Like call me jaded but after seeing the series be dormant for an ungodly amount of years after Defiance and knowing that the franchise has suffered through 10 cancelled projects in a row, it's a little hard to not be skeptical of the project's survival. Hopefully I'm dead wrong and Crystal Dynamics and (Presumably?) Aspyr manages to pull through and finally bring the series back to life. I do still have some shred of hope in my broken heart despite what I just said above.
@@blazed185 yeah, though Gamespot said they talked to Dark Horse Direct at that Comic Con, he said it would come out in August, we're in September already and nothing ever came out of that. Only thing we've got right now is that prequel graphic novel

This game came out at the most perfect time, celebrating now 30 years of PlayStation since the first PlayStation back in 94'. I've been a PlayStation fan ever since.
It was my first console. Ridge Racer and Jumping Flash were the first games I ever played. As I’ve turned 30 myself this year, it’s been quite the journey!

this game is the pure rubbing alcohol to the concord wound still rotting.
Hope Astro sells enough to cover their losses, it’s already on the top charts of many retailers and selling out at some.
And the fact that so many studios were gutted to pay for Concord, only for it to not even be mentioned in this game is the final nail in the coffin.

@@HealingVoice39 from what I've heard, Square-Enix, particularly the Squaresoft side of the company, don't tend to do crossovers with other studios. I read that when Namco were developing Soul Calibur II, they wanted Cloud Strife to be the PlayStation 2 exclusive character, but they were rejected, and while Cloud managed to appear in Super Smash Bros. for WiiU and 3DS, he only came with two music tracks, and according to some rumors he was the most difficult character to bring back for Ultimate, all other companies had no problems, but it was rumored that Square didn't want Cloud to be on the initial roster and that they'd have prefer him to be DLC, perhaps that's a reason why Sephiroth was added later

Yeah, he was weirdly absent from Playroom, too. I was hoping he and Gabe Logan would make it in.
Definitely odd since Twisted Metal was only referenced in a trophy for Playroom, just like Wild ARMs, but Rudy got a bot this time around while Sweet Tooth is missing once again, also, Final Fantasy is completely absent despite the Buster Sword's cameo in Playroom!
Yeah it's weird that he's absent considering that Twisted Metal was arguably the game that helped launch Sony's first party endeavors.

I'd KILL for a new Ape Escape
It’s an alright game. But it would have been better if they weren’t trying to copy smash. They had an amazing idea with the background being a war between two worlds and it was amazing. Seeing an army of Patapons kill Hades always gets me excited. Would have loved if they just made it a beat em up platformer kinda game with an option for co-op play. You have to navigate the world and fight enemies while two or more worlds are fighting a d destroying each other.

@@alejandromomota6934 that just makes the inclusion of Cloud and Sephiroth in Smash Bros. look even more impressive from a corporate standpoint, but I've heard Sakurai is so respected among Japanese game developers, that they can't say no to his proposals. Enix and Armor Project are similarly very protective of the Dragon Quest IP and there haven't been many crossovers, but the Heroes of DQ XI, III, IV and VIII were also added to Smash, even Sakurai thought Enix would only allow the Enemy Slime from DQ to be a playable character.
Sora from Kingdom Hearts it's a different beast altogether, since the Kingdom Hearts' IP is owned by Disney
@@pablocasas5906 Sora isn't a different beast. I'm pretty sure you already know it was Square and Nomura that were hesitant about his inclusion into Smash bros while Disney was heavily open to it.
@@Kingdom850 but Sora inclusion was up to Disney, since they own the Kingdom Hearts IP, every time Sora appears on a Final Fantasy games there's a Disney copyright notice attached to his name and Disney was listed in the copyright information on his Smash Ultimate reveal trailer. However, I've heard that Disney needed the final word from Tetsuya Nomura to include him in Smash, since he's the series creator after all, but his reasoning was kind of weird, he mentioned that Sora in Smash could contradict the canon of the Kingdom Hearts series

I got the BIGGEST smile on my face seeing Kutaro and Pikarina in the game! I absolutely loved Puppeteer but I know it want super successful despite the wonder, humor and creativity that's so abundant in that game. Seeing them be remembered in this made me audibly gasp and cheer. Thanks, Astro Bot!

This game just oozes charm and personality that I don't see much of modern gaming especially AAA titles

Feisar: The Super Missile is a super weapon used by Feisar in the F9000 league (Wipeout Fusion), which was responsible for the 2164 Temtesh Bay Disaster which led to the deaths of six pilots.
AG-Systems: Motto for AG-Systems during the FX400 League (Wipeout Pulse)
Qirex: Could be a nod to how good the shielding technology on Qirex ships are, despite lacking thrust. (Feel free to correct me on this)
Auricom: Novastorm is a reference to Psygnosis' game released under the same name in 1994 and the "You're never alone with a clone!" is a motto from the Auricom team during the F9000 league (Wipeout Fusion).
Piranha: Piranha was first introduced in the F5000 league (Wipeout 2097) as the fifth team in the game, in which you have to complete the game in order to unlock Challenge 2. Once completed, you will unlock the ship. The ship comes with max stats across the board, with the main drawback being it comes with no weapons whatsoever.
I love the piranha one, like...Wipeout Pulse's Piranha Anti-grav craft, ahh...my favourite
Now I REALLY want a sequel to PlayStation All-Stars! Seeing ALL OF these characters together, as costumes, makes me now think about the possibilities of it

This is definitely one of the most legend crossover ever made in gaming history, so cute and heartwarming, but it's so sad that most of these stories will never return or get remade, but at least they got a last appearance.

It is SO weird SQEX not accepting to insert cameo in Astro.
Square-Enix is not a company very open to the idea of lending their characters to other companies, for example, Namco wanted Cloud Strife to be the PlayStation 2 exclusive character for Soul Calibur II, but they rejected the offer, so Namco had to add a character they already owned, Heihachi Mishima from Tekken. Cloud was added to Super Smash Bros. for WiiU and 3DS, but that's because Masahiro Sakurai is a well respected figure in Japanese game development, and even then Cloud only came with two music tracks, and according to some rumors, he was the most difficult character to bring back to Smash Ultimate, some speculate Sephiroth was added because Square originally wanted Cloud to be a DLC character

@@locked89 well, I don't know how the negotiations between Nintendo and Square-Enix went, but considering Smash Bros's popularity, I think it's kind of difficult to say no.
Cloud's inclusion in Smash for WiiU and 3DS was very surprising for many, since we know that Squaresoft famously stopped working with Nintendo due to the N64 using cartridges instead of CDs and Final Fantasy VII was the game that cemented the realtionship between Square and Sony, but Sakurai actually considered adding either Bartz from FFV or Terra from FFVI, but chose Cloud since FFVII is the most popular FF game.
The Heroes from Dragon Quest actually made more sense, since with the exception of DQ VII and VIII, all mainline DQ games were released on Nintendo consoles and Nintendo has always tried to make DQ more popular in the West, even distributing and localizing the games themselves instead of Enix.
Sora is kind of weird, since technically the Kingdom Hearts series is owned by Disney, though Square develops the games and Tetsuya Nomura has the final say when it comes to crossovers.
