This song, "Journey to the Past," held a special place in Aaliyah's heart after she got the call 5:30AM that she was gonna perform it on that stage. She was the youngest female to perform at the Oscars until Billie Eilish but Aaliyah is still the youngest black female to do so at 19 years old🙏🏾RIP Aaliyah 👑 this song is from Warner Brothers' first animated film, "Anastasia." Aaliyah shot a video for it as well👍🏾
....in an off the rack outfit...a diamond company at the last minute loaned her some bling...the comedienne and fashion critic JOAN RIVERS couldn't stop saying how BEAUTIFUL AALIYAH was....at her FIRST...and ONLY VISIT....to the OSCARS....
Fun fact: Aaliyah was 19 years old when she performed making her the youngest female to ever perform at the Oscars.
I love her voice on this song.
She’s one of the youngest to perform at the Oscar’s at 19 years old.

Can you react to a video called Aaliyah’s best vocals?
BabyGirl 💙🤍
Dizem que foi Beyonce que deu fim nela
Intonation issues but its ok
Imo Aaliyah wasn't a strong vocalist. But her music arrangements, style, and presence made her stand out imo. Mary and Janet, I also put in this category.
What are you talking about ? She’s literally a strong vocalist here. Whitney wouldn’t say she loved Aaliyah voice if it wasn’t “strong”.
She was more of a dancer and a graceful presence.
@@giladmiller4259 wrong again.
She never got the chance to fully mature vocally but people always judge her abilities as if she was singing for decades. She did some amazing things in a short period of time. AMAZING. Like a 6 year career or so
@anthonyt7824 Absolutely, her voice would have really peaked in her early to mid 30s and it's sad the world never got a chance to it..What an impact she made!
