brilliant footage, grew up there in the 80's and 90's I remember when fords , dunlops and sunbeam all went belly up and Cork became a closer city . I'm living in New York now yet will always be a Rebel ...... . This makes me remember all the friends I had as a kid and helping out my dad with every one of the delivery jobs he had . I spent so much time traveling around the city with him and meeting different people in different shops. I know it has changed now however thanks for giving me a glimpse of what used to be. --- Corcaigh Abu !

God I remember the trains going over Brian Boru and Clontarf. It is gas, the firm I work for did structural assessment on both of the bridges within the last five years, the expression on the young engineers face when I said to him "sure trains use to go over those bridges" he did not believe me, until I showed him a old photo. I think we have a copy of the original structural drawings in the office of one of the bridges, again, having to explain to to the young member of staff, " no, does drawings were done in CAD, they were done by hand drafting, they did not have CAD around the 1900's", that is how good the drawings were/are, they are like works of art. Sorry folks for rambling.

I remember having to walk across mats with disinfectant during the foot and mouth disease outbreak in the 70's and that it came right up into the city.
