  • More than 200 officer cadets have commissioned as officers following the latest Sovereign's Parade at Sandhurst.
    In total, 209 officer cadets celebrated the massive achievement of completing 44 weeks of intensive training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
    Chief of the Defence Staff Admiral Sir Tony Radakin represented the King, with the head of Britain's military spending considerable time talking to the new young officers as hundreds of family and friends looked on.

    The passing out parade took me back a few years, although I was in the Royal Air Force, but nothing changes with these parades, well done to you all, may you all have a very period of service no matter how long you will be serving

      How should one progress any further? I was thinking about about doing this but my father says most officers basically get fired before the army has to pay them a full pension.

      @@Kus430 Every officer is trained to be an infantry office first thats what Sandhurst is all about ones you leave depending on your job you may be trannied in other fields its all soldering in one shape or another and if needed every office can command in the infantry role In Northern Ireland most Corps and regiments too an infantry role its your bread and butter at Company level after that the Infantry officer will do more higher level infantry courses Major and above but if you want basic soldering the Infantry is for you Para ect

    @jjsmallpiece9234 Yep low pay newly commissioned Lieutenants £39,671 per year.
    In comparison an Australian with the same rank receive $81,144

    • @heatherharvey3129
      @heatherharvey3129 24 дня назад +1

      Not a huge difference, around 2,000 pounds, since that amount of Australian dollars converts to around 41,720 GBP.

    • @jeremyschipp
      @jeremyschipp 24 дня назад

      @heatherharvey3129 The difference in pay might not be huge in the short term but otherwise it adds up.
      But the Australia is also going through a recurring problem and government is throwing money around but it is not working resulting in an army mostly made up of officers with few soldiers to command.

    Why does the female headdress of the various services always look like they’ve been deflated?
    Can they not wear the same pattern of headdress as males as is done in other countries?
    Berets seem to be a great exception to this uniform dress oddity.
    The intention of my comment/question is purely rhetorical, however I suspect it will stir up a conflagration of misogynistic attitudes and opinions.
