In a lot of ways wrestling and shonen anime/manga work on the same principles. Good guys vs bad guys, the inherent silliness and absurdity and the sense of physical unreality where things stretch and pull past normal limits. A lot of anime fans are wrestling fans because it gives you the same feelings in a lot of ways
