      @@drab2000 This song has accompanied me for most of my life.
      I always loved it, even though it took me more than forty years to discover the original, which is from the same year as I am.
      And it took my fifty years to find the face to the song. :(

      He somewhat perfected what should sound. Runaway have a synth solo though. But those early modular synth they used were freaking awesome.

    " It's enough. " Kingsley always seemed to emphasize simplicity. I think I remember reading an interview of his where he expressed the opinion that many songwriters make their music too complex to really enjoy. Personally, I think that it's really telling that Popcorn is a simple song put together on simple equipment and it's a perrenial favorite, even 40 years after it's creation.

    This song actually comes from an alternate universe where every object, food, species, and concept has a naturally-ordained theme. This is such a theme, meant for popcorn, that Kingsley managed to smuggle across to this universe.

    Beautiful. I always thought this was a very sad piece, & this demonstrates that he gave his most emotionally charged piece to buzzy synthesizers at the time. Amazing commitment.

    I am thankful for having heard this! Popcorn was the first song I heard played by a computer (BBC-B with a MIDI module) and I was blown away. But this... this has heart.
