" It's enough. " Kingsley always seemed to emphasize simplicity. I think I remember reading an interview of his where he expressed the opinion that many songwriters make their music too complex to really enjoy. Personally, I think that it's really telling that Popcorn is a simple song put together on simple equipment and it's a perrenial favorite, even 40 years after it's creation.
I had no idea he passed away in 2019. I know you aren't here anymore to see this but you're a fabulous person and your music paved the way for so much to happen!
This is such a simple yet brilliant melody and it's beautiful to watch this man play it at such age and imagine that it came out of his head a long time ago

This song actually comes from an alternate universe where every object, food, species, and concept has a naturally-ordained theme. This is such a theme, meant for popcorn, that Kingsley managed to smuggle across to this universe.
Beautiful. I always thought this was a very sad piece, & this demonstrates that he gave his most emotionally charged piece to buzzy synthesizers at the time. Amazing commitment.
This song makes me want to live another day. Each day. Despite its pop culture... it gives me so much meaning, its way that its played on the piano. A sad song that doesnt end sad. That it turns out like there is ALWAYS another chance.

I am thankful for having heard this! Popcorn was the first song I heard played by a computer (BBC-B with a MIDI module) and I was blown away. But this... this has heart. Thank you Gershon Kingsley, where ever you rest your soul.
All my respect and admiration to Mr. Kingsley for this wonderful jewel. Complexity does not mean greatness. Greatness is in simple things and this song although it seems simple, is a great masterpiece that I am sure mankind will never forget... Thank you Gershon.

Of Course he did not give birth, but a fine Way Point for sure
He somewhat perfected what should sound. Runaway have a synth solo though. But those early modular synth they used were freaking awesome.
how could a man give birth?
