I've only recently picked up on this song. fantastic so I looked it up and had a shock to see how old it was. Good to see Stuart on the drums again. Cymru Am Byth
This was my first ever gig at 14 years old. I've been lucky enough to see everyone from The Foo Fighters and Oasis (in Manchester) to Prince, The Eagles and Bruce Springsteen, nothing will ever top this gig. RIP Stuart Cable x Full gig is here if you're after more! : ruclips.net/video/9qGxXT9Jm60/видео.html&ab_channel=StereophonicsBrazil
I remember driving past the morfa stadium in my suped up 106 with the windows down and listening to the phonics playing and wishing I was in there. Morfa now gone and home to swansea city FC.
The old 106 lol! Been years since I’ve seen or heard one mentioned!! Can’t remember the last time I saw one even! Loved the wee 106 back in the day. 106 vs the 306… All the above mentioned I can say for the 306 as well. Good times back in them days… I loved the Clio from back in they days.
- *Lyrics* - I stopped to fill my car up The car felt good that day I didn't know where I was going But it felt good for a change A five and a pocket full of silver I paid the lady no change And then it started to piss down I started driving again And then I looked up And looked in the mirror behind me A man round forty in the back seat Must have stepped in when I was empty So why's he sat there just waiting Likely to smash my face in He had a bag full of money He said 'just drive me away' I didn't know where I was going Yet it felt good to be strange And still I look up And look in the mirror behind me Curiosity is over He stepped down from the car He pulled a gun from his jacket Said I was going to die It gives me so much satisfaction To watch you beg and cry Well I just made up this story To get your attention makes me smile I never looked up or looked In the mirror behind me
Slo motion Jones. We stole a book of beer tokens at T in the Park a few weeks earlier, only to arrive at Morfa & realise the promoters were using same said tokens. My mate Tony walked around like Willy Wonka on the realisation he had around 300 of the fuckers in his wallet.
The thing we get upto on a day out at a ROCK AND ROLL CONCERT, US BOYS WHAT WE LIKE , GOD I DON KNOW. PEACE BE WITH YOU MY FRIENDS, FROM A FELLOW TAFF.😎😎😎✌✌✌🏴🏴🏴
Always been my favourite phonics tune, seen them close on it many many times, and Kelly’s version on his solo tour was unbelievable
Brought a tear to my eye seeing Stuart cable on the drums, awesome drummer and the heart of the phonics in back in the day
Kelly said he would've ended up back in the band. What might've been, eh?
Shame his friends allowed him to carry on binge drinking, but he was the life and soul
U now that
Still Here 2023
This really is one of the best live songs ever
one of the most underrated Stereophonics songs, such a beautiful tune

They were a force of nature during that period, absolutely flawless imo. Would have loved to be at that gig
the ultimate show stopper :)

I stopped to fill my car up
The car felt good that day
I didn't know where I was going
But it felt good for a change
A five and a pocket full of silver
I paid the lady no change
And then it started to piss down
I started driving again
And then I looked up
And looked in the mirror behind me
A man round forty in the back seat
Must have stepped in when I was empty
So why's he sat there just waiting
Likely to smash my face in
He had a bag full of money
He said 'just drive me away'
I didn't know where I was going
Yet it felt good to be strange
And still I look up
And look in the mirror behind me
Curiosity is over
He stepped down from the car
He pulled a gun from his jacket
Said I was going to die
It gives me so much satisfaction
To watch you beg and cry
Well I just made up this story
To get your attention makes me smile
I never looked up or looked
In the mirror behind me
I wonder if I type a few lyrics of one of the best songs in the 🌎 if I can get a few likes......

Streophphonics, deep as Dylan, their legacy will be with us forever

To sad ❤
wow xx
A video we made on iPhone for this song
So if he never looked up or looked in the mirror behind him, it means he got shot without even noticing? Kinda tragic
Still here 2018?
No
Wow
This must have been 18 years ago?
