There should be an alarm function instead of the 24h subdial. Actually, they should bring the Flighmaster back. The one with the white dial with blue subdials and with solar. I also think the hands should actually be framed in flat black. The chrono second-hand and minute hands should be fluorescent orange because red is too dark in my opinion.
Uncle straps make a replacement clasp piece for this watch that gives an extra micro adjustment hole, does the job although it's a bit more rattle-y than the Seiko one
You won't just go out and buy a $25 21mm leather strap you like? If that is the case... There is more than just the very very very typical poor bracelet(so par for the course with Seiko it's funny you even mention it anymore) that is preventing you from buying the watch. If you truly loved the watch you'd just buy a strap and enjoy the heck out of it.
It’s a beautiful watch and a steal for $400-$500. I’ve had killer luck with my SRPD and SRPE watches, perfect time and great QC. I’ve had much more expensive watches from Junghans and Hamilton and Tissot, but I keep coming back to Seiko.
I agree with you about the strap completely. I love the watch, I bought it 3 weeks ago from Japan for my bday. The 24hr hour dial should be an alarm like my 90s seiko chronograph with tachometer.
This watch was quite well discounted right when it came out. As for flaws, there are many, but the endlinks don't qualify IMO - several Daytonas have an endlink that doesn't look well matched. I can see the lack of micro-adjust being an issue, but for me it's the heavily recessed date, which looks like a design problem they just didn't care to address, even on the newest generation of the Speedtimer.
I could live with the bracelet and micro adjustments, but I can not stand the 24 hour dial on the right. It is so useless. And it is not this particular watch problem only. 😢
Not that I am much of a chronograph person. The overall pricing and QC issues at Seiko have killed the brand for me. Still, this seems like a nice effort. Shame about the bracelet though.
There is nothing wrong with the bracelet and 21 mm straps are ten a penny, they have been for years. Cettainly since before RUclips even started in 2007. Why do RUclipsrs thinks its an issue... Bizarre.
2024 and they're still using pin & collar. Pathetic. No wonder companies such as San Martin are slaughtering Seiko for quality and specifications. And value!
Totally fails….fashion watch 24 hr. dial……….just worthless. Give me quality quartz with a 12 hr. dial & a 30 minute totalizer, NOT 60 minutes which is very hard to read even in light turbulence. Good review, Thanks
Why do people expect anything other than the substandard fayre Seiko have pumped out for the last 10 years? Especially where their woeful bracelets are concerned. It's because of this BS 'heritage' which is somehow supposed to be important. According to their pricing Seiko unbelievably believe they should be placed on the same level as Hamilton, Tissot or Christopher Ward... Seriously? They are absolutely nowhere near those stella brands. Seiko should be pricing themselves against AliExpress brands because that's where their quality and materials used places them.
It's weird to me that people whine about having a 24 hour subdial, but are quite happy with a moon phase.

There’s just nothing wrong with that bracelet 🙄
@@Mark-sd7fcnothing at all wrong with it.
Uncle Seiko has a 3 micro adj. for these 18mm

It's a nice watch, I haven't bought one, yet, I still can't get over the date, why would you do that?
Reference the 6138's Seiko.

The bracelet is not ill-fitting it is the style of it and Seiko are not the only one doing it now it's a form Style
I was thinking about one of these for my next watch but noticed the lack of micro adjust on the clasp. Not so sure about it now.🤔
Just get a better strap. There are a plethora out there.

Great video 👍
But that’s actually the first time I hear that sapphire doesn’t have any reflections…
Would it fit an 8'' wrist?
Just add a rally strap there

If only they'd made it a white dial. The silver looks awful in person in comparison to the photos.

Too many adverts.
Good
also 1/2 links ...
Shame they missed up on certain parts, Seiko drops the ball on many watches alas.
The stupid 24 hour subdial ruins it.

Good review. Seiko lost my business years ago. Their QC is atrocious.
😂
