You'd think the genius scientists back on Earth would've put in a redundancy plan that would awake AT LEAST ONE crewmember in case of something as catastrophic as a HULL BREACH
I mean they said it was failsafe so i think they never cared if a event like this happend😭
Think of the Avalon like the titanic. It actually makes sense why they wouldn’t care to implement something so simple yet crucial as what you said.
The amount of times that engine shut off, they probably just missed Homestead II by AT LEAST a couple hundred AU.
iliketrains0pwned The ship would probably make course corrections along the way for problems like that.
The ship losing power doesn’t change its direction. The power could go out completely and they would still reach homestead, it would just take much longer. They are basically on a ballistic trajectory. The power resetting doesn’t change the ship’s orbital mechanics. When a ship is launched into orbit, it throttles down when it reaches MAX-Q, that doesn’t change the direction it’s going in.
That's why its always important to bring some tape 🤣
Xd
Cheers...
Flex tape
My father be like:
When Apollo 13 experienced critical failure and decompressions the crew used duct tape among other items to fix their air filters nowadays though NASA uses something called Kapton which has a high temperature resistance but still functions like duct tape
10 minutes of malfunctioning scenes.
90 minutes of romance and drama.
This movie was promoted as an action thriller...
David S.lefort Joie right
@@davids.lefort1222 yikes, are you ok man?
@@davids.lefort1222 euhm lol
That's what let it down for me, and I found the main stars boring. Yes they have to have pretty faces but honestly I found both of them so plain and unremarkable and boring. Korben Dallas and Leeloo now that was a great sci-fi couple.
@@mikesully110 I agree with you. It would have been better as a disaster flick.
The artificial gravity is created by the centrifugal force of the spinning spirals. How can it be tuned on and off without stopping the rotation entirely?
UncleFester84 movie magic!
if you watched the video you will see that as soon as the power went out the spirals slowed down and stopped and then when the power came back the spirals started moving again and the gravity (g-force) came back
you cant just kill rotation randomly. you have to pass that angular momentum to something else. it's called convervation of angular momentum.
brakes, dummy, but why would they engage, idk
alxxpspqr u dumbass. They are not accelerating so they can walk just fine
I watched that amazing space movie like 37 times i got a DVD and i love it
This is a beautiful ship.
So, this super sophisticated spaceship with advanced AI was not able to calculate a route around the meteor shower?
Outback kangaroo hunting tutorials you'd think they'd have thought of that, like maybe know the path they're moving so that they can adjust course way earlier or something
but if they just moved out of the way of the meteor shower we wouldn't have a movie then would we
@@dexterzplace5553 It would be fine trip and no one exciting about the movie at all lol.
H
Its actually an asteroid field
Asteroids? In reality, much of space is incomprehensibly, and extremely empty. Space is so vast that it is possible to chart a course to another galaxy without being *remotely* near any debris whatsoever.
The bigger problem is that hitting astroids at 50% lightspeed would destroy every shield. This shield would be so strong you could hit it with every nuke on earth and it would still ben fine
@@anoniemw.222 It redirected the energy and dispersed it.
You are absolutely right.
Ok scientists, its a fucking movie.
You're not wrong about space being vast, but there are certainly still things like collections of asteroids. Perhaps this is the Asteroid belt between the terrestrial and gas giant worlds.
so someone built this big interstellar ship but they have no self propelled EVA capabilities... riiiiiiight that would be a failure to suspend disbelief.
The ship has so many faults no backup power,no secondary AI no automatic reactor shutoff photocall, no 2nd reactor vent...ect
@@mr.unitato7955 Nigga it ain't the UNSC Infinity
Its a movie.
@@justinsincoise6693 bitch, would you get on a spaceship that didn't have any of that?
"It'll kill you."
Starlord, quoting Thor: "Only if I die."
Pretty cool force field
Seriously the AI should have maintained the fusion reactor by itself instead of waking up and ruining 2 peoples lives
Finally someone else who knows what that is
b i s h w h a t It just goes to show, A.I. is the devil, don't trust it!
The computer was damaged, it requiered physical replacement.

@@leejackson4724 From a one to ten, how big of an idiot are you?
Personal favorite spaceship.
8:35 He’s taking the full power of a reactor
Meanwhile in another universe Thor took the full power of a star.
Now we know who’s really in charge.
😂
I love watching spaceships. Can you make a video of just spaceships from sci-fi movies?
Everyone bitching that it didn't avoid the asteroid, reality is asteroid fields aren't anywhere near this dense. It's a movie, get over it.
One of the best and underrated space movie
Great work! ,Thank you!
Oh! Nicely done! :D I wanted to make somewhat similar, but I got some weirdass copy with really dark sheme of sun and engine, so... Good thing you've made it! ^_^
Dancing silhouette for the win
Damn right, who was she?
Rickety ass ship. shit always be breaking on that thing
This was my favourite movie.
Starlord doing Starlord things
I was your 1000 like. I've never held such am honor.
Well, the moment he went space walking (6:56) was the moment I turned away... He should have been flung out from the ring he was standing on once he stepped off (Centrifugal forces).
He was at the center of rotation. Like being in the middle of a merry go round, you don't feel it like you would standing at the edge of it while it spins.
especially if the rotation speed doesn't change
Super film
While it’s graphics are beautiful, I wonder why the system didn’t wake the bridge crew when the system detected a critical malfunction, ie the reactor failure.
3:01 this movie should have ended from this moment😂
the fact that they passed by a star at such a distance without being blown away by radiation many times more than a nuclear bomb shows how unscientific this movie is.
Its called a film for a reason...
You need hull plating thick enough to not let radiation through, and the ship is absolutely massive, it's very plausible just from that
Add to that the plasma shield the ship has running that would add further protection : NASA made reports stating the physical process if a plasma radiation shield as sound (but it would be hard to design, though in the movie they already have it)
3:25 is the best sound
With Star-Lord on the job, they were never in danger!
na końcu... taniec godowy samicy, gotowej do rozrodu... :D
Mi película favorita ♥️
3:18 (Personal Timestamp)
Superb move 😘....
This movie is my favorite movie
This could have been such a great movie.....but the rush to end it was a fail
if the ship was malfunctioning how come his pod was the only one to open,on a ship that size are they saying he was the only engineer on board not a very good selection, did the outer door malfunction also so he had to stay there,if not bad design killing off any one who had to go fix it whenever i know it's a movie but there are so many plot holes, also why have only one med bed if she had decided to go back to sleep what if he got hurt,in all those years would he just wake her up throw her out every time he needed medical care then put her back to sleep.crazy.
Shitty writing.
I'll give you the statement about tge ship malfunctioning and waking up one person. The outer door scene is a problem with the ship. Why would a ship kill its own passengers? Lasty, what's wrong with putting her to sleep and waking her up when he needs to healed?
bookworm it’s just a movie you imbecile
@@augustjsb judging from how the deck chief died it's likely that going in and out of suspension is life threatening, but if it isn't that would be kinda dumb and illogical in a lot of ways
@@ironwar8501 Deck chief died because his pod malfunctioned and somehow gave him every disorder it could.
We have a Flying Dutchman!
Ship be running Windows 11.
Passengers 2 TLFD (The last final destination) sequel
I think the meteorite hit the reactor controller computer and the status wires (some kind like to report problems to the system) so that's why system computer don't know what causing all the malfunctions in the last 2 years
Jennifer lowrense is so beautifull😍😍😍
jennifer lowres is so pixelated.. LOL
Seriously, an AI that couldn't avoid obstacles?
Not at 50% light speed
At that speed, in order to change course only a fraction of a degree would require the most minute amount of course correction equal to the rotation of Pluto or everyone in the ship would be squished.
@@captcorajus
I have no idea what you just tried to say there.
Current speed has no effect on the crew as they are moving at the same speed. Acceleration is the only thing that matters.
@@TheAkashicTraveller Sorry. Wrong. Inertia and velocity matter. If the crew is moving 50% light speed... (as with the ship) Any sudden course correction would rip them apart.
Any course correction at that velocity would have to be done in the most minute amount of trajectory change (i.e. the equivalent arc of the orbit of Pluto for example) in order to not kill the crew instantly.
@@captcorajus Relativity say's I'm right. So far as the people inside the ship are concerned, no matter it's velocity, they are stationary because they're relative velocity to the ship is zero. Acceleration is the only thing that matters.
Now that said, the need to keep the acceleration within safe limits does limit the maneuvers the ship can pull off without killing the crew. If it can't see far enough ahead to avoid obstacles it really shouldn't be going that fast anyway.
very nice
Great Work again. Can you make Cloverfield or Godzilla moster scenes ?
I can do Godzilla i just don't have Cloverfield.
A Woman who was one of the voices of London Underground is behind that computer voice
There is an advance AI on ship, and if it couldn't repair the damage then it should have woken up high level person or engineer to fix it. I know at last all this was story demand. and there was no logic fits in it
The AI central unit was damaged, so it can't replace itself and didn't know what to do.
@@ES-qy2ju there was a secondary AI i believe, but it's still a dumb idea to wake up a crew member because of the ONE autodoc that they had
Can u tell which clip is used at the end of this video
Fantastic starship design... I hope reincarnation is for real so that I can ride one these babies in distant future....
that wasn’t reincarnation. They were basically dead, but after the flight, the hibernation pods they would wake them up.
It's not a bad sleepership design but it has a terrible computer. Though I really don't understand the point of a reactor door you have to manually hold open. Just give it blowout panels.
I love how the ship gives a collision warning when no one is awake to see it. The engineer literally thought it was necessary to put a collision warning notification. It’s supposed to withstand a collision. Why is a warning even a thing? 😂
Its called controll room
Got a big TOKAMAK style reactor with plasma spinning around at a few million degrees? Put a massive window in engineering so everyone can be blinded by the intense light and burned by the stupidly high temperature...
I do admit, I liked the light show the reactor gave us, but doing this on an actual spaceship would be absolutely moronic. They could have made this scene without having the massive windows. They could show the inside of the reactor, see the unstable plasma and then show us beeping screens saying the temp is too hot and the reactor is unstable, with a few alarms going off (info people can see). You still get the dramatic effect, without this nonsense.
If you want a story without the nonsense or cool visuals then go read a book.
I can't watch this type of movie in my hole life..... It's a awesome movie
Tack du är bästa😊
Powered by the ISM itself
I hope i can see the end 😁
Remind anyone of Seedship? (the game)
Bro... i just realized... Avalon is titanic 2.0 but in space and hella more complex... *h u h*
Passenger full movie now please
spoiler alert, watch it and enjoy it, nerds shhh eating my popcorn.
Movie references king arthur legends as an offshoot of adam an eve garden of eden legends as part of golden age myths. Arthur Avalon tree of life flood
If you want these big heft ass Sci technologies, which are very doable, I work on these concepts every day, the first thing you need to do I establish how to contain your energy source be it fission / fusion or a hybrid system or some other system from radiative contamination if said technology / craft falls out the sky and crashes, design of modular near indestructible housing vessels is absoluteley essential
Dont worry. The Guardians will be there to save you.
Why didn't he just use the space glue to keep the wrench still?
If he would have used it there was no such movie ending
Squid Balls maybe a roll of duct tape was not handy...😛😛😀
You and a co-worker get woken from suspended animation mid-flight and the first thing you do *isn't* go to the command deck and find out why. Sounds legit.
They do but it is behind a reinforced bulkhead. Protagonist spends weeks trying to get through with blowtorches and tools without success. Watch the movie before spewing nonsense
Not to mention, they aren't employees, they're passengers (hence the name of the movie)
Did you watch the movie ?
The scenes are cut together.
@@peterjensen6844 I thought Jim is in line of profession to handle the repair
So many things are wrong in just this clip.
1/ Space should really look almost pitch black. 2001, made decades ago, looks way more realistic than this
2/ Why did the AI not even try to avoid the asteroid field
3/ why are the lights on as they are sleeping? Seems like a waste of energy
4/ Terrible editing
5/ The gravity thing as pointed out
So many things wrong in your comment mate.
@Dylan Kimble the 3rd one makes no sense since the lights were on before the failures happened i believe, on the second one it's also because of making a turn at 50% light speed would probably shred the ship apart. on the 5th one there's probably a failsafe to keep the gravity increasing from a problem with the drive
I seen this movie twice. most fascinating: reading the comments, Some are most interesting. First off, It's fiction, just like in the real world of space exploration, so is the making of movies, Cost prohibitive. getting all those redundant back up operations built
in to the film, cost big time, messing with the original story line. Rolling back the clock,
I would of been around 14 there about: ? I'm 75 now: My parents leased an adjoining side of the house, The guy was an SU Mathematician, he was going to work for Nasa, once in a while he would talk to us, tell us some of the science / tech that went in to building a space craft. in short for those who don't know, it works this way: His portion of the work to be done, comes via dividing an area space in a section of the space craft, take a 2ft by say 18 inches, Q, what can we make to put in that space, for say it is sectioned off, and the talking heads say we want this and this,
say 6 items that will be apart of the operation of the space craft, Someone looks at his qualifications and say to him, this odd space, we want you to make this to fit in this area.
it's all peace meal. with many hands. It's all one of a kind: There is no mass production.
they mess it up, it's start over.
I want to add, The Universe is by intelligent Design, all to the Glory of GOD. It's speaks to His Greatness. Jesus is LORD.....
I bootlegged this movie and still felt ripped off.
i was in the meeting, then the gravity went offline...
Ravi Srikanth who wants to play a game of: Ima high-school dropout, let's argue physics!😀😀😀
I was not implying that you are the high school dropout.

If he could look through the passenger manifest and wake people up why didn't he wake up someone who knew what they were doing? Like, I don't know, the captain or the maintenance lead. Surely even a completely automated ship like that would at least have some emergency crew aboard.
The crew compartment was locked, so he could not wake somebody of the crew.
And man, it's Jennifer Lawrence, I would have chosen her too.
Why would you wake up the maintenance man instead of Jennifer Lawrence? You gay or something?
@@thersten exactly.
Plus hed have to share Lawrence and itll be a threesome

Great visual value ruined by shocking script. Sad.
That last scene where the male character had to open the main vent manually to cool the reactor, I didn't like. He should've died from the intense radiation poisoning in the fire. If Interstellar and The Martian can nail science perfectly in sci-fi films, this shouldn't slip by.
Other than that, good movie.
But fusion reactors would have to leave some sort of byproduct as a form of exhaust. No element can fuse together perfectly with no remainder of protons or electrons. So the radiation would have to exist somewhere in that type of reactor (especially when its ejecting tremendous energy to power a ship, into space) Some form of radioactive energy has to exist to pierce through the suit and into the skin. Fission reactors I can see having a much lethal form of "exhaust", if you will, expelling out the ports.
LOL, Interstellar and The Martian nailed science perfectly? Such as love surpassing dimensions, "quantum data" being sent through black holes and high-speed storms in practically non-existent Martian atmosphere?
@7 Bizarre Lane That's bullshit, basic physical laws are going to be valid no matter how many years into the future. There are things that haven't been done yet but could one day, and then there are things that we know now won't be possible.
@@jarhead565 You, my friend, made an excellent exposition, but you're terribly wrong.
Fusion Reactors, like the one in this movie, surely produce some waste and that waste is in fact radioactive, but it is radioactive at such a low level to not pose a serious threat to any form of life and also they produce such a negligible amount of waste and radiation that even if the containment of one of those reactors fails here on Earth, heck even behind your house for instance, that won't pose much of a threat to anything, let alone destroying the planet.
Fusion Reactors produce like 30 times less waste and that waste has such a low amount of radiation and at such a low energy state that it will decay in a few hundred years at worst, not a few thousand like nuclear waste.
Not to mention the fact that fusion reactors are expected to produce way way way more power than nuclear one with just a fraction of the materials needed and an even more little fraction of waste.
Thorium Reactors are expected to be even better as a temporary solution to renew nuclear power, since they produce more electricity, with less fuel, less radiation and less waste and pollution, thus environmental impact.
I do not care anymore. You understand? It was freakin 8 months ago.
