    It is great, Jim, that you have so much fun with building a new multi. Love it.

    I am amazed by the fact that Kurzweil designed a very user friendly user interface and shortcuts to access various functions this complex system. It is not a😊 touch screen, it is small and the design is basic but this maybe it. Like people preferring physical knobs in cars instead of touch screens

    Thank you! I always saw pads as being little more than toys and this kinda confirmed it. They are fun and seem to be useful at first but really they aren't.
    The biggest problem is that they are always on the right hand side, so whatever I'm programming on them I have to stop playing on the keys with my right hand to trigger it.
    So that's a serious amount of shiny and fancy technology which makes this otherwise great keyboard cost even more, while I can count on one hand the situations in which these pads could come in handy. And ion most of those cases I can solve the problem a lot better by other means, especially since I am a prog rock musician and a film composer and I like to play my sounds myself and not relegate the job to R2D2.
    Also, I don't quite understand why Kurzweil is sticking to the pitch wheel-mod wheel combo. I used a K2600 for a long time and I loved it but I always found joysticks to be far more intuitive and without the risk of grabbing one instead of the other in a live situation where for instance you are momentarily blinded by a stroboscope. But maybe that's just me, I don't know.
    And VAST seems to be incredibly complicated. Not impossible to understand and work with, but there were times when I had to figure out with my K2600 in which sub-menu of which sub-menu I was. And it took me ages to figure out how can I switch to the next patch in Quick Access using a footswitch Jordan Rudess style, if I'm also using multis.
    To say that the solution was counter-intuitive is an understatement.
    Now that I have to replace my K2600, I'm on the fence. This one is still on the short list but unfortunately not in first position, not even in second position.

    Thank you. Please post many more of these! Also, If Kurzweil offered a printed version of their manual I'd pay $50 for it or more. Please convince them to offer one!

    Great video and instrument, thank you! Only one question, is it normal that the keybed seems to be soo loud? Is it louder than other weighted master keyboard's? Thanks

    Hello Jim, thank you very much for the great video. I would still be interested in one topic: Programming a multisound with drum riffs and bass arpeggios. I think there are some great performance possibilities here.

    Thank you for the tutorial I really need some help with this instrument. How do you make rhythms and assign them to Pads. How does the CC sequencer work in general and how do you use it in multi's? How do you assign original samples to the pads?
    I need to have some rhythmic support for the band. Must ben able to adjust tempo real time so I can jump in.
    Greetings from Bruges!!

    What's the difference between the K2700 and the PC4?

    • @meestuinier4486
      @meestuinier4486 3 месяца назад +1

      It uses the same sounds. The 2700 has drum pads and a slightly nicer keybed if I recall correctly
      I own the PC4 and I'm loving it

      The k2700 is twice as heavy and has a built-in interface for connecting a microphone or guitar. Mac, Logic, K2700, microphone and all. You are already Billie Eilish2 (with the fantastic world of Kurtzweil sounds)

      @@Sboichenko So the 2700 is a lot beefier than the PC4.

    Jim, Can pads be used to trigger samples?

    • @ericvil
      @ericvil 2 месяца назад +1

      Certainly can! For one-shots, I usually create a keymap in a program, have that program as a zone in a multi with an equivalent number of notes to one-shots, and set up a pad for each one-shot/note as a momentary controller.

    To my personal taste the keys seem to be too loud……

      It is weird that they are so loud. I haven’t noticed that on other videos. You can here that he has a very sensitive mic as it gathers a lot of noises.
