the best part of this song is the fact that it plays during a mission where you annihilate the in-game equivalent of the entire United States Air Force
Showdown accompanies one of the best missions in the game, where it is just a mid-air brawl between two air forces that kept reinforcing a small conflict until neither side could afford to back down. Then you introduce the player character, Monarch, into the fight, and you hear this music, and you kind of understand that this energy is what Monarch must be feeling. He's a flying ace, completely focused and 100% in his own element, and everyone else is just trying to keep up. They really nailed it.
Besides Kings, Showdown is probably one of the best if not THE best track from Project Wingman. Song is great on its own, but the mission and background chatter it goes with really pulls it all together. For context, this is from the largest air combat mission in the game (Mission 11) where the entire air force of both sides are dogfighting in the same space. It's so crowded that the sky is just a tangle of missile trails. For everyone else, it's about survival. For you, it's a playground.
I do appreciate those, but Peacekeeper II + intro is actually my favourite. And I guess Jose also has some strong feelings to it, given he's included it into his live orchestra video. P.S. Same in AC7 - everyone are crazy about Daredevil, and for a good reason, but I personally prefer Archange over it.
It's starts powerful, because the mission starts with you descending into an already ongoing clusterf of a large scale aerial battle, and it's up to you to turn the tide. There's planes, missiles and trails in the sky everywhere above the clouds, and a storm inside and below them.
Not gonna lie, showdown is probably my most favourite ost in project wignman hands down, glad you finally reacted to it (ps if you want some recommendations, I'd say go listen to king's court, red sea or peacekeeper II)
Nice one, man! Great to see this iconic track on the channel! The visuals and soundscape of mission 11 paired with this bombastic track are the most memorable thing in Project Wingman for me! My top choice for another PW track would be World on Fire from the Project Wingman: Frontline 59 soundtrack. It feels a lot like the sequel to Kings. Anyway, thanks for the video and have a good one!
You NEED to get into Ace Combat, the game that inspired this game. Ace Combat has similarly amazing OSTs, it's so legendary in gaming music they played a song from Ace Combat 5 at the Tokyo Olypimcs
This is the best mission in the game imo, both in terms of gameplay and just raw vibes. There's a reason the music is so chaotic and energetic, and it's because it's the biggest airfight in the story, with so many planes flying around that it's really hard to even tell what's going on sometimes Obviously it's not the pinnacle of the story (though it's still really cool story-wise), but the vibe is unmatched, and it's the first time you're expected to actually FIGHT Crimson Team, which was especially fun for me since I got to see how much I improved since Mission 6, where I had to spend 2 hours of attempts trying to beat ONE member of that squad
Such a fun track played in the most fun mission of the game. It's just an embodiment of FEEL GOOD energy both in terms of gameplay and music. Speaking of another tracks from Project: Wingman... I'd bet on "Professional Execution" it's very different both to this track and to Kings.

Gods the music is so good

Mission 11-A : Ever-escalating Clusterfuck playground
Mission 11-B : Hello there. Your name?

When they said it's the largest furball they really meant it. Like, It's a literal furball made from trail smoke

Project Wingman
Episode 11: Showdown over the Bering Strait!

1000%, Project Wingman's Frontline 59 does not pull punches with the OST's, really shows what Jose is capable of
Goosebumps all the way through. This track really made the mission even better. Pure dogfight kino.

Ooh, there's gonna be so much more coming your way with Project Wingman!
Showdown is my favorite video game song ever. Makes any battle, especially air battles, epic.

AY this might sound like a weird request but I do want to see you react to bloodstained philosophy from yakuza 6 >:D
Day 2 asking for reaction of Endless Path from PGR
I get to things once a week on average. You'll be asking for a minimum of 6 days by default 🗿
Oh good, keep it up!
@@CatharsisYT I can only hope I have the drive to continue asking 🥲🥲
