Kudos to the writers for making Anya and Dmtri's dialogue sound like something from a romantic comedy. With Meg Ryan and John Cusack voicing them it was guaranteed to be a home run.

This song always reminds me of my fiance. We actually kind of met in highschool, he was the kid that got into fights and i was the misfit that cared more about school then fitting in, Turns out later on I found out he got into fights to stop kids from messing with me they where trying to lets just say do cruel things to me. He found me on myspace one day and that first night we talked on the phone for six hours and kept on doing that then we met again and now we are together. I find it still amazing that i am with a guy that protected me when i was younger when we barely even talked and still does to this very day. I am very blessed to have him.

I’m laying down with my little one and this song came up so I played it for both of us. My little one is my dog and I wouldn’t be alive if it weren’t for him being born. This movie came out the same year I lost my mother and I lived recklessly for 12 years. Fast forward to 2009 I ended up in the hospital with a brain tumor a month after losing my grandfather to cancer and that was headed down the path to self destruction. Then later that year my life was saved by the cries of a newborn puppy and his mother let me handle him as he was born. He truly is the best to ever happen to me.

this is in my top 5 fave movies and this is a piece of my childhood and its 2015 and still watching, but its so underrated...... and i still have this movie in the caset style and it still works
I've been but I think in the movie they merged two palaces. The exterior at the beginning looks and the ballroom looks like was inspired by the Winter Palace in Moscow but I'm pretty sure Anastasia grew up in St. Petersburg. I visited the Summer Palace but I'm not sure if that's where they Tsar resided. There is a grand staircase but it doesn't open up into a ballroom like in the film though. Glorious palace regardless :)

+lula malek Disney will not make any related to massacre. It is just not its way. Every one wished Anastasia really had survived the firing squad of Bolshevik but that failed with DNA evidences. It is a great movie with good imagination anyhow.

I could never understand why people didn't like Anastasia; it was one of if not my favorites when I was little, and I still fall in love with it every time I watch it. Dimitri and Anya are one of the most perfect couples I've ever seen.

People dont like it because it was very historicaly inaccurate. Like alot people didnt like Disney`s Pocahontas because it didnt follow the real story.
Anastasia is unlike all those Disney princess movies that are too good to be true. A princess doesn't always have to end up with a prince. Everyone can be princess and prince in their lovers' eyes. This is life and destiny. It is what makes Anastasia so special and will always have a place in my heart.
Not all Disney princesses end up with princes. For example in Tangled or Frozen the princesses don't marry princes. It's not that uncommon for Disney nowadays. But the true originality of Anastasia and what made the ending so nice is that Anya gives up on her title. In Disney, if one isn't noble/royal then they'll marry in the noble/royal family of their partner and live a wealthy life, but Anya truly chose love, she didn't "get it all". Also Disney movies end on the couple getting married and living in their big castle, both supposedly being proofs of their eternal happiness. It's a true ending -> marriage for love + wealth are the finish line, the goal. While in Anastasia they are simply enjoying being together romantically and are going God knows where. It's not a closed ending, it's the beginning of their romance and new adventures, marriage and wealth aren't what makes one truly happy.

Love hate relationship between both Anya and Dimitri and Rapunzel and Eugene . Pascal and Pooka are alike as they get nervous whenever they see their owners kissing their spouses . Guy nearly dies and survives. There is a video on RUclips clarifying why Tangled is like Anastasia.

No other version can beat the original. Donna Lewis and Richard Marx’s version is just too perfect and super flawless. They have voices with so much character. The bar is just too high
I know super late comment, but when the movie came out Anastasia body hadn't been found yet, it was found a few years after the movie came out though, so the movie was kinda a prayer that she had survived.

Historians were pretty sure that she had died with her family (and sadly they were proved right) but I like to think of this movie as an alternative ending to her story - kind of a wish that things could have been different
My husband and I chose this song for our "wedding theme," basically. I used the instrumental version for when I walked down the aisle, and we danced to this version for our first dance together at the reception. That was 15 years ago this May, and we're still traveling life's journey together. And yes, we still LOVE this song!

Dimitri is one of the most beautiful animated people ever. It was too much for me 😅. I wanted to be animated.
You do know it's was a cartoon, right ? The real life Anastasia was only like 13 years old when she and the family were murdered.
Anastasia is unlike all those Disney princess movies that are too good to be true. A princess doesn't always have to end up with a prince. Everyone can be princess and prince in their lovers' eyes. This is life and destiny. It is what makes Anastasia so special and will always have a place in my heart.
All the Romanovs have a place in my heart. Nicholas may have made mistakes but did not deserve to die for them.
Not all Disney princesses end up with princes. For example in Tangled or Frozen the princesses don't marry princes. It's not that uncommon for Disney nowadays.
But the true originality of Anastasia and what made the ending so nice is that Anya gives up on her title. In Disney, if one isn't noble/royal then they'll marry in the noble/royal family of their partner and live a wealthy life, but Anya truly chose love, she didn't "get it all".
Also Disney movies end on the couple getting married and living in their big castle, both supposedly being proofs of their eternal happiness. It's a true ending -> marriage for love + wealth are the finish line, the goal. While in Anastasia they are simply enjoying being together romantically and are going God knows where. It's not a closed ending, it's the beginning of their romance and new adventures, marriage and wealth aren't what makes one truly happy.

I know super late comment, but when the movie came out Anastasia body hadn't been found yet, it was found a few years after the movie came out though, so the movie was kinda a prayer that she had survived.

Historians were pretty sure that she had died with her family (and sadly they were proved right) but I like to think of this movie as an alternative ending to her story - kind of a wish that things could have been different
