  • after repairing my P0420 code, another popped up Po171, I'm certain the gasket in the exhaust manifold is causing this. Im using my shop vac in the blow mode to send air up the tail pipe. the two previouse repairs are solid, but I'm getting bubbles of air from this area. I replaced it and now it's time for a test drive to see if it fixes the PO171.

The mechanic replaced my spark plugs and after that, I had p0171 and p0174. So he probably left something unplugged or i have to check myself

I’m working on my friends 99 Camry le 4cyl I replaced the fuel pump and filter still won’t start. I’m thinking of changing the fuel pressure regulator next on the injector rail. He said it was hard to start with rough idle leading up to it not starting the next day which was several days after it started

I'd focus on these items in this order, 1. Plug wires 2. Plugs. Oem. 3. Tps. Throttle pos. Sensor . 4. Cleaning throttle body. 4. Bad coil. 5.

Ya so the codes that say downstream o2 sensor is bad, it's not, there's usually a leak between the exhaust manifold or the down pipe and the resonator. Or the flex has a hole or multiple small holes. I've tried welding new flex pipes etc and I havnt succeeded. The solution that has worked for me on both of my 2001 Camrys is replacing the entire down pipe, it has a cat on it and I ordered both from rock auto. They are around 200 and the best 200 I've spent. If you do get one leak fixed another appears this In my opinion is from warped flanges. I have 4 Toyota Camrys and I'm about 97 percent sure leaks in the exhaust system cause several check engine codes. I usually throw a few hundred hoping it's the sensor, but it rarely is.

@@justatool I bought a intake manifold gasket, throttle body gasket and tbi gasket. Hopefully that fixes it, if not then its down the checklist to repair the next expensive part. Trying to get by with minimal wallet damage lol
