
Fontanile Quarantina ( 15 minutes by car from Crema)
A wonderful natural fountain where they stayed after been to the plaza of Padino and they had their first kiss just nearby.

I love how these locations are not filled with tourists IM DEFINITELY GOING TO THESE PLACES
True, Everybody goes to Tuscany or so. But countryside, landscape and towns in Norther Italy like in Lombardy, Veneto, Emilia Romagna and Piedmont are very underrated and not full of tourists most of them. It's a mix of beauty and calm. Definitely worth it.

yeah because everybody goes to famous places like rome, venice or florence (wich are also incredibly stunning) but italy is full with these little unknown gems

@@agem1989 I live in piedmont but I can tell you tuscany deserves its fame and title of most visited region in north-center italy. It is truly the best one. But yeah, Northern italy is also good
I'm Italian, I live near Bergamo, where a part of the film was done. Sometimes I don't think that the place where I live is beautiful, but seeing the film and your video remembered me how lucky I am to live here and enjoying these places every day❤️

@@sangi0684 well im an introvert, and i love being lonely, and silence, find happiness and love in a place where everybody thinks its boring, because if its boring than it must be a quite place, and i love it hehehe... im from indonesia, and living in Jakarta is like killing me softly...

It's fascinating to see how that movie attracts people to those places, I live in that area of Lombardy and for me it's one of the most boring places in the world.. But Sirmione is beautiful, hurray for Lake Garda and its beautiful villages!
Maybe if you imagine as if it's your first and last time there you won't think it's boring again
I live in Voghera, Pavia province. The landscapes are almost identical and I just love them, nothing boring in sunny, golden fields, green trees and old buildings

I really wish everyone could experience the magic of an italian summer. Not the famous southern Italy (that surely is beautiful), but the hidden magic of northern Italy. Little towns, farms, countryside, bicycle ridings in these towns and most of all: water! Pianura Padana is founded on water and you can find little rivers and lakes everywhere.
But there is also the metropolitan city of Milan, the famous Como, mountains and nature, history and culture.
I really hope for everyone to enjoy an italian summer.
What an amazing adventure!! I’d absolutely love to retrace the steps of Elio and Oliver.
That whole movie is like a dream with its scenic beauty.

I live in out of town and still lonely
I'm from Tuscany but living in Lombardy for work now, and I have to admit that I've always been skeptical and kinda looked down on this region's landscapes and beauty, but CMBYN and also your video are making me see it in a different perspective, and I might have to go around a bit and look at it all with new eyes. Maybe I sound too patriotic, but I guess Italy's beauty really never fails, even in the less known places (like Lombardia) you can find such a beautiful and poetic scenery. I was sad about moving here, but I guess I'm still lucky huh.
La Lombardia è la regione in Italia con più siti Unesco. Brutta proprio non direi, anzi, è una delle regioni più variegate, forse solo dopo al Veneto.

Hi, this June I did a similar trip, went to the train station, the villa (but you cant see anything), Crema, and the place with the war memorial....took half a day but was fun

Hello, I was wondering if I could ask a few more things about the trip? I'm thinking of visiting as well this summer.
Are the places you visited in order from first to last? How did you move around? Where did you stay? And how long did the trip last?
Yes, of course ! and yes, these places are in ordre as in the description, and you can find all these places in GoogleMap, even for the last one Fontanile Quarantina (Attention for this one, you need a car to go there and park like 500 meters away, then take a small road on foot). We live near Nice in France so it's not too far to go by car.
We've been to Sirmione first, it's the south spot of the lake "Lago di garda", it's a beautiful small town, you can find the hotels in the city.
Then you can go to the others spots, crema, Fontanile Quarantina and Pandino are very close to each other (like 20 mins by car). We t took a hotel in a bigger city near by named Crémone and we visited these places in a day. Otherwise you can stay in Milan, it's not very far neither.
This took us 2-3 days, in the mean time, you can visite some interesting places near by, like : Milan, Lago di garda, Verona, etc.
Hope this can answer your questions and wish you have a great journey in Italy.
