...so this was the first ever Nintendo Direct? wow... the format has come a looong way since then.
yeah. But this was only the first Direct for North America. The very first Nintendo Direct was I believe around the same date. It was Iwata and Hideki Konno talking about Mariokart 7. This was in Japan.

God it is so weird coming back in Sept. 2019 and seeing how it all started. I actually forgot that the "What's wrong with you?" meme started here. Directs have definitely come a long ways and now this type of format is becoming the industry standard. Nintendo was really ahead of the time with this one.
It’s weird coming back and we’re getting a skyward word remaster. Time flies.

9 years since this direct. So many countless memories of the 3DS. Now my childhood is about to come to an end. Thank you, Iwata, and Reggie, for helping to make some of the most timeless games and memories from my childhood. Rest in Peace, Iwata. We all miss you.

When this was uploaded Skyward Sword wasn't released yet. Now, Skyward Sword HD is a month away, and Breath of the Wild 2 is on its way. Time really flies.

I can’t believe that it has been 10 YEARS since the first Nintendo direct. So many great games have been announced through these directs. Most importantly they talk about Shrek in the first one.
