Cambodia has come a long way since their civil war officially ended in 1998. I've returned every year for the last ten years to visit my sole surviving sister since I left the country back in 1979. Be mindful of your surroundings. Be kind whenever possible. It's always possible as life is short to do the things we don't love doing. Peace from a genocide survivor ✌️

Were your ancestors royals, nobles, and businesspersons prior to the KR? If yes, then what a truly amazing survival story to share to the world!

@@BeauBodhi88 My grand parents were part of royal families but most of them did not survive the genocide there. Good leadership leads to prosperity and happiness but poor leadership leads to suffering and death. Sharing is caring as always. Peace✌️

@@KhmerMinnesnowta They were? That’s amazing! It’s so hard to find true royals and nobles! I’ve been searching everywhere! Are you a descendant of Norodom or Sisowath? My ancestors were just feudal noble lords or royal areya (Neak buon sak) military. And interestingly I’m a millennial fraternal twin Pisces Month and dragon year born which is to my recent discovery considered the uniquest and rarest-born human on Earth from Cambodian, to Indian, to Persian, to Chinese, to Egyptian to Greek, to German and to English philosophy for the very first human king on earth was a fraternal twin who was chosen to be sovereign God-King had the exact zodiac sign and exact birthdate as me. Hence why Osiris, Apollo, yamaraja, the devil, and Preah ko Preah keo are the main star figure of the aforementioned kingdom culture as the legendary fraternal twin. Finally I can share this with a confidante and not feel rebuked by the lesser castes perceiving it as a form of gloating or arrogance as a result of their own inferiority complex or envy like the villains in kingdom fairy tales who are upset at the idea of the existence of a hereditary Uniquest-born praised as the born king.

@@KhmerMinnesnowta descendant of Norodom the 1st? Was she the child of one of the lady-in-waiting to the king? That’s awesome! Do find more about your ancestral story! Sounds like an interesting story to read!! My great grand-aunt named Long, Thorn was the daughter of a feudal lord of the noble Long (dragon family) and was offered as a lady-in-waiting to the king in which she conceived two children with him. She was later arranged to marry a French cartographer named Henri auguste mari Duval and bore 5 children with him. Don’t mind be sounding interrogative because I cannot find one person on Earth whom I can relate to or share such a story with!

I’ve been to Cambodia 10 times plus, never experienced any bad experiences. It’s safe to say it’s safe. Things happened just like anywhere in the world, you just needed to aware of your surrounding. Some people have no good intention towards Cambodia so they spread bad rumors which is not nice at all, neighbor countries also have good and bad experiences happen to people ,so to say one country is safer than others is a misjudgment or unfair. You have to come experience it for yourself.

I've been in Battambang Cambodia since 2014. Many trips to Phnom Penh. In Phnom Penh after 10 pm just go with a companion. Or better yet hire a tuk tuk driver for the whole evening, they will keep you safe. Ask at the Guest House you are at and they will help you to find the tuk tuk drive to meet your needs. Do not ever wave over a tuk tuk driver, always use Pass App. My only complaint, not a security risk but you will be over charged. 10 years in Battambang very few of my friends have had problems with theft. I would say Battambang is one of the safest cities ? in the world? I was raised in Japan so I know about the safest.

As a Khmer raised American since infancy, it’s upsetting to see many Khmers so obsessed with foreigners visiting Cambodia. Is it fiscal-related? Remember home should be like a kingdom. That is Secluded and segregated like a peaceful man-made garden. The idea for people to come in is actually a new thing. From local: just a heads-up if you travel to Cambodia, beware of snatching when you are walking along the road or in the Tuk-tuk, there are still cases happen to visitors and foreigners. While walking, do not show-off your phone and make sure you carry with firm and tight hand, using the backpack is recommended. Purse is not so safe. Also, if you are in the tuk-tuk, make sure you use phone in the safe mode with precaution as some thief just drive the motor and snatch your phone away. Pickpocket is rare.

When it come to culture, ancient art, history, Cambodia is a must visit in southeast Asia, as it was the empire for thousand of years that expanding the countries around it namely Thailand, Lao, and Vietnam. The Siem Reap city, was the capital of the empire. You will see the wonder of the world. This country is rich in its culture.
But if you are looking for something spicy girls, night life, this may be not the place.

Thanks. My advice is to don’t get upset from all the drivers who are approaching you to get some business. And don’t carry any wallet or phone when you take a massage. Don’t get too drunk or do drugs. Be aware of pickpockets. This all out of precaution but the city is super safe and there is hardly any violence 😊

Cambodia is the best sport right now 2024, Too many Korean/Japanese/Chinese/American and Canadian they bought the property and plan to live there for long term also Mexico and Brazil they are also start moving on too, As a Korean-Cambodian myself I feel Cambodia is better than Seoul TBH, Seoul is pretty much dying after COVID-19 hit and also after the stamped tragedy in Itaewon, Too many people are moving back home and never return.

Ummm i disagree cuz I had a bad experience while traveling in Phnom Penh. A local driver kept pestering me to get on his car saying he'd give me a discount. I agreed and went with two friends but no he didn’t take us to our destination and demanded we pay the full fare before he’d continue as agreed. We refused to pay the full amount and only paid half. The driver got really upset then kicked us off his car immediately…..It was the worst experience of my life. Who said local ppl there are innocent you never visit them.
