Right on, but yeah poor gladiator sure took some hits, I mostly run non-vented. Really prescient the info, I’m always learning appreciate your sharing add watch for more
For bashers I ALWAYS vent. It’s essential; my revo tires were horribly unbalanced and shaky until I vented them and got the debris out. It also makes your tire much less of a “pizza cutter” so it helps high speed control. But on crawlers I prefer some sort of anti foam so venting is also beneficial since they’re fully waterproof and fully adjustable. It’s also counterproductive leaving a tire unvented since the air pressure won’t let your foam do what it’s meant to do… I also hate the amount of bounce you get unvented, trying to bump up a lip can be a pain when your whole car bounces 😅 but again this is all with antifoams in mind
Why would traxxas sell a vented wheel vehicle, recommend covering the wheel holes with tape if running in wet/snowy weather, and then tell us to vent the tires? There has to be some benefit to expelling the liquid through the tire vent holes vs relying on the wheel. Centrifugal force will pull any contaminants to the outside of the tire where the recommend the home made vents. But why have the wheels vented out of the box? Are they messing with us? Do they even know which is better?
Venting your tires is recommended at least for the unlimited desert racer otherwise it just built up inside but if you vent them it has a way to escape I guess it’s their version of a homemade paddle wheel
Great video and great information just one thing bud they're not "neat-o" tires. They are said NIT-O and are a huge tire company that makes tires for full-scale cars. Nitto tires are a very well known brand. Sorry for being "that guy". I don't really know how to make this sound like I'm trying to be helpful and sometimes texts can come off real cocky and/or rude It was definitely not my intention so hopefully you don't take it that way.
@@3Dprint4you No it doesn't not at all. That's why I specifically put in my first comment that I wasn't trying to be a know-it-all smart ass and I hope he didn't take it that way. And from his reply it didn't seem he did at all which I'm glad. Sometimes on the internet Just a simple statement can sound like a cocky comment even if it's not intended that way
You missed probably the only real comparison you should have done. There should have only been 4 categories, vented with hard foams (vented with soft foams), nonvented with soft foams, and nonvented with hard foams. Throwing in vented with no foams on tires that were not designed to be run that way, was that meant to be a joke. Your testing parameters made no sense.
Still hear hear your gladiator is clicking cause you haven’t spun the bearing around yet. They come backwards from the factory. Just go ahead and spin it so the pin fits into the rounded side. Not the flat square side. Clicking. Gone.
nice comparision good to have you back buddy
This was a really great video and answered my question! If you run soft foam you can still get tire to compress being non vented. Thank you
Very important information about the different foam for the tires.
Your truck sounds like it has a rod knock! You should get that fixed before you end up stranded! Lol

Thanks for this. Demonstrated these comparisons really well.

if your tom has vents do you tape them up ?
Great stuff!!
Yeah that’s why I don’t vent, don’t want to water and crud getting in
Should I vent or shave some foam off my inserts?
That's up to you. I don't vent any tires

poor, poor gladiator! Great video though and awesome helpful information. How about the non vented tires and wheels without foam?
Not sure. Didn't do that combo yet.
Thank you
Very informative video

Yep, I am familiar with the company, just pernounceing them wrong lol. Thanks!
@UCqLdk4ub6Imhh6M7KRojZTg I think it would be pretty cool to drive around on a set of neato's honestly. 😁
Nitto, Neato, potatoe, patatoe, doesn't make the tire perform different. :-)

I'd think if you're gonna run without foams that you wouldn't vent your tires. That kinda defeats the purpose lol
no foams and no vents is neat for scale bulge in the tires but they roll so easy on the hills i personally cut foams in half
You missed probably the only real comparison you should have done.

Dude. Like 7 months went by!! I forgot you existed cause the algorithms shadow banned you from me news feed man. So dumb.

That was done a year ago. No clicking from there. Probably all the other parts falling off lol!
