  • It has been a wet and chilly winter here in Aus. I like watching these kinds of longer reading vlogs on booktube so I thought I would try out making one. I learned a lot in the editing process and looking forward to making some more in July but let me know what y'all think! 💚

You definitely need some warm layers!!! I rec HeatTeach underlayers from UNIQLO and fleece-lined gloves from Aussie Disposals. Get yourself warm!!! (I struggle with cold fingers and toes too, especially when winter camping.) You can also get bean-bag-sized rice sachets (don't know their name) which can re-heat over and over in the microwave as pocket/hand warmers.

I think my heattech must have been in the mail while I was recording this vlog. I've been wearing it every day now 😂 I need to get lighter weight gloves for sure; I only have my north face subarctic ones that look like they're for like, summitting Everest lol

Heyyyyy! Found you via Bert & Siân (and I think you and I follow each other on Letterboxd). I’m in Melbourne. Definitely tipping isn’t a thing in Australia. Sometimes you can in hospitality situations, but it’s up to you (if you receive good service), and not a mandatory thing. Tipping in any other situation like haircuts isn’t something I’ve ever done or heard of. If you have a regular hairdresser for example you might buy them a gift at the festive season or tip them at that time of the year - but that’s your choice. We’re pretty easy going here! Love getting to know you via your channel 😸

Aw, I love Bert and Siân and you're such a good letterboxd follow 🥲 That's a good idea about the year end gift! It's an adjustment how easy going some things are but definitely for the better overall!! No tipping is definitely a step in the right direction for a host of reasons. Thanks for reaching out; always love a chat 💚
