im Australian, i had my car window smashed and stuff taken.. call the cops they dont come "they had real crime to deal with" i have had a ticket for not wearing a seat belt one time, that must be the real crime cops care about/// i know its not the same as getting hit by a car. my point was cops dont protect people they raze $$$$$$$

That "Assembly line" of people getting ticketed was sooooo satisfying to watch
For the first time, I see so many residents who live nearby and support the SADB team. A lot of different people complained about the same thing. People who support offenders usually show up. It seems that consciousness has started to change slowly, unfortunately not for everyone.

In America you'd have 10 companies waiting to tow that vehicle, lock it up, charge a bunch of fees against it, and then sell it for pieces when the owner finally gave up trying to buy it back. But if they won't tow it, do "finders-keepers" rules come into play?
In Norway, most people just don't drive on sidewalks as if they are roads. I saw one guy once who drove onto a sidewalk near a bus stop. Put my hands to the side like asking "WTH dude?" , he stayed, so I pulled my phone up, pointed it at him and he just took off. He knew he was breaking rules.

This is a big part of the problem in Russia...they get a 1500-2000 rubles fine for endangering the public. That's like $20-$25 fine! Make it 4000 for first offense, 6000 for second offense etc. The fourth time your license is suspended and your car is towed. People will think twice before driving on the sidewalk.
@@ledwallet1944 Yeah, that's sooo low. I don't even think it counts as a fine. It's called something else (google translate gave "traffic error charge"). It's the same as if you ride your bicycle on a sidewalk. Don't really know what will you get for driving your car on a sidewalk like that, noone does it here.
To be honest, i dont think the tow company would have their expenses for the tow covered by selling that car.
It was really rough, and after this incident it also had a smashed windscreen.
@@kaarelk274 It is a crazy low fine to be a deterrence. I remember in the 80's when I was very young and got a ticket ($25.00) for parking half on the street and half on the sidewalk. My mom was handicapped and mad at hell with me. Had to take the train for 3 months 😢. You would of thought I would know better. Never did it again though.

Serious question: Why not just move the flower pots to block the way?
A few of the pedestrians explained how they pots used to be placed to block the sidewalk from cars.... but the criminals moved them out of the way so they could drive through.
They just get moved again or driven around...
In Moscow the sidewalks generally need to be kept open for emergency vehicles. I'm not sure about this particular sidewalk.

Russian police are sure different from U.S. police the case of the hit and run would have been handled much different here. There would b a arrest, bond, court, towing and a sentence.

The unpaid fines is because it's tied to the license plate instead of the driver's license... In the US the plate owner is charged and you can't re-register your vehicle without clearing all fines.

I feel sorry for the local residents that use that footpath. It's so dangerous, especially for the elderly or young children. The nerve of those drivers and many can't even admit that they were wrong.
Flowerbeds need to be deep staked into the walkway, too heavy for a human to lift the stake out, but a truck winch could ,for maintenance etc
