I really enjoy mine so far. I got it 5 hrs ago and Immediately tested it out on a quick hike. Thanks for the walkthrough, now I am gonna read this giant manual.
Thanks for the review. Your review is the most thorough I've seen yet for the PAG240. One feature not mentioned, though, is the "auto-light" when you turn your wrist. Also, when I watched the video, a black square blocks part of the screen for about 2-3 seconds--not a big deal. Great review!
It´s a very nice watch, I have it for about 3 years now, the only thing I don´t like about it is the strap, it is nice, soft material and very light, the problem is that on my wrist is either too lose or too tight, I seem to have missed the sweet spot, also is too stiff and sort of wants to hang or tilt to one side too much. Other than this is a nice piece of time keeper and much more. I recomen it. 😎👍 🇨🇦
The barometer is SO FRIKKING ACCURATE that it might rain all around you but if that dot goes up one notch it wont rain where you are (it happened while we were playing golf). JUST AWESOME.
@@NathanChisholm041 Ya. I would get it from amazon (great deal). Besides the barometer, make sure you know all the functions (sunrise/sunset, world time etc etc) to really take advantage of the features. You'll love it!
@@TheFlyingExperience I currently own 25 G-Shock's including the Rangeman which has the ABC sensors! I'll get it on U buy its really cheap compared with other sellers. Cheers mate
Had this watch 11 years it's a total work watch. A lot of scrapes and scratches on the watch. But unfortunately it couldn't hold up to sea salt.after the years it gradually developed a leak and moisture got in. Gonna replace it since the screen is fading. But if u don't do the stuff i do its gonna last you for quite some time.
Why would you black out the latitude and longitude when based on your time zone altitude and the weather patterns on that specific date you've shown us we can determine the general area you live in down to the county
Fantastic and helpful review. I just purchased a similar used Gshock Pathfinder and seems like the functions are identical. Your vid really helped me out except for one thing... it seems my compass reading is off and will need to be calibrated?
Just got this watch over the Gshock, already have the Garmin Fenix 5. I love it, endless battery, usable ABC. True survival watch imo. My only gripe is the thermometer being off by a unmeasureable amount. Other than that I'm very satisfied.
HarryCo4 Ah thanks, I guess what I meant about the thermometer was if my skin adds 5-10 degrees, i could just subtract that value. Alas, only a small gripe. Just curious, how has the watch held up since posting this video?
Good job Young Man....I was thinking of getting one at $180 but seeing if it'll drop a little more.... doubtful if I'll get it at $120 though!! Thank you!!!
4:00 - On the sunrise and sunset screen, I'm not seeing that the blue lines are pointing to either 6:25am or 8:15pm... they seem to be instead pointing at 10 and 3ish... so they must mean something else.
I little big and complicated to operate, specially when you need to calibrate your altitude. It should be automatically, or just pressing one button. The chronometer shows only minutes, we need seconds. Do you have another watch.
have you had any problems with it iv been thinking about getting this one or the Suunto core black but I've been seeing and hearing alot of bad reviews on it your thoughts?
Raymond Lopez i have it.its a beautiful watch.no problems at all.the light is not good but its enought to get the job done.other thing i dont like its a bit bigger even i have big hands.
Why didn’t you mention that when you turn your wrist the light automatically turns On!! BUT I HAVENT WORN MINE IN A LONG TIME . NOW THAT IT CHARGED AGAIN THE LIGHT ISNT WORKING FOR SOME REASON????I WAS HOPING YOU WERE GOING TO EXPLAIN HOW THAT WORKS???IF THEIR IS AN ON - OFF SWITCH??
+HarryCo4 Thanks for the reply. I've tried every option to see what it means but couldn't find it. Since you're into it, can you please try and find it? Thanks again.
Hold down the ADJUST button until you enter the settings menu, press the MODE button two times, press the ALT button, and finally press the ADJUST button two times.
Hey, thank you for the video. Ibought the same watch but im from Colombia and in the city list doesnt appear any city option to choose. What I have to do to conf tje watch with my country time? I have to change check or conf other thing different that date and time? I wait your fast reply. Thank you.
HarryCo4 Thank you very much for your answer.... I have other question.... I see that the watch doesnt show the correct temperature of the zone... How can I fixed it? Thank you very much.
Juan Esteban Cabrera Ocampo Keep in mind you have to let it sit off of your wrist for about 20 min to get an accurate temperature, but if you need to adjust it just hold down adjust on the temperature screen.
Karan Vir it cant be correct when its on ur wrist because of the body heat.its calibrated good at the factory but to mesure right u should take it off and put it somewhere with the sensor up.
Came here because I am from Arizona and we don't have daylight savings. Had to figure out how to disable it hahahah We don't do that nonsense in the desert. The time, is the time.
I bought one (pathfinder) and each day I understand it better. It is great for hiking which is a hobby of mine. Great video! Would be nice to have a video that was tutorial. One that teaches you how to set things up. Took me days to figure out how to go from metric to feet. Mostly, because my job takes a lot of my time.
So I have the exact same watch. Temperature always reads 83-86°F while on my wrist despite being 30-40°F outside, but if I take it off and let it sit for a while it reads the right temp. Which confuses me on whether I should calibrate it or not. I've read nothing but good reviews about this watch so I'm assuming it's user error. Has anyone else had this issue?
Issues: 1. Bought 2 of these. And syncing the time on both only lasts a few days. Then they show a few minutes different time. 2. the led light goes on now when i just move the watch. dont need to press button.
Does the light come on all the time when you don't want it, like every time you move your arm/wrist, or does it need a specific wrist turn (which is what you want)
Great timepiece here. I've had mine for 8years now, and it's been absolutely brilliant. 💯💥

Hey, the box is covering my latitude and longitude, sorry I forgot the auto light.
HarryCo4 Smart move on lat-long. No prob on light. I hope your review gets higher on the list. Unfortunately some have a big head start. Best anyway!
MäntyKarhu what about shock absorbent is this model shock resistant to a certain degree !??
One of the most simple & excellent reviews I’ve found on RUclips.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I've had mine for 6 years now and have basically beat the shit out of it and it still works great
For how much you buy before 6 years?
The barometer is SO FRIKKING ACCURATE that it might rain all around you but if that dot goes up one notch it wont rain where you are (it happened while we were playing golf).
JUST AWESOME.
So are you happy with it so far? I may buy one...

Hey Cody did a great interview on that Casio very nice watch man thank you for sharing super awesome 🇺🇸👍😎🖐️
Thanks for the upload, I wasn’t sure if I should get it but after watching I’m sold! Casio better be throwing you commission!

Nice job. Good review and I like that you went through the functions :)
its great you walk through all the different functions, but how do you CALIBRATE the damn thing?!?
Nice one man. I like this watch for many reasons but there are hardly any reviews on it, and nobody raves about what a good watch it is.
Fantastic and helpful review. I just purchased a similar used Gshock Pathfinder and seems like the functions are identical. Your vid really helped me out except for one thing... it seems my compass reading is off and will need to be calibrated?
I think if you hold down the adjust button you can recalibrate it.

powderrida The thermometer is only accurate after the watch has been off your wrist for a half hour.
HarryCo4 Ah thanks, I guess what I meant about the thermometer was if my skin adds 5-10 degrees, i could just subtract that value. Alas, only a small gripe.
Just curious, how has the watch held up since posting this video?
powderrida Still working great! Most of the decals are still there too!
I love mine so light duable and easy to read
good video - it would be good if some of the buttons around the bezel lit up too
Nice review, man! Thanks. Just got one off ebay and looking forward to using all this info to set mine up. Respect
What is the model of the Solar powered rechargeable battery? Is it a CTL-1616 or something close to that? Great video.
I'm not sure what type of battery it has. I've used mine every day now for over four years and it's still working great!
Is it a good choise for 2021?
Good job Young Man....I was thinking of getting one at $180 but seeing if it'll drop a little more.... doubtful if I'll get it at $120 though!! Thank you!!!
Does the barometer alarm when it gets to a certain low point to indicate a storm, or do you just have to keep an eye on the barometer?
How can I adjust sunset and sunrise I can't see.
Also altitude and longitude. Can you show me somebody?
For this same watch PAG 240.
Thx🙋🏼♂️👍

Nice review. Holy God though, what's the diameter on your wrist?

How do you change it from celsius to Fahrenheit
I am trying to judge the size of this watch. What is your wrist circumference? Thanks.
around 7.5 inches

Mad Russian yeah too damn bad they didn't made the light prettier like with other models!!!
Best review. Really helpful
Far from the best
Do you think it's okay to buy the watch now ?
Why didn’t you mention that when you turn your wrist the light automatically turns On!! BUT I HAVENT WORN MINE IN A LONG TIME . NOW THAT IT CHARGED AGAIN THE LIGHT ISNT WORKING FOR SOME REASON????I WAS HOPING YOU WERE GOING TO EXPLAIN HOW THAT WORKS???IF THEIR IS AN ON - OFF SWITCH??
Hold the light button for a few seconds, to turn on or off the auto light feature.
Is it protrek prg-240-2er or prg-240-2dr? I think it's not Pathfinder, the older one was called as Pathfinder.
His wristband says pathfinder
IT WOULD BE NICE IF YOU TOOK IT OFF YOUR WRIST SO THAT ITS NOT MOVING SO MUCH
Hi.. Thanks for the detailed review. Just wanted to know what's the symbol right below the PS symbol? thanks!
That's a good question. I never noticed it, I'm not sure what it does.

+HarryCo4 Hey.. Found it.. It's the alarm on indicator. Thanks for your help.
Alarm and hourly chime..
how is the Casio Pathfinder PAG 240 watch holding up?
It's doing great! I still wear it every day.
Thanks. I've had this watch 4 years and couldn't remember how to change the time for daylight savings.
Thanks, good review!
im planning to but orange version is it good watch? still working?
Yes, it's still going strong!
How to set the 24 hrs clock display? I tried to do it but I could not.

do the buttons wear down and squeak when pressing

Any issue with the watch yet since 2014?

RandyClose69 is this model shock resistant or shock absorber!
This watch is so hard to set up. Thinking about returning because of this
🤡
Is this shock absorbent somehow like the g-shocks !
It's not the same as the g-shock, but it has taken a beating over the last few years and is still working great!
Fly By Tire hehee Okay that's what I wanted to hear. Thanks.
how do I switch from meter to feet while using the altimeter?? thank you!
You can't change it for just that mode but under the main settings you can change the units.
Cool got it, thank you!

impossible. off by a few minutes in a few days would be unbelievably inaccurate for a pair of quartz watches

How do i change it from metric to imperial?
nice review!

Thanks,,,,I found the manual online.... All OK...

Does the light come on all the time when you don't want it, like every time you move your arm/wrist, or does it need a specific wrist turn (which is what you want)
It's a Casio dude, you turn the "auto light" feature on or off, whenever you like...
long black screen was bad idea
