I know I'm stretching the definition a bit here, but IMO FFXIV is the biggest... well, the best, at least... homage to a particular company's IPs.
I mean, they referenced Puppeteer and Pain. No one remembers those games.

@@DarkSharingan21 Actually, they have a lot of franchises, it's just that they haven't brought them from the original Xbox or early 360 days to modern consoles, so they're in the dust. They just don't embrace them nor have the fanbase that Playstation exclusives do

There was a Demon’s Souls reference showing a Maiden in Black bot leveling up a Player bot, I believe it was in the GPU forest level

Also, right next to the Killzone reference you can see a skull with a green helmet. That's a reference to Resistance that they missed

My buddy got a PS5 recently, and we ran through this game together and man, it was just such a fun time hunting down all of these references. This was such a wonderful love letter to Playstation and it was a great time! Haven't seen a company retrospective done this well since the Smash Bros series from Nintendo!

Silent Hill and DMC were amazing ones, especially the DMC one they nailed Dante pretty much, but my favorite is. SONY RECOGNIZING THE VITA EXISTS!

Yeah loved they used Dante and the Marionette from DMC 1, my all time favorite game.
One of the npc bots you can unlock in playstation labo throws around a blue boomerang which kinda resembles the canceled boomerang controller for the ps3. If anything, the only relic I'm shocked is not in this game is the playstation tv (the mini-console version of the vita)

I love how a demo game is far more innovative than most of Ubisoft, EA, and Activision titles.
Astro's Playroom made me cry atleast twice. This isn't just a great platformer, but a wonder heartfelt love letter to the ps legacy!

This game brought a huge smile to my face the entire time. Actually made me feel emotional at times from all the nostalgia of past PlayStation games, accessories, and consoles.
I feel like Kingdom Hearts, Twisted Metal and Heavenly Sword should have been included in the Easter eggs

I never expected to see Jumping Flash or Vib-Ribbon again, yet here they are. This is actually amazing.
Jumping Flash! was one of my biggest surprises and reactions of the game. Everything else was usually met by chuckles and aww's. But for this, I actually yelled, "JUMPING FLASH!!!!!!!!"

Loved the implementation of Metal Gear's alert effect in the music.
this game is so amazing. Its more than just a tech demo for the new controller, its a standalone game with enough content to entertain for hours and even after having all the trophies, there`s still stuff to explore

Just the easter eggs and references make me emotional. I played on Sony consoles my whole life and some of my favorite games are Sony exclusive. I love this game so much.

I like how they put so much work into the spiders so they don't trigger arachophobes.
It does bug me how the idle animations kick in after about a half-second of inactivity. Especially since the game is obviously inspired by 3D Mario, which is generally more restrained with it's idles.

For ALL those who still say "No GTA", "No Gran Turismo", "No Persona", "No Twisted Metal", etc., I tell you this: other references are also in getting the official objective game trophies, which aren't shown in this video.
P.S.: Eight television/camera easter eggs are missing in the video: which are: "Dude Raider" (Uncharted prototype title) and "Abzu" in the Cooling Springs level, "Um Jammer Lammy" (along with Parappa) always in the Cooling Springs level, "Demon's Souls" and "The Playroom" in the GPU Jungle level, "Street Fighter" and "Resistance" (the latter together with Killzone) in the SSD Speedway level, and "Farpoint" always in the SSD Speedway level.
Something about the Knack easter egg feels like a bit of a reference to its lack of success haha

The nostalgia is crazy, the Easter eggs are great and the overall feel of the game is spot on from level design to gameplay and even the amazing soundtrack
