Ultimately it's up to user to decide on sound and action. Casio might get a little noisier over time (unimportant when practicing with headphones). PH-4 action on Roland used with the cheapest FP-10 all the way up to FP-60x - outstanding deal for action on cheapest DPs, less so on more expensive ones. Roland action also a little heavier than normal, Casio a little lighter than normal. So you really need to try them out in person!

@@andymerrett No because a Grand piano is a real beautiful sounding device which is the real thing. If I'm going to get a Electric piano I would be far better off buying a decent quality 88 midi keyboard and then loading up a professional recorded sample of a grand piano.

Might not be so good for other people who want to just sit down and play, no messing about with wires or software or laptop stands or separate amps or monitors blah blah blah -- e.g. kids just learning, older folks who don't use computers much, a chapel or school with lots of different people using the same piano day to day. @@HOLLASOUNDS You can buy a digital piano with hundreds of patches. These cabinet versions tend to be limited to 20 or so. I have VSTs and prefer not setting up a computer and keyboard when all I need to do is hit the power button on my stage piano, workstation, or MPC and I have sound. Not everyone prefers DAWs and VSTs. Some of us are more tactile.
I often play the Casio Px700 at night because i rarely have free time to play it during the day. As a result, I have to play at a lower volume. The piano's plastic keyboard sound are super noisy, I just cannot hear if i played correct chords or not. Does this happen on Roland?
casio piano samples always sound horrid to me. I can hear the adjustments digitally... if that makes any sense. It sounds so fake and cheap sounding even when I've tried their mid range 1500 dollar keyboards. I'd take a roland over these. You aren't going to be using the inline speakers if you are doing gigs anyways... no freaking way. If it is for practice, home-use, or for recording... ALWAYS go for functionality or sound samples over loudness. Or whichever way your heart so desires. It is a really personal realm once you enter keyboard purchasing though I suppose.

Probably better to buy a decent 88 midi keyboard or 88 sythersizor as electric piano only have one or a few sounds.
